“Konnie is the best pet sitter we have had by far! She always makes us feel comfortable leaving our pets for the entire trip. She is so responsive and always sends update without being asked. We appreciate the care she provides and we know she loves our animals!”

“Kyle took outstanding care of Archie and Rhea (and kept a watchful eye on our home) while we were on vacation. He asked thoughtful questions and sent regular updates and photos, which gave us great peace of mind. When we returned, both pets were happy, healthy, and clearly well-adjusted. Archie and Rhea absolutely adore Kyle—I wouldn’t hesitate to book him again for future trips.”

“I quite literally could not say enough wonderful things about my experience using Kristen to housesit for me and my fur babies while I was out of town. I am so particular about who I let watch them when I am gone and she exceeded ALL expectations.”

“We have three rescued dogs each with their little quirks and they can be a lot of work but a lot of fun. They love Lori. How great is that? All we want is the dogs to be safe and have a good time with their house sitter and with Lori we/they get both. Highly recommend her. She is wonderful and the dogs miss her when she leaves.”

“This was my first experience with Rover and Laura was absolutely the best I could ask for!!! My dogs are seniors and can require some additional attention. Laura was so patient, kind and kept me up to speed on how things were going at the house! Laura is truly a professional and an animal lover!! I will definitely request Laura for my next getaway! Thank you Laura for making me feel like my boys were well taken care of and loved!!”

“Kylie was fantastic with our girls. We are always apprehensive when having someone new in our home and taking care of our girls but Kylie was absolutely fantastic. We’ve already booked her for another weekend.”

“Han did a wonderful job! So happy we found them! Our furry family was well taken care of, and so was our home. Looking forward to working with them again in the future!”

“5 STAR ⭐️ Jasmin and her pup Thor took the best care of my deaf bulldog, Mouse while I was out of town for 3 nights. I was so worried when I saw that there would be extreme heat during my time away but when I reached out to Jasmin she asked great questions and listened carefully to how I usually handle hot weather to keep Mouse safe and comfortable. Jasmin provided great updates and pictures/video that made me feel able to relax and enjoy my vacation. Jasmin carefully followed Mouse’s complicated feeding and medication needs. I feel Lucky to have met Jasmin, she even provided some training for Mouse and I on a behavioral issue he was having.”

“Darien was awesome! Responded quickly when I would message her. She was great with our pups while we were gone for a long weekend. Sent us pics and communicated often. Definitely will use her again!”

“Elizabeth was a great pup sitter for Jazz and Sully, our 2 rescued Golden Retrievers. She kept us informed and sent photos, and during the meet and greet, we felt very comfortable leaving our "kids" and our home in her care. She left our house nice and clean, having done her dishes and vacuumed, and even changed and washed the bedding from the guest room where she slept. I recommend her highly and will definitely call her for future needs.”

“Michelle watched our babies during our wedding weekend! She was amazing and we were able to relax and really enjoy our wedding without worrying about our babies. We also have a dog with reactive issues and she was great with her. We highly recommend Michelle and our dogs love her!”

“Cassandra was a great cat and house sitter. She was communicative, sent us great pictures and videos, kept the house clean and tidy, and followed instructions for Kitty’s care. Kitty seemed well taken care of and happy. We will definitely reach out to Cassandra for our future travels. Thank you, Cassandra!”

About: My name is Holly. I am an animal lover! I grew up on a farm, so I am familiar with care of many types of animals. I have never not had a dog in my life. I have a flexible schedue, own my own home, work remotely full-time , and am very dependable. When house sitting, i do prefer stays less than 4 days, but willing to consider longer stays. I'm looking forward to meeting and caring for your furry loved ones! Why I love dog sitting I have had at least 1 dog my whole life. I've had breeds ranging from Chihuahuas, to Boxers, to Bull Terriers. Dogs are a blessing and I love having them in my life. I will administer pills and liquid drops, but not shots. I work remotely, so I am fully available to your pet. No children or anyone else in the house, so if your dog or cat needs a relaxing stay, I can provide that.

About: I’m not sure that there’s one specific thing that would set me apart from other caregivers however, my best buddy Trouble crossed the rainbow bridge in February. Trouble was a 13 year old Weimaraner that my daughters & I rescued during Covid. Currently, Im not ready to be a dog mom just yet but I am ready to fill the empty space in my heart! I miss having a fur baby to walk with & playing in the yard. I have experience with large breeds , rescues, and seniors. I do work a full-time job Monday through Friday but I work a hybrid schedule & on the weekends I am an early riser so I could start as early as 5 AM. I am soon to be an empty nester and recently lost my fur baby. I am looking to keep busy with some new free time! In my clients home, I will care for their animals just as they do & keeping with their routine. If their dog needs belly rubs , quiet time, snuggling time & playing with & walking, I will do it all!

FAQs for House Sitting - North Lawrence
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 608 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across North Lawrence. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred North Lawrence walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in North Lawrence maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Lawrence choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in North Lawrence. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
