“We loved Vicki and her husband and so did Rudy! He ran off with her as soon as we got there and that was enough to put me at ease. He had a wonderful time and they treated him as their own. She sent pics during his stay and was in touch often, which I appreciated so much! Her home is lovely and we will 100% be bringing Rudy back for future stays! :)”
“It was the first time I left Kayla with anyone. On our meet and greet I felt very comfortable with Patti and knew she would take good care of my girl. Patti took excellent care of her. I booked with her because she only takes one pet at a time and she had a fenced in backyard. Patti sent me photos of Kayla fetching her ball which is her most favorite thing. I will definitely use her again.”
“Our puppies Duke and Bella had a PHENOMENAL experience with Nathan and Jenna. The communication was incredible and our puppies came home TIRED and so well loved!!! We HIGHLY recommend!!!”
“Sauddi was amazing! She was incredibly kind and helpful during the booking process and made sure we both had the information we needed ahead of time. She was incredibly patient with my dog who wasn't used to the type of stairs she had in her place. She took my dog out on long walks despite the cold weather and made sure she had plenty of other stimulation. I will definitely use her again!”
“My 16 year old Chihuahua Molly had a wonderful stay with Anita and her family. Her dog, Fern, is sweet and mellow and quickly became Molly's BFF. Anita is patient and positive in dealing with older doggy issues. We really appreciate that Molly has such a comfortable place to stay when we are out of town. :)”
“My original sitter canceled the morning before my trip. I was frantically trying to find a new sitter and Kathleen let me book quickly without hesitation. I am so thankful for that! I recieved messages and pictures while away and I could tell Myles had a great time and was well taken care of. Thanks again!!”
“I had a great experience boarding my dog (Bowser). Kristen was friendly, caring, and professional, and it was clear that she genuinely loves animals. I felt comfortable knowing Bowser was in good hands while I was away. Bowser was well cared for, happy, and healthy when I picked him up. Her home was clean and well maintained. Kristen sent me daily updates and pics. I can tell she took the time to make sure Bowser was comfortable and received the attention he needed. I truly appreciate the peace of mind Kristen gave me while I was away. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a safe, caring, reliable and affordable place to board their furry family member. We will definitely be back! 🐾❤️”
“We are very grateful to Saraís, a very kind girl, who took care of our beloved dog Todd for 1 week in her house. She picked him up and droped him off to our house as well. She always kept us in touch with our dog and sent us pictures of him. We are pretty sure that Todd had a great time at Saraís's house. Woof woof! ??”
“Stephanie was professional, knowledgeable and nurturing to our big baby German Shepherd. Throughout our 12 day vacation we received numerous communications about her health and wellbeing. We were able to relax and enjoy our time away knowing that our pup was being taken care. We highly recommend Stephanie and will continue to partner with her to take care of our most precious family member.”
“I cannot say enough about Heather and Daniel! We had them keep our 3 fur babies for a month while we were on vacation. They treated them as their own and we received pictures and videos everyday. It says a lot when you have a fur baby with high anxiety, yet she accepts her new caretakers without worry. We have more vacations planned and will definitely be using Heather and Daniel again. I also learned through this experience that our boxer loves babies ?”
“Jan was so very kind with my baby Bentley, she updated me and made me feel rest assured with check-ins and pictures. I was happy to leave my mini schnauzer with her as she also has 2 mini schnauzers which made my pups stay extra fun to have playmates. I loved she has a fenced in yard where the dogs can run & play and feel free. Bentley loved her attention and cuddle time. I'm very picky when it comes to my baby and wanted to not worry and I felt she made me relax he was in good hands. I will definitely call on her for the next trip!!”
“Danielle was very responsive and took great care of my two pups. I knew I didn’t have to worry at all and that they would be in great hands while I was away. I will definitely use her again! Thank you so much for taking care of Liberty and Poppy!”
“Our dogs can get easily stressed when away from home. When I picked them up from Madison's, they looked relaxed. They were excited to see me but also very much at ease at Madison's which was great to see. I am very glad we know Madison now and look forward to her caring for our boys again!”
“Pat is the best as always. This was our second time using Pat. We are first time dog parents and worry about our pups energy and being too much but Pat always assures us how comfortable Finnegan is there and we are so thankful for that. Pat truly loves all dogs. Always easy to communicate with and provides plenty of updates and pictures.”
“Sam had a great weekend with Nan and her husband. He had a lot of outdoor time on the beautiful weekend, play time, and cuddle time. She sent many pictures showing how his weekend was going. I definitely recommend having Nan board your dog and would be happy to have Nan watch Sam again.”
“I would absolutely recommend Makenzie! Makenzie and her fiancé were amazing with Wubbie!! They updated me with pictures of them going on fun little adventures and walks made me feel so comfortable knowing that Wubbie was safe and having a fun time with them!!!!”

I had a wonderful experience with Vicki! She took excellent care of our dog Arya, kept me updated, and took many pictures of her throughout the week. I felt completely at ease knowing she was in good hands. Vicki was very understanding when my flight was delayed. She offered to keep her for another night. Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their North Lawrence home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your North Lawrence.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your North Lawrence sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
