“Donna is absolutely great, very nice, accommodating and very punctual. She sent many pictures with our dog, who seemed very happy and well taken care of. We are very pleased to have met her and shall definitely contact her again for future bookings. Thank you, Donna!”

“Kimberly took excellent care of my little cavalier puppy Rudy🐶. It was his first time away from me and she updated me with messages and pictures. “Jeff was absolutely fantastic from the first enquiry to the end of Zizou’s stay. Communication was quick and easy, when my plans changed/got delayed Jeff was extremely flexible and accommodating. Zizou loved running around outside, and Jeff’s dog Sarah is such a sweetie too! 100% would book with Jeff again in the future.”

“Nicole was amazing ! She was very responsive leading up to my dog’s stay and sent updates with pictures of my dog during the stay. My pet really enjoyed the beautiful outdoor space to play in and the well maintained inside space to wind down. I would book with her again ! Highly recommend.”

“Always a pleasure to leave my dogs with Victoria. She loves to take the dogs for long walks, and is very attuned to their needs. The older/senior dog gets special treatment. Thanks for taking such good care of my two huskies.”

“Thalya did an amazing job taking care of our 3-year-old dog, Lucky Oreo. She was incredibly responsive, sending regular updates that kept us reassured and informed. “Our dogs had a great time at Jane’s! Her home is cozy and clean and her outdoor yards are completely secure. My dogs had such a nice weekend with her that when I came to pick them up, one ran back into her house and tried to stay! Great communication and lots of photos, and she happily gave our pups their meds and made sure they were happy and comfortable. We will definitely use her again.”

“I was so glad to have found Mary Ann on Rover to watch our dog Piper for 2 weeks while we were on vacation. On our initial visit with Mary Ann, I knew this was a great fit for Piper. She is such a sweet, caring, knowledgeable woman that I knew would take wonderful care of my dog. This was the first time using Rover as I was not comfortable leaving her in a kennel again for this long as my dog gets very anxious and sad when we are away and my usual in house dog sitter was with us on vacation. Mary Ann lives just 10 minutes from my house with a lovely fenced in side yard for her to go to the bathroom outside and just run around not being on a leash, which is just like home. Also being able to jump on the furniture and the beds was a plus too, again just like home. And she did not have any issues getting too anxious which is what I was hoping for. It was a perfect fit and a great find. I would not hesitate to book with Mary Ann again.”

“I was in town for a work trip, but my dog didn’t have someone to watch him. Rosalie is a very sweet person and made my dog feel right at home. It was a nice day out, so he got to spend a lot of time outside exploring her yard! Thank you Rosalie!”

“Absolute peace of mind through the entire experience. This was only the third time with a sitter and second boarding my Whiskey dog overnight; but never have I felt as content as when he was with Judy, her wonderful family & beautiful home. Was able to completely enjoy my vacation knowing he was cared for as one of her own. I really can’t thank her enough for what that contentment was worth to me. To top it off she’s so nice!! Had pushed the date forward a day at the last minute, she was totally understanding and went with the flow. Just thank you!!!! I know Whiskey dog misses his new friends already =^_^=”

“Nardia was friendly, communicated well, and very flexible with my last minute puppy boarding needs! I needed a place for my puppy to stay within two hours for the night, and Nardia opened her home for my puppy and was patient and comforting with her. Highly recommend.”

“Simon watched our little pup while we went away for the weekend. The two of them became fast buddies and we were grateful to know our little guy was with someone he was so comfortable with.”

About: I have always been an animal lover. As a kid, I had a guinea pig and a dog, and I spent a lot of my time at a farm, riding and caring for horses. Aside from taking care of my family dog, I have looked after the pets of friends and acquaintances. I have experience with both dogs and cats. I have volunteered in animal shelters and sanctuaries, and previously worked with a dog groomer, bathing and drying dogs. I work a part-time 11am-5pm job, mostly on weekends, along with some special events. I have quite a bit of flexibility with my schedule, so I can arrange it to fit with other responsibilities, such as pet sitting needs! I have a fenced yard, perfect for playing! I currently do not have any pets. I love to provide pets with the entertainment exercise they need, and I'm always happy to give cuddles if your pet likes physical affection, or space if they prefer to keep some distance.

“Peter was such a wonderful sitter. His updates were timely and detailed and I felt confident that Nutmeg was cared for, happy, and healthy during her stay. I will definitely ask Peter to sit again if I’m ever in the area again.”

“❤️😳🙌I dropped my puppy Malinois off with Angel for 5 days. She came back happy, and better behaving when I picked her up. I can tell a lot af attention was given to her and she was treated well. A Puppy Malinois not the easiest dog to handle… Angel is definitely a dog whisperer 🙏🏻✨”

“Nala had a great Halloween stay with Lauren! It was a last minute request for my last minute Halloween plans, and Lauren was able to accommodate me and my tricky timing! Nala had a blast and can’t wait for her next stay at the Ranch :)”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Milan
Caroline was great with Penny! Penny is a senior cattle dog mix with some separation anxiety, so she can definitely be a little particular about her people. She really liked Caroline and seemed comfortable with her right away, which is a big deal for Penny. Caroline was super sweet, patient, and easygoing with her. I felt really good leaving Penny with her and would absolutely book Caroline again!

Janice was so communicative and sweet when caring for my sweet baby Jack. So thoughtful to send so many photos. She was so quick to approve my booking and shift things around to accommodate us in a last minute pickle! Jack was so happy at the farm and looking forward to going back!

On Rover, sitters set their own rates based on factors such as their experience, the length of care, the number of pets, and your pet’s specific needs. If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
96% of sitters in Milan can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Milan home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Milan.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
