About: I have had at least one dog all of my life. Often times more than one. Currently living with just one Lab who would love a visitor/playmate. I foster emergency overnights on rescue transports. I have been a caregiver for dogs of all ages and kinds; puppies, senior dogs, and dogs with separation anxiety. I have grandcats I house sit for and have also taken care of chickens. I work from home with tons of flexibility. I have one adult child at home in graduate school, they have a health condition which keeps them home most days too, so your pet is never short of human companionship. I live in a great neighborhood for walks on a leash. I provide dog sitting in a one story home with a large, wooded fenced yard in central Richmond neighborhood. Great for dogs of all ages and abilities. I live with one Lab that's a large couch potato. He also likes his human to sit outside with him rather than be out there all by himself. So we spend lots of time outside together. Pets are permitted on furniture and the bed, whatever makes them feel at home. I do have a large dog crate that can be set up if needed, but only if requested as it will put your pet at ease. The most important factor is making sure your pet feels comfortable, keeping their routines and habits to lessen the stress of a new place.

About: Hi there! My name is Genevieve! I worked at the Richmond SPCA for 4 years. My two pitties at home (Nola and Brick) are leash reactive. With my own dogs and experience of working at an animal shelter I’ve seen almost everything. I have experience with medication administration- injectable, sub q fluids, and oral. I also have experience with behaviors like reactivity, resource guarding, mouthiness, fearfulness, ect. I take a fear free, positive reinforcement approach. My goal is to make sure your pets needs are being met so they feel safe and you feel comfortable and at ease. I have experience with special needs cats as well! I quit my job and went back to school! I can care for your pets before 9:00 am and after 11 am Monday and Wednesday-Friday. I can care for your pet on Tuesdays from 1 pm onwards. I have experience with homes without backyards and am willing to do a walk around the block or whatever it might be for a quick potty break. I always go outside to my fenced in backyard with my dogs to make sure everyone is safe and will do so with yours. Your cats will be kept strictly indoors!

“Catherine was truly an angel, and I honestly don’t think we could have asked for a better sitter! She stayed with our two dogs for about a week while we were out of town, and during that time our air conditioning unexpectedly went out for two days. Instead of leaving or making it our problem, she handled everything with so much patience and grace, communicated with us throughout, and stayed with the dogs the entire time to make sure they were comfortable and cared for. She even coordinated with our landlord, who later told us she was the best house sitter/Rover he’d ever met - which says a lot! When we got home, our dogs were so happy, relaxed, and completely themselves. There was zero stress or adjustment period, and honestly, I don’t even think they missed us with Catherine around! 😂 She went so far above and beyond what anyone could reasonably expect, and it’s obvious she genuinely loves the animals she cares for.
