About: I have taken care of my own and other's cats and dogs for years, from feeding, to exercising and of course plenty of clean up occasions. Not only have I managed a family home with both cats and dogs, but I also showed one of my dogs for AKC confirmation and graduated with another one of my dogs from obedience classes. I bottle fed two of my cats when they were infants and have cared for both cats and dogs into their senior, twilight years. I even cared for one of my senior dogs after she became deaf and blind. Just recently I helped usher my beloved 15-year-old cat across the rainbow. She was the last of my own pets. I have experience with dispensing oral medications and insulin shots to cats and dogs from very young pets as well as aging ones. In my professional life I was very organized, detailed oriented and practiced great communication skills. I will bring all this experience to the care and feeding of your beloved animals. I've experienced so much with my own and other folks’ pets, but now my two dogs and two-cat-household is feeling a little empty. So please let me offer my heart and hands to care for your dear fur babies. I am recently retired and have some on-going activities and appointments, but I also have quite a bit of freedom to determine my own schedule and be flexible. I have time and availability for daily visits, dog walking, or even in your household for overnight care. In your home I can offer feeding visits, occasional visits, dog walking, and if required, overnight at your home. Let's me know what you need to care best for your pet.

“Chelsie you went above and beyond to make sure my pups were treated with royalty. I have never seen my dogs get so excited to see someone, not even when I get home. Chelsie supplied lots of pictures of the walks and the most detailed summary which was always a pleasure to read. She really cares and extremely thoughtful, would never hesitate to book with her anytime I need help. Thank you so much Chelsie!”

About: Caring for people and pets comes naturally to me. I worked in nursing for several years before leaving to care for my father full time.between that and being a mom giving love and care comes easy. I have 3 dogs of my own, all of which are friendly and love a bit of play time. I am a big believer in fresh air and exercise. Let's get those steps in for your 4 legged family member. I don't work a regular job, I care for my elderly father and do some side work here and there. So I am available for walking or drop in visits at a moments notice. I have a fenced in yard and food and treats at the ready. Many leashes and brushes and more. I have 3 dogs of my own that love to play with each other and yours too. I can also keep my dogs away if yours isn't socialized to others.

“Lisa walked our 2 dogs several times when we were on a long vacation. We had great communication and our dogs were very comfortable with her. I would definitely recommend her services.”

“This was our first time using Rover and Monica made the process so easy. She sent us notes and lots of pictures at every visit. She took cues from our dog on how far she could walk at each visit depending on the weather and then spent time cuddling our Boston Terrier too (which is just as important for our dog as exercise). We were out of town and never had to worry if things were going well! Our family highly recommends Monica for your pet walking/sitting needs!!”

About: I have a soft spot for the quirky or misunderstood animals. I pride myself on making sure your pet is comfortable and feels free to be themselves. I have experience with mildly aggressive dogs, senior dogs, puppies, and the medically challenged. I am typically available after 4pm monday-friday, and on the weekends I am fairly flexible. Working with animals is a passion of mine and does not feel like a job. :) I have a fenced in yard, and a spacious first floor in my home so I have plenty of room for your pet to run around or play.

About: I have experience with puppies as well as elderly dogs, from the excitable to the scared. These incredible friends and family are very in tune with our energy, so make sure you’re bringing kind and loving people into their lives- and that’s me! It has been a pleasure and joy to meet so many wonderful animal friends and get to care for them! When I used to go parties, you could almost guarantee I’d be in the corner having found the furry or feathered family member, often hearing “they don’t usually like new people!”. I love to hang out with these friends- plenty of pets, toys, and walks- and lots of snuggles if they want them! I was also given the opportunity to help move a dog to the Middle East when the owner was nervous about moving and having to start immediately, so I was able to help with the transition with walks, food, comfort, and discovering a new country to help him feel safe and taken care of- and help his owner be at peace that he was being taken care of properly. I also have experience with dogs with arthritis and seizures. I am always honored to get to spend time with them! I am an artist with flexible schedule and always welcome a break to hang out with some awesome fur babies! I also share custody of my preschooler, so depending on the evening, I may have different options for time and I’m available every other weekend! I take being in peoples homes very seriously- I respect their space and make sure to follow instructions for the safety of the fur babies and myself! As someone in her late 30s, I have found that cleaning up as I go and using common sense and past experiences serve me well when no instructions are given for different situations.

“Nila loved going on a walk with Alexandra and was so happy afterwards! She was flexible even with our last minute request, great at communicating, and understood the differences in dog personalities and how to work with that. Definitely would recommend her!”

About: My home environment is calm and child-free, a great place for older or shy pups! I have two senior rescues who love taking naps and are good with calmer dogs but able to get along with almost all pups - and don’t mind cats either! I volunteered with KC Pet Project before moving back to Des Moines in 2024 and fostered a variety of breeds, logging more than 100 hours in my first few months of volunteering. I only have 2 Rover pups at a time (boarding and/or daycare) to be able to provide the care and attention your pet needs and have a size restriction to small to medium dogs. I mostly work remotely and have a flexible schedule for walks and potty breaks. My two senior dachshunds enjoy cozy blankets and napping on heating pads so a pups who enjoys a calm environment are a good fit for us. Be prepared for lots of photos and updates throughout the day! I work full-time but am mostly remote so I can let your dog out frequently. Happy to go for walks and explore the park near us! I can easily crate your pup and they are welcome to snuggle on the furniture or sleep in the bed (will crate if that is their routine). I have no kids in my home and it’s a pretty relaxed and quiet environment. We have dog ramps for any pup needing them.

About: Hey there! I’m Rachel and I’ve had a family dog for as long as I can remember. But now I have a family of my own- my partner and I have 4 kids and a mini zoo with 1 bunny, 2 ball pythons, 1 bearded dragon, 2 dogs, 4 cats, 6 mourning geckos and 6 aquariums with fish, snails, dwarf crayfish and shrimp. So, I have a lot of experience with a wide range of animals. Since I’ve started pet sitting on Rover I’ve also gained experience with raw feeding cats and dogs, chicken wrangling, mini home repairs, tree moving, raspberry picking and goose whispering. I used to volunteer every day at the local animal shelter while I was in highschool where I got tons of experience with all types of dogs and frequently helped out the neighbors with their escape artist husky! I previously worked as an assistant dog trainer. I’ve gotten tons of experience with how to better read animal’s body language, create and maintained presence control and facilitate healthy play. While most of my experience is with dogs, I am a true animal lover. One of the biggest perks of having me as your sitter is that our whole family helps take part. My 15 year old, Bella, is usually heavily involved in the care of the animals we sit. My other 3 younger kids also absolute love to take care of and play with all the animals. If your pets like to hang out and play with kids, get attention all day long… your pets are in for a treat with us! (For boarding) We truly strive to give dogs a home-away-from-home experience where they just jump right into our routine. Most of the time they end up sleeping in bed with one of our kids, playing with us outside, getting loves on the couch- all the stuff a family dog can expect. We stand proudly in our family beliefs of qualify pet care and don’t want to be a boarding spot where they put your animal in a kennel, let them out twice a day and charge you extra for playtime or potty breaks. (For pet sitting at home): We do come and go more often when we are sitting pets at their own home but we still make it a family affair. We make sure to drop-in frequently to check on them, feed them, let them out and play with them! Bella loves to hang out with our pet clients and play with them. Sometimes I bring a different kiddo to stay the night with me each night so that they all get a chance to give individual attention to the animals we are watching. We also watch over the house and property. At one pet sit, there was a storm that ran through and a massive branch broke into the pet parent’s driveway, front yard, sidewalk and street! After we notified the owners, Bella and I got it moved out of the way of the street and sidewalk so the pet parents didn’t have to worry about it until they got home. We understand that pet sitting is more than just watching the pets at home and we like to provide a holistic approach. My wife, Leigh also cleans and manages houses when she isn’t at home with our kids. She was the manager and trainer at a locally owned high-end home management company for many years. If you want your house cleaned or you have an organizational project you want completed while you’re gone, let me know! Leigh would be happy to chat with you, figure out what you’re wanting accomplished and get it done while you’re gone. She’s got a plethora of clients who continue to be impressed with her work and ask her to come back as proof of a job well done- so it’s not just my (possibly biased) opinion. 😉 I work as a school bus driver primarily so it leaves my summer & most major holidays pretty open! When I am at work my wife is usually home with some or all of the kids, so even when I’m busy- we have the ability to care for pets. I am pretty flexible but my main priority is making sure I am respectful of your space as much as I would want someone to be respectful of mine. Taking photos and communicating heavily with pet parents is top priority for me. If you wish to have less communication, just let me know so I don’t send too many cute pictures of your pets! I know what a big deal it is to leave my pets in the care of someone else and as a result, I take the responsibility very seriously myself.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats since I was 12. Friends and family have relied on me for pet sitting whenever they are out of town. I currently work full-time Hybrid. I work from home Mondays and Fridays. During this time I can provide care specific to your pet and their needs. I can provide potty breaks every 0-2 hours at least. I have a giant fully fenced back yard and 2 friendly dogs. One dog prefers more to watch the other dogs play while the other dog loves to be in all the action!

About: I have worked as an assistant manager at a dog daycare and boarding facility for 1 year. I have always had dogs growing up. I am currently in training to be a dog trainer. I am available everyday anytime I only work 3 hours two days a week at a dog training facility as of now. My hours are very flexible. I believe that dogs are part of the family so they should be treated that way! I have a lot of love for dogs and making sure they are well taken care of and loved. I want to make sure that you are at ease whenever you need to be away from your dog/dogs, knowing that they are getting lots of attention and love!

About: I’ve personally had a dog for about two years and helped care for my grandmothers dog for 3 years before that. I trained my dog as a service dog and have done some training with family members dogs. I can come over to your house multiple times a day while you are gone to let the pup out, play with them, and feed them. I do not work and am in school to become a dog trainer using an online program so I have lots of time to devote to your pets! I can come over to your home to play with and care for your animals, and in some circumstances I am willing to consider keeping the pup at my house for a little while (pending an evaluation and seeing how they interact with my dog). I love working and playing with animals and your dog will likely get a little of complimentary training out of it! Like how to sit, lay down, and walk more manageably on a leash if necessary. I can crate your dog at your home or let him free roam, however if boarding, the dog WILL be crated at some times such as at night or if I have an appointment and cannot supervise them to ensure their safety.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs throughout my entire life, big or small. I’ve cared for family pets and pets of close friends on many occasions. I’m currently not working so I will have an open schedule for the near future. I’m free weekdays, weeknights, and weekends to stop in and play with them! I take time to get to know every animal individually. Every pet has their own little quirks and personality traits that I really enjoy learning about them.

I would fully expect Katie to be an excellent dog sitter seeing how much she goes above and beyond for her beloved Eugene. I would trust Kate to care for my dog, Shiba Pete. Thanks, Dave”
