“Mallory was beyond amazing, both for my pets as well as my house, going above and beyond for us, particularly in a tricky time. I would certainly book with Mallory again in a heartbeat.”

“Victor did great sitting for Ellie, kept her company all day, listened to her needs, gave her food and her medicine. Would absolutely book him again in the future!”

“Brittany watched my dog while I was out of town, and did an amazing job! She took her on long walks and sent tons of pictures, and I couldn't be happier with the visit! Brittany definitely went above and beyond, and I know my dog had a great time with her! I can't recommend Brittany enough!”

“Oli is wonderful! She stayed at our house and watched our pup for a few nights and it was a great experience. Oli provided updates and photos as needed and she took such great care of our pup and home. She went above and beyond!”

“Katie is the BEST! She watched my dog for a week in my home and was very communicative, kind, and caring for our dog. Can’t recommend her enough. Thank you!”

“Kate was wonderful with my Ivy! I contacted her last minute when another pet sitter fell through and she was so quick to help. She even met me the morning I was heading out to chat, go over everything for Ivy, and meet her to make sure everyone was comfortable. Ivy is a bit more medically complex with her chronic enteropathies and Kate did a great job managing her diet and medications. I would absolutely use her again.”

About: Hi! I’m a Richmond-based pet sitter with a special focus on cats. I take a calm, fear-free, positive-reinforcement approach to care, which means meeting animals where they are and letting trust build naturally. I’m especially experienced with caretaking for sick, chronically ill, and disabled cats. I understand firsthand how important it is to be patient, attentive, and extra caring to these precious creatures. I’m often told, “My pet doesn’t like anyone — I can’t believe they're letting you pet them.” I think animals respond to my quiet energy and respect for their boundaries. My philosophy is to never rush interaction, and I’m attentive to body language and stress signals. While cats are my specialty, I’m also comfortable with smaller dogs of varying temperaments and energy levels. My goal is always the same, to make your pet feel safe, understood, and cared for. I'm mostly self employed. I make my own schedule and can largely tailor it to your pet's needs. I tend to be a night owl so I can take care of them late into the night if needed. I can also bring my work to your home if full housesitting is preferred! I care for pets in their own environment for two reasons: I am unable to host them with my animals, and I believe they are most comfortable where they are most familiar. I follow each pet’s established routine closely. This includes feeding schedules, litter box or yard care, medications, enrichment, and any specific behavioral preferences. For cats, I prioritize calm entry, gentle engagement, and giving them the option to approach me first. I’m attentive to subtle stress signals and adjust my interaction level accordingly. I’m comfortable administering medications and monitoring for changes in appetite, litter habits, or behavior. For dogs, I provide structured walks, play, and positive reinforcement while maintaining consistent boundaries. I keep spaces clean, send detailed updates with photos, and aim to leave your home exactly as I found it (or better).
“Sara was great! We left our Nailah home for a night while we went on a trip and she took good care of her. She sent pictures as well as updates while we were gone and our Nailah really seemed to love her. Would highly recommend 10/10”

About: I have had dogs since I was a child. I’ve walked neighbors dogs. Volunteered to raise puppies for service dog organizations. I volunteer at the RACC animal shelter as well during the week Pet care fits naturally into my routine. I’m a full-time college student, but my afternoons and evenings are open for walks, visits, feeding, and playtime. My weekends are fully available, which gives me even more flexibility for longer stays or extra attention. I already spend a lot of my free time caring for and hanging out with my own pets, so adding pet sitting to my schedule feels like a perfect and natural fit. I provide attentive, reliable care for pets in their own home, maintaining their normal routines to reduce stress. I ensure fresh food and water, daily exercise, playtime, litter or yard cleanup, medication if needed, and plenty of affection. I also keep the home tidy, bring in mail, and send regular updates with photos so clients feel confident and reassured while they’re away.

“Emily is wonderful!! Our dog has anxiety and Emily was totally understanding and they were soon best buds! Emily was great at checking in and keeping us updated. Highly recommend!”

“Amanda was the best! Sent lots of pictures and updates over the few days she watched our dog and cat. The animals looked like they were having a great time and getting a lot of attention. We look forward to having her watch our animals whenever we’re out of town next!”

“Egon is an absolutely delightful and professional person. they did a stellar job with my shy and sometimes moody feline “roommate” Mabel. not only did Egon provide exceptional updates throughout their stay, but they were so very kind and extra patient with Mabel. i knew Mabel was in the greatest of care with Egon. i will be reaching out to them again for any care Mabel may need in the future!”

“Can’t say enough good things about Christine! Very accommodating, thoughtful and was ultra committed to my dog’s wellbeing. Even went out of her way for Del to be more comfortable, and for me to feel at ease. Easily a 10/10 sitter. Will def book again!”

“Sarah was amazing! So responsive and helpful being up to watch our little pup for a last minute trip we had coming up! She took great care of our guy and he was sooo excited to meet her. Thank you Sarah! Can’t wait to book her again :)”

“Nina did a fantastic job dog sitting for Gertie and Gussie! She was reliable, caring, and kept us updated with photos and messages while we were away. Both dogs were happy, well cared for, and clearly loved spending time with her. We highly recommend!”

“We had an excellent experience with Camryn. Her communication was outstanding from start to finish, quick responses, clear updates, and plenty of photos that gave us real peace of mind while we were away. Leaving senior dogs is never easy, but we truly felt comfortable and confident they were in good hands. She was attentive to their needs, patient, and clearly experienced with older dogs (and a mischievous cat). We came home to happy, well-cared-for pups and a smooth overall experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again.”

Mary Munford pet parents share their Rover experiences
Our first time using Rover. Saw Mallory had fantastic reviews so we decided to go with her. From the meet and greet to us returning from our trip, everything was great! Our pets took to her right away, she sent pics and updates throughout her stay, and our home was great when we returned. We will definitely be using Mallory again for future travels. We highly recommend her!

We couldn’t be happier with the care our boys received while we were on vacation last week. As always, she did an absolutely fantastic job! It gives us such peace of mind knowing our pups are in loving, capable hands whenever we’re away. She’s reliable, communicative, and truly treats our boys like her own. We always come home to a happy, well-cared-for pups — and that says everything. We’re so grateful to have someone we trust completely and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable and caring dog sitter!

Our dogs had a wonderful time during Haley’s housesitting. They were so happy and tired when we got home. One of our dogs is high energy and the other is a senior who takes medication. Haley did a great job with both of them and spent extra time with them. We got great pictures of them having a blast and cuddling.

Marjorie watched Olive while we went out of town for one night and she was great! There was great communication, she sent us pictures & updates and left our place clean! Our dog is a Velcro dog and she treated her with kindness and patience! I cannot recommend her enough as a dog sitter!

Savannah and Tillie are now besties! Savannah was amazing—she took great care of my Tillie Bean and my home. She sent regular updates, brought in packages as needed, and kept everything clean and well-maintained while I was away. I’ll definitely have her stay at my home and watch Tillie again in the future.
