He is not just a pet sitter; he is a true pet lover and caregiver.”

Darian B.

“I'd highly recommend Darian to anyone - your dog (and home!) will be in great hands. Darian stayed at my home for three nights to take care of my elderly dog, and she was highly responsive, responsible and incredibly proactive, sent photos and took excellent care of my pup. When my dog had some tummy issues, she helped us follow the vets recommendation to change her diet to white rice only and kept us updated on her condition. I'll be booking with her again! Thanks, Darian.”

About: I love all animals, but I definitely have an affinity for dogs. My dog, Virgil, I had for the last 15 years and, as an energetic border terrier who required lots of walks (I lost about 100 lbs thanks to that guy!) and tons of play, I had the absolute pleasure of keeping him busy well into old age. As time passed and Virg got older, I was able to provide specialized care when he no longer had the pep he used to. I’ve cared for and helped train my partner’s dogs (Ginny and Bernie); two whacky and wonderful, high energy Doodles. I assisted in Crate and Fence training l’il (now BIG) Bernie and, as a couple of ne’er-do-wells who love trying to steal food but can’t eat literally anything, I am well acquainted with taking care of dogs with heavy dietary restrictions. I’m new to the Chicagoland area and presently on the job hunt, so, until otherwise noted, there is ample time for walks, play, and whatever else your furry friends should want to partake in! I find that it’s best to listen to the dogs and that every client has different needs and expectations for their pups. I am very enthusiastic and I very much enjoy the company of dogs, but I also know that every animal has unique needs and a specific constitution and the best way to approach that is from a position of respect and by earning trust. I’ve met some tough nuts to crack along the way, but, invariably, if you meet them on their terms and allow them to make the first move, more often than not, they’re pleased to make your acquaintance. In addition to the accepted responsibilities of care that are ubiquitous with having pets (feeding, watering; plenty of walks and bathroom breaks), I find that learning about a pet and getting to know them will, in turn, inform how you administer care. Our high-energy friends will let us know through body language their desire to walk or play and may require constant attention. Others may have a more relaxed take on life and just want to settle into a nap in their own, safe little nook. Both are great in their own right and it’s just a matter of getting to know one and other and finding the most effective path forward for quality care.
