“Peter was exceptional. Right before we left one of the dogs was diagnosed with cancer and he went above and beyond to give us updates and deal with issues. Could not have asked for better service or responsiveness. Think the dogs wanted to leave with him”
About: I can't remember a time in my life I did not have my own pets. I have taken care of my own pets all of my life and am a lifelong animal caregiver. I have experience as a foster mom for an animal rescue as well and I enjoyed taking care of so many different babies and helping them find their forever homes. I have always had both cat and dog companions and have advocated and helped friends and family with their pets as well. I currently have a senior dog, a senior cat, who have both been with me for over 13 years, three cats who are two years old and a leopard gecko! I would love to meet you and help with your pet care needs! I'm currently available part-time, on Monday- Friday from 9:00 am- 1:30 pm. I would be happy to work around your schedule as much as possible! I have a fenced in yard and pets of my own. I understand each pet has their own personality and needs tailored to them. I will be an active listener and always treat and care for your pets according to your wishes!
“Kayla was great— very communicative, professional, the type of person who you trust will take good care of your pup. We had travel issues crop up while Kayla was slated to take care of our dog & she just rolled with it. We would be happy to work with her again!”

“Millie was great! Louie and Gus were well taken care of while we’re away for a week. Pups were in great spirits when we arrived back home. Communication was very good and pictures of pups were provided throughout the stay. I would definitely use Millie again.”

“Ari did an amazing job watching our home and our two dogs. Both dogs are temperamental and cannot be boarded and we had a lot of special requests for how to care for them and Ari was very accommodating and attentive to our pets. Would definitely recommend for in home dog sitting!!”

“Sara did a terrific job taking care of our dog and cat. She kept us updated on how they were doing and didn’t hesitate to ask questions if she needed information on how to provide the best care. Thank you, Sara.”

About: Hello! My name is Geneviève(“G”)- cat and dog mom to Pita, Vinny, and Lucy! I've been in Los Angeles for a decade working as a musician and exploring. I recently moved to AL! I love hiking, working out, crocheting, and hanging with family. I have a special way with shy temperaments and have experience with all sorts of dogs, from teacup Poms, to Huskies and Great Danes. I look forward to hanging out with your fur babies! ¨̮ I work evenings wed-Sunday so mornings afternoons work well for me or if it's house sitting I will be there most the day and gone for 6-7 hrs I want to become best friends with every animal I meet. I want your pet to feel comfortable while you're not there with them, and also want you to know they will get the best care and you can enjoy your trip away without worrying. Every animal I meet is different and has different needs (affection/play/space) I make sure to give each one I spend time with what they need.
About: I have taken care of dogs for the past 5 years, including a chihuahua of my own and my family’s dogs. I have experience raising puppies and caring for senior dogs as well. Even though every dog is different, I am able to provide adequate care and attention to every fur baby that I have the privilege of looking after. I am currently a student and have plenty of down time when I am not at school. This includes Fridays and Weekends and I can be pretty flexible with time! I keep frequent communication with pet owners, I’m able to accommodate to a dog needs, and am pretty knowledgeable about dog behavior to know their needs.
About: I grew up with dogs my entire life till i moved to college when I was 18. After that, I worked at a doggie daycare where I worked with large groups of dogs, helped socialize reactive dogs, exercised overactive dogs, and looked after boarded dogs for long periods. I'm currently a full-time student and looking for a part-time job. I am free early in the morning before class and in the afternoon to give all your pups the attention they need and deserve. I can't board in my apartment, but I can dog-sit in the comfort of their home base. I provide attentive, reliable care for every pet, focusing on safety, consistency, and making sure they feel comfortable in their own environment. In your home, I’m respectful of your space and keep everything clean and secure. I also provide regular photo updates so you can feel confident that your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for. Your pet’s well-being is always my top priority, and I treat every animal like they’re my own.

“Aniya is the absolute best! She was very communicative and sent lots of pictures. My Alfie is very shy and took no time at all to warm up to her. I will definitely be asking her to watch him again in the future.”

“I would highly recommend Riley. I used his services as a house sitter to take care of my Pekingese, who is very shy. She warmed up to Riley almost instantly, which is a testament to him. He left my house in the same condition as to when I left it: very clean. I greatly appreciate him taking care of my pet and my house. I would describe Riley as very friendly, honest and reliable. He's obviously a pet lover. What more can you ask for in someone to help you with your pet's needs?”

“Britney took very good care of my three dogs and sent me daily photos and text messages to let me know how they were doing. I will forsure use her again for any up coming trips in the future.”

“We had Alora watch our cat and 10 month old puppy while we were out of town for the weekend, and truly cannot recommend her enough!!! From the start we knew she would be great— she agreed to meet with us at our apartment to go over things beforehand, and made sure she knew all the ins and outs of their schedules. Our puppy has a ton of energy and can be a handful, but she was so great and comfortable with him. We got tons of pictures of our little guys and felt completely confident that they were in great hands the whole time. We came home to a clean and tidy apartment and two pets that had clearly been shown a ton of love. Alora is consistent, thorough, and clearly loves animals. She is an amazing pick for all of your pet care needs!”

About: Hi! I’m Raegan - professional belly-rubber, treat dispenser, and adventure buddy for your fur baby. I know how important it is to find someone you can trust with your BFF. Whether they love long walks, tug-of-war, or cozy nap sessions, I’ve got it covered. I’ve got experience with all kinds of pups - high energy, shy, sassy, or seniors - and I tailor each visit to make your dog feel safe, loved, and totally spoiled (in the best way). I also know how important consistency is when it comes to training, and I know how quickly they can get off track. I’m happy to discuss and follow any and all expectations while I’m with your pup so they don’t lose any progress while you’re away. I can promise your baby will have plenty of potty breaks and long walks, and I also have a large gated porch that they’ll be able to play their hearts out off-leash. I’ll always make sure to send updates, photos, and a little note about our time together so your time away from them can be as stress free as possible. I can’t wait to meet your pup! ❤︎ I recently lost my soul dog, Mello, so I have a lot of room in my house and heart to love on your pup(s)! I do work full-time, but my office is less than 10 minutes from home so I can provide multiple potty breaks even on work days. If we're hanging at my house, I have a large covered porch for the pup(s) to play on as much as they want. I also have the space to let them relax in their crate if you want to leave their crate with me. I also live in Southside which is the perfect area for long, enriching walks so we will get plenty of exercise!

I live in a gated apartment with a fenced in dog park so your pet will have all the space to roam and play as he/she wants! Plus I stay right next to railroad park in cases your dog needs long walks.
“Corina was great! She took time to do a meet and greet with my dog at my house before keeping her for the weekend, and my dog, who is usually very shy/skittish, took to her right away! Corina was thorough with her questions and making sure my dog would keep her normal routine while we were gone.”

“We had to contact Alexis on short notice but she stepped up and took great care of our Lucy. Lucy was Leary of her at first but Alexis was able to get her to come around. Will definitely use Alexis in the future”

FAQs for House Sitting - Minor
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 591 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Minor. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Minor walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Minor maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Minor choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Minor. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
