Availability
I currently work in the public school system, so I follow the academic calendar of RPS, including holiday breaks and summer break. My schedule is only appropriate for dogs who can go 4-8 hours between potty breaks.

Safety, trust & environment
For cats (dog care is listed below): With cats, building trust is key. When I first arrive in the home, many cats are often scared to come out and meet me. During the first few visits, I try to go about my business as usual and narrate my actions out loud. This allows the cats to get acclimated with my voice, scent and presence. Once a cat develops the courage to emerge from their trusty hiding spot, I sit quietly and allow them to approach me. Part of this trust building process includes accepting that some cats will never want to come out and greet me or be touched, and that's okay! I will always respect your cat's boundaries. For dogs: At this time, I am only accepting small dogs who are housebroken. At this time, I am unable to provide dog walks, and will happily make up for it with plenty of playtime and mental stimulation in a fenced in backyard.
Information Egon P. would like to know about your pet
You will find that I am highly inquisitive about the needs and quirks of your animal companions, and this is for good reason! The more I know going in, the better care I can provide (and the less I have to text you with questions while you're on vacation!). I like to schedule a phone call prior to a meet & greet so we can touch base and go over some details. This allows both of us to determine whether I am the best sitter for your companions.
A typical day
On weekdays, food first! Followed by a potty break for dogs, litter scooping for cats. Then, I am off to work. When I return, another potty break for the pups, dinner for the house, and an evening full of playtime and snuggles for all who desire them!

Pet care experience
Note: Please submit booking requests at least 14 days prior to the starting date if you are a new client. I am unable to accommodate last minute requests at this time. Thank you! I've been taking care of cats personally and professionally for many years. During this time, I've developed a fascination with cat behavior - their movements, prey drive, communication methods and more! As any passionate cat-parent knows, our little furballs rule the roost. They've got the reflexes, wit, and stubborn determination to get what they want when they want it, and I have to say, I admire them that much more for it. I will, on occasion, also take on small dogs. So, if you're looking for a sitter who can do both, please do reach out!

Had another great experience with Egon! They took excellent care of our trio of kitties--as always! We know our kitties and home are in good hands when we work with Egon :)

We love working with Egon, and they take such great care of our kitties and house. We always know our pets are in good hands when they housesit for us. Thanks, Egon!

Egon is an absolutely delightful and professional person. they did a stellar job with my shy and sometimes moody feline “roommate” Mabel. not only did Egon provide exceptional updates throughout their stay, but they were so very kind and extra patient with Mabel. i knew Mabel was in the greatest of care with Egon. i will be reaching out to them again for any care Mabel may need in the future!

Egon was fabulous as always! We love working with them and always know our kitties are in good hands. We'll def be hiring them again!
