Katie and Jeremy were the best Rovers I’ve ever had, and their home was our dog’s dream set up! With the doggy door and back porch and gated in yard, he was able to enjoy lots of time outside! They were great in sending us photos and videos and did not hesitate in spoiling him with love and bacon bits. Popeye had a great stay with!

About: I absolutely love dogs and cats. I am willing to do check ins when you go out of town. I love all size dogs. If i do check ins I can come pretty much anytime of the day. I am also available on weekends. I am very responsible and trustworthy. I have watched dogs for many friends and family members. If you let me watch your dogs i will take great care of them for you! Dogs are the best animals and they are fun to be around. I also cat sit. I have a diabetic cat so I know a lot about cats. I will board your dog at my house but they have to be friendly with young kids and another dog and cat. I am also not too far from Weaverville. I’m a stay at home mom so I can be available all different times of the day. I am available weekdays and on the weekends. I do not have a fenced in yard but we do have bushes that separate it from the road and I can stay outside with them.

Brody is great! I felt very comfortable leaving my 2 dogs with him, his set up is perfect and there are river dogs around for them to play with all week. Brody treats the pups like his own and we will definitely use him again!

Nancy did an excellent job caring for Jimmy, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the start, she was kind, professional, and very communicative. She kept me updated and made sure Jimmy was comfortable, happy, and well cared for during his entire stay. It was clear that she truly loves animals and treats them like her own. I had complete peace of mind knowing Jimmy was in such good hands. I would absolutely book with Nancy again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable and caring sitter.

Caroline is very communicative & friendly. She invited us over for a meet & greet beforehand to ensure Lilly would be comfortable and would get along with her dog Louie. She provided great care for Lilly and sent lots of pictures and messages to let us know how things were going. I would definitely recommend her and will be bringing Lilly back again very soon!

Terri has watched my pup a few times now and it's been great each time! The most recent time was for a whole week. I was concerned about finding someone who could handle a wild and not-yet fully trained puppy and Terri has been so sweet, gracious and relaxed about everything. She even sent me photo/video so I could see how Zelda was doing. I love the farm atmosphere that Terri provides. She's clearly a true animal lover and Zelda seems to enjoy spending time visiting with both the human and animal friends she's made at Terri's. So glad we found someone capable, trustworthy and kind!

Thank you Jen for taking such great care of my pup! I could tell Pippa was instantly drawn to you during the meet and greet (which doesn’t happen with just anyone.) Through daily updates and photos, Pippa looked relaxed, happy, and most of all LOVED. I would definitely recommend Jen to anyone!

About: I grew up with feisty terriers, and now have a high energy Dalmatian. I’m up for the task! It’s a pleasure to play hard, and get them tuckered out for cuddle time. By spending time with our Dalmatian, high energy pups will meet their match and older dogs will tap into their youth. Looking forward to it! I work from home, and already have dog-care built into my routine. Our fenced in yard makes it easy for them to run-around. Daily walks around the block. We have a fenced in yard, great for them to run free. We’ve got dog beds, fun toys and lots of fresh water always available.

Alexis is a really considerate sitter who took the time to send us a lot of photos of Dory and also take her on a few walks. She has an enclosed yard which was handy and a very comfortable apartment - I have no doubt our dog slept on every cushion within jumping range. Would highly recommend Alexis and will contact her again in the future!

Richard was watching my puppy when hurricane Helene hit. Despite the chaos and crisis he stayed in communication as best he could and kept her safe the entire time I was gone. Words can’t express my gratitude. Aside from that, he was very accommodating of her puppy needs and took great care of her.

If I could give 10 stars I would! Emma is absolutely great super caring for my 7 month old German Shepherd. My pup left happy and exhausted from playing and having fun even left with a new toy! Will definitely be coming back next time I need to board my pup. Thanks so much for giving my pup a great first boarding experience.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Marshall home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
