About: I've had pets for the majority of my life... from birth to my early twenties. I had only cage pets throughout my twenties due to apartment living and kids allergies. We finally got a dog again in 2018 and will never look back. I've had and cared for snakes, fish (salt water and fresh) hamsters, rats, lizards and the accompanying cage full of crickets, birds, and of course cats and dogs. I am a master at administering meds. Pills, liquid medication, topicals, you name it. I'm great at brushing, bathing and even drying pets. I am very well trained and experienced in avoiding bloat. I am really calm and patient with skittish pets, and can usually get them to come around within a couple days. And if i can't? That's fine, too. You do you, boo. As long as you're eating, drinking and not destroying the house, we don't need to be best friends. We can just wait together for your parents to come home. :) Like anyone, I have a soft spot for elders. My own pups are getting up there at 7 and 8. I love puppies too of course, but my schedule doesn't really accommodate for frequent daytime outdoor trips during the week. Best of all, I have plenty of room in my camera roll to take pictures and videos of your furry friends to keep you up to date while you're away. I know how much we can miss our furry friends, and I will love to reassure you that they're having a great time even though they miss you, too. Photos will be deleted after booking and will not be taken with any identifying information ie mail or yard with address. I currently work Monday 6am to 5pm, Tuesday through Friday 8am to 430pm, and am off weekends. I'm gonna be honest, this doesn't make me the best sitter for puppies or elders who need to go out often. I will come over in the morning before work, on my lunch break at 11 if you're close enough, and then as many times as possible during the afternoon and evening. I can stay for long stretches, or I can pop in and out, whichever works best for your pups. Being summer, I will not walk dogs if it's over 90. If it's too hot for my feet, it's too hot for theirs! However I will scoop backyard poop if you have a doggie door, change out potty pads, and mop with an enzyme cleaner before you get home. I try to make your pet's transition from you to me as seamless as possible. I will try to keep with their schedule as much as possible. I will give them loves in the way they prefer. I love playing with dogs, the crazier the better, and I live for snuggling with the snugglers. I drive a pickup truck whose seats have already been torn up by my dogs, so I don't have a problem bringing them to dog parks, vet appointments, Tractor Supply Dog Wash (for a fee) and God forbid, the emergency vet.

About: Hi! I’m Rob, and I’ve had the joy of caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and energy levels. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, feeding, or overnight care, I bring patience, love, and attentiveness to every pup I meet. I understand how important it is to keep your dog’s routine consistent and stress-free while you’re away. I’m confident handling everything from high-energy dogs who need long walks, to senior pups who need extra gentleness and care. Safety, trust, and tail wags are my top priorities. I treat every dog like family—because that’s exactly what they are. Let me know how I can support your dog’s needs while you’re away! I work remotely from my computer, which gives me a flexible schedule and the ability to be fully present for your pets throughout the day. Whether your pet needs a midday walk, morning feeding, or just some companionship while you’re away, I’m able to adjust my day to fit their routine. I genuinely love spending time with animals and find it so rewarding to care for them while working from home. I’m reliable, communicative, and happy to accommodate your pet’s specific needs and schedule. When I care for your pets in your home, I treat your space with the utmost respect and care—as if it were my own. I understand the importance of creating a calm, secure environment for your pets while maintaining the privacy and safety of your home. You can count on me to follow your instructions closely, keep things clean and tidy, and provide regular updates so you always feel in the loop. I lock up carefully, stay alert, and take your trust seriously every step of the way. With me, your home and pets are in reliable, loving hands.

About: “I’ve been caring for dogs ever since I was about 10 years old. I’ve cared for puppies, very active dogs, senior dogs, and even dogs that require special care. I can offer a unique and tailored approach to ensure a top-notch pet sitting experience!" I am currently a college student and take online courses. Therefore, I am able to be very flexible with my pet care schedule. I am always at home so no pet will go unattended. I have a fenced in backyard and a very pet friendly home. About: I’ve had many doggies in my family since I was five. Since I’m a paraplegic (going on five years now) and I have an ESA medium sized doodle, we would love a low-key playmate to share our adventures with—even if it’s just cuddling up on the couch, watching a movie. Being a paraplegic, I have access to my own door to the fenced in backyard from my bedroom. My parents are always home—which is where they also work—and would provide help with cuddles during our nightly movie fests. (Note: we prefer well trained, good natured, willing-to-be-low-key, but able to run at least two miles doggies. A love of Charlie Chaplin, like my dog, is optional) Daily, my Hairy and I go on walks—me on a three wheel scooter OR a three wheel bike, and never ever if it’s more than 100 degrees. If it’s 90-100 degrees, I thoroughly hose down my doggie and bring lots of water, and aim for a trail or park with lots of grass. If your dog is well mannered, I will let them loose and we can play with the ball.) My parents and I all work our individual jobs at home. I’m a writer in a wheelchair with my dog Hairy, who is in every respect like the hero we all have read about and adore. As I work on my computer, Hairy sits on his bed in the corner, waiting for another doggie boarder to play with! Yet, daily, your dog and mine would get at least two walks/bike rides/3 wheeled scooter rides so they get exposure to the world outside. (Some soaking down may be required for heat purposes.) Lots of treats, loves, cuddles, and relaxation provided with a varied fenced-in backyard are always at hand. Fenced yard, fountains, maybe 25 trees, no cats (bleah!), grass galore, and stairs to explore! Inside our environment is a working from home angelic nurse practitioner mom, a hard working engineer dad, and a writer (that’s me! Find my first book on Amazon called Prelude in N Minor as well as my other books!).

About: As a dog mama myself, I understand what it means to leave your pup in someone else's hands. I treat every dog like family — with the same patience, attention, and love I give my own. We go on lots of walks (there's a trail right next to my house) and have tons of play time and cuddle time. I work from home, so am able to give your pup the attention s/he needs and deserves. I go on frequent walks with my own pup and have a dog door so the pups can go in and out as they need. There is a trail right beside out house and we go on lots of walks throughout the day. They will get lots of love, snuggles, and exercise!

Jayne took great care of the critters! I really appreciate all the photos documenting all she did and the time she took to let the cat know it wasn't forgotten. Experience with chickens is a definite plus. I recommend Jayne for my neighbors and will happily call her again.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Mesquite stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
