“Matthew was willing to help me out on relatively short notice. I needed help walking my dog over the weekend because of a flared back issue. He was terrific! Friendly, enthusiastic, good walker and communicator. I appreciated his ability to be flexible, too. Shankara evidently loved the walks. I will definitely book with him in the future as needs demand it! Thanks, Matt!”

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life and am comfortable handling dogs of all sizes, energy levels, and personalities. Being very active, I enjoy making sure dogs get the exercise and attention they need through walks, playtime, and engagement. I’m patient, dependable, and attentive to each dog’s individual needs, whether that’s caring for a high-energy puppy or making sure an older dog is comfortable and well looked after. I treat every dog like my own and always prioritize their safety, routine, and happiness. Pet care fits well into my routine because I’m currently training for the National Football League, which keeps me active and disciplined with my schedule. My training sessions are structured, so I have consistent availability throughout the day for walks, drop-ins, and pet sitting. Staying active means I enjoy getting dogs outside for exercise, playtime, and walks while making sure they receive reliable care and attention. Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for pets. I always follow the owner’s instructions closely, keep pets on leash during walks, and make sure they’re in a safe environment at all times. I pay attention to their behavior, energy levels, and comfort so they feel relaxed and secure while in my care.
About: Hi! I’m Samantha and I’m a dog mom to a hyper and friendly seven year old dog named Mickey. My #1 promise is to take care of your pet like he/she is my own! I first and foremost consider myself a dog person, but love other animals as well! I have lived with the smallest of dogs to big lovable giants like Saint Bernards. I'm trustworthy, kind, reliable and friendly- and I'd love to take care of your pet. I am very responsible pet sitter, having owned my own animals growing up (dog, bunny), raising my own beagle/boxer mix currently, and I truly love animals of all kinds. I currently live in Mentor and work from home full-time, so you can rest assured that your pup will be taken care of. I've loved animals (especially dogs!) ever since I can remember. My friends love to poke fun at how much I care for them. (Squirrels and pigeons even get my attention.) When I was 7, I adopted my first Border Collie/Golden Retriever Mix- Brownie. She was the perfect friend an only child could ever ask for. These days it’s just me and my little 35lb shadow of a pup named Mickey! He is a beagle/boxer mix and is the sweetest, most lovable pup in the world! I know that it can be incredibly overwhelming leaving a pet with a stranger, and I will do everything that I can to ease any anxiety you may have about leaving them while you’re away. I am more than happy to share daily photos and updates whenever you need. I currently work from home full-time and can drop by for walks up to 2x per day. If you need more, just let me know and we can discuss! My in-home services are currently inactive, but I am very respectful and will ensure your property remains locked and safe when I come and go for walks.
About: I have experience overnight dog sitting for family and friends locally. Additionally, for the past 3 years, I have been a dog sitter and secondary trainer for 4 Paws for Ability. This is non-profit organization near Dayton, Ohio that trains specialized service dogs for children, adults, and veterans with disabilities, where I would watch puppies for hours at a time. I am currently in graduate school, with a flexible schedule this summer, so I will have plenty of time to play with your pups! I am available Fri-Sun at all times during the day for drop in visits or walks! I care for pets in your home by following their normal routine to reduce stress and keep things consistent. I prioritize safety by securing doors and will watch over your pup like they are my own. I can refill food and water, and give them plenty of exercise and affection while following all specific instructions needed.
“Ashley was wonderful! Very kind and polite. She took my pup to his favourite park for his walk and sent me a picture of him on his walk as well. He came home happy and tuckered our.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs ever since I was a child. I currently have a 7 year old pup, Gemma. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet. I have been a high school English teacher for 20 years. I am reliable, patient, and attentive to details. Whether your dog needs a walk, playtime, or just company, I’ll make sure they feel loved safe, loved, and cared for. I’m comfortable with dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. I’m happy to follow and specific routines and instructions. I’m especially excited to help during the summer months and would love to meet your pup! I work full time, but still have time for my pup. I take care of all her needs and wants. She gets daily walks, sometimes twice a day. I treat every pup as if they were my own! Aside from meeting their basic needs, pups get spoiled with my love and attention, which is what they deserve.

About: Hi! I’m a reliable and responsible dog lover who genuinely enjoys spending time with animals. I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities, and I understand how important it is to keep them safe, comfortable, and happy while you’re away. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or just keeping your dog company, I’ll treat your pet like my own. I’m dependable, attentive, and committed to making sure both you and your dog feel at ease. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I build my schedule around being consistent and dependable. I’m available in the mornings for feeding, walks, and check-ins before starting my day, and I’m home in the afternoons, which gives me time to spend with dogs for exercise, play, and attention. I do work part-time in the evenings about five days a week, but I plan around that so dogs are never left without care for long. Before work, I make sure they’ve had a walk, time outside, and attention, and when I get home, I stick to an evening routine with another walk, feeding if needed, and time to wind down. On my days off and weekends, I have much more flexibility, so I’m able to give extra time, longer walks, and more one-on-one attention. Overall, I’m very structured with my time, so even with a busy schedule, pet care is something I prioritize and stay consistent with. Your dog won’t just be “watched”—they’ll be cared for like they’re my own. I keep a consistent, structured routine so they feel comfortable and stress-free while you’re away. Throughout the day, I make sure they’re never bored or ignored—whether that’s playtime, walks, or just hanging out so they have company. I pay close attention to their mood and energy, so high-energy dogs stay active and tired, while calmer dogs get a more relaxed, easygoing day. I stick closely to your dog’s normal routine and any specific instructions, because I know the little details matter. Bottom line: your dog gets consistency, attention, and someone who actually cares—not just someone stopping by.
About: Hello! My name is Maria and I am very excited to meet your furry friend! I’ve raised 2 large dogs and 2 small dogs so I am comfortable with any size pet. I also worked at a doggie day care center for a year and a half where I worked with all size dogs for 8 plus hours at a time and facilitated friendly play so I am able to handle multiple dogs or cats at a time! am available for dog walking or a stop in visits. I live in the mentor area but am willing to travel as well. Please let me know if this is the type of sitter you are looking for! I work as a nurse so my schedule is pretty flexible. I care for my own pets with walks, park visits, and agility. I also enjoy caring for other dogs with walks or acting as a dog sitter. I am always cautious when taking care of pets in my home or another persons home. I understand that allowing someone into your home can be nerve racking so I am always sure to communicate as much as I can with home owners and follow their specific instructions to ensure the visit goes as smooth as possible.
“Kelsey was absolutely awesome with my Jaxx! I was traveling for business and dropped him off at my parents. She was in the area, so I hired her because my parents are older and can’t necessarily exercise him the way that he needs to be. I will hire her again in the future.”

About: I very much enjoy engaging with and taking care of all types of animals and I have owned and cared for animals since childhood. I have the most experience with cats and dogs but have owned and looked after a range of other pets as well. I can provide the appropriate level of care and attention to your pets that you are looking for and am more than happy to provide as many photos or updates for you to feel good about being away. From puppies to elderly pets I have cared for all ages and types of pets! My goal is to get as many regular clients as possible, so I am very open to working through rates that work for both sides for ongoing or regular services. I have a large SUV so i can also do drop off and pickup if that would be helpful. Because I work from home full-time, I'm able to offer a level of flexibility. I can usually accommodate early mornings, evenings, last-minute requests, and everything in between — just ask! Punctuality and reliability are something I take seriously, so you can always count on me to be there when I say I will. My home is welcoming for all animals and there is an acre and a half in the back with plenty of room to play. I am active and engaged with animals and will make sure any routine or special care requirements are followed.
“As new Rover users Rachel helped us through the process and was very flexible with our schedules. We’re grateful that she’s working with us. Charlie is looking forward to seeing her every day.”

About: My parents are also animal lovers, so I have had many different dogs growing up from Great Danes to Teacup Chihuahuas! My first dog was a Golden Retriever named Roxy! She made me fall in love with animal care which is when I pursued positions working at boarding facilities, vet clinics, and animal shelters. These positions gave me plenty of experience working with many different breeds and personalities. I also learned correct ways to administer medications and deal with animals that may be in distress. I currently am in grad school and have classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. My field season is in the spring, so I may have limited availability. I am very trustworthy. I understand that my only job is to come and offer the care and love to your pets while you are not available. Most of my time will be spent giving my full attention to your loved one’s! If your pet is not the social type or I need to be at your house for a long period of time, I have many hobbies (journaling, reading, crocheting, etc.), and I am also in school to receive my masters degree in Biology, so I have homework or materials I can bring to entertain myself if needed.

My dog absolutely loves Annalise! Annalise is super dependable, showing up right on time for every walk. She was consistently prompt with getting Ladybug outside for fresh air and exercise while I’m home recovering from surgery and needed an extra hand with my dog! I also appreciated the report updates and photos to describe the walks they went on. I would definitely recommend her, and I know Ladybug will look forward to seeing her again sometime!
