“Katie &Jeremy are amazing multiple updates daily with great pictures. My dog couldn’t be happier when he comes home from being with them. I have booked with them multiple times. They are amazing sitters.”

“Hope and her family are animal lovers and it shows. They were flexible about drop off and pickup times and weren't offended when I asked for a meet and greet before leaving our dog.”

“So happy to have found Sarah and her sweet family. Lincoln stays with ease and seems right at home in their environment. The backyard for Lincoln is an extra plus.”

“Kristin and her son were amazing with Jesse. He did so well with them and had so much fun in their huge yard with other dogs to play with. She gave updates on how he was doing with cute and funny pictures. I would definitely recommend her and would love to have her dogsit Jesse for me again.”

“Haley was terrific! Very very accommodating and knowledgeable about dogs. My dog absolutely had a great time. Loved Haley and clearly was in great shape when I came to pick her up. I would definitely use Haley again!”

“All I can say is that I didn’t know Georgie could possibly be more spoiled than he already was but he is and that is a good thing! Made the entire trip away perfect knowing he was being so loved. Anyone who adores their dog and considers them their baby and not just a pet, do not hesitate to trust Toni to care for them.”

“This was Lucy’s second stay, and I’m so happy she has somewhere she feels loved to vacation! We get plenty of communication, and photos and video letting us know that she’s having fun while we’re away.”

“Rick went above and beyond to make sure our weird, skittish (and lovable!) dog got settled in and comfortable while we were away. He took Gizmo out of the house for hikes, which really made him happy. Couldn’t recommend him more to take great care of your pups.”

“I can’t say enough good about Melody. We would leave Gaia in her care any time. If she lived close to us and we were going away for a month, we would leave Gaia in her care and feel 100% secure. She has a lovely environment for a dog ( or a human), made our dog feel instantly comfortable, and showed her a really good time.”

“Wow! Kristin and Seth and family so great...Charley and Lady Bird came home healthy, happy, and we were so pleased. You can just feel their love of dogs and commitment to taking care of those in their charge. couldn't be happier and will definitely use again!!”

About: I currently am working as an ER veterinary nurse. Previously, I was a nurse at a general practice hospital for 6 years, and prior to that, worked at an additional hospital as well as a pet store with exotics. I am more than comfortable administering any method of medication, and taking care of your medical needs, special needs, or senior fur babies. I own two friendly dogs, two sassy cats, and a baby ball python myself- variety is the spice of life. If you’re looking for a medically experienced caretaker for your kids, I’m your gal! *also have grooming experience with medical needs animals I just moved to the Asheville area, so Im excited to explore around. I do work as a ER veterinary nurse in the area, but I still plan on working Rover into my schedule! I have two friendly dogs, who will play with dogs that want to play, ignore the ones who don’t, and will be gentle with the young and little ones. I do not have a yard, but I am very active and used to taking my large dogs for >3-4 mile walks daily.

“Thank you so much for taking such amazing care of Ash!! We were so nervous leaving him for the first time and you immediately alleviated all of our fears! Ash felt right at home and you treated as your own family. Your constant updates and pictures were so thoughtful. Thank you so much!”

About: I have been surrounded by pets my whole life. Growing up, we always had dogs, cats, and birds. When I moved to the U.S, I lived in the country side with many dogs and thousand of birds (literally). Now, I have a little Chihuahua mix; he is like my baby. I also help my friends sitting their dogs when they are out of town. I love animals; I like to play with them and give them a lot of attention. I have experience administering medication to pets either orally or injectable . I am educated and trustful person who will respect your home and your pets. I am able to pass a background check if it is required. I have a cellphone and my own car. My husband and I both work from home, so your dog will never be left alone. Our jobs are very flexible, which means we can take your dog for walks during the day. I have a very friendly old Chihuahua. My house is big, comfy and very clean. It's at the end of a cul-de-sac, so there's no traffic.
About: I grew up surrounded by animals from dogs and cats to chickens and so caring for pets has been second nature for as long as I can remember. As an adult, I have volunteered at multiple animal rescue centers and was able to rescue and raise 2 wonderful dogs who were a huge part of our lives until they passed. More recently, I’ve worked as a house and pet sitter through TrustedHouseSitters, where homeowners regularly rely on me to care for both their homes and their beloved animals while they’re away. Whether your pet needs dedicated supervision, routine medications, or overnight care, I treat every pet in my care with the same patience, attention, and love I’d give my own. What I Offer Active Dog Walking All Ages & Sizes: Comfortable handling everything from high-energy puppies to large dogs up to 110 pounds. Specialized Care: Experienced in oral and topical medication administration, house sitting, and maintaining consistent daily schedules. Peace of Mind: Honest, dependable care for both your pets and your home while you're away. I'm currently working in a contract capacity and so my schedule is incredibly flexible! This means that I can adapt my work schedule around your pet's needs! I have a clean, safe, non-smoking, multi-level home in Asheville North Carolina with a small unfenced yard with my husband, Jeff. My home is close to trails and walking paths so me and your beloved pet will have plenty of opportunities to get our daily exercise. When your pet is staying in my home they will have free reign of the home if that's something they're accustomed to! However, if your furry friend has limitations such as crate training requirements, we can certainly accommodate that too! I currently have no other pets, so your pet would be king or queen of the house during thier stay!
“Allison was great with Kevin and made us feel at ease on our vacation. She sent daily updates with pictures and details about their day, and made him feel right at home. I’d highly recommend her and will use her in the future!”

“Fernanda was great with our dog that we boarded with her! She was kind and communicative, and sent pictures daily. It was clear that our dog felt very comfortable in her care. We would use her again!”

“Kathleen was absolutely wonderful with our dog, Remy! From the moment we connected, she was attentive, patient, caring, and kind. She kept in touch with us daily, sending sweet updates and adorable pictures that gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. It was clear Remy was happy, healthy, and in loving hands. Kathleen went above and beyond by meeting me at a convenient halfway point between our homes, making the entire process so easy and stress-free. She was a delight to work with—professional, thoughtful, and genuinely passionate about caring for animals. We will absolutely be using her again, without question. Highly recommend Kathleen to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate dog sitter!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Ivy
Chelsea is a wonderful, kind spirited person & it shows in her love for animals. Our Ruby had excellent care thru out the week. Chelsea prepared Ruby's homemade meals as instructed. During our time away we received texts & videos of Ruby having fun. Chelsea's dog Oliver was also a friendly gracious host. Her daughter Zoe was caring & loving with Ruby.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Ivy home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Ivy.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Ivy sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
