“Sparky and Angel were so happy to visit with Jay and Nancy again! This time for a whole week! We felt so comfortable leaving them in Jay and Nancy's care. Nancy sent photos every day showing us what a great time they were having, and that they were happy and healthy and having fun:) They are loving, caring people, and have a lot of property where the dogs can safely run and explore. We would not hesitate to entrust our fur kids to Jay and Nancy, and highly recommend them. Thanks for letting us enjoy a great family vacation.”

“Alexis lives on such a beautiful property with plenty of room for our dog to run around and enjoy the open space! King had the best time. Alexis was super communicative and accommodating for our baby! We would definitely book again!”

“Brody and his Dad are the best. The set up is perfect..the dogs loved the large fenced yard to run and play. They came home happy and loved. Moose is an older Shitzu mix, with cataracts and is hard of hearing, but Brody gave him extra love, during his week long stay, and sent photos and videos. Bentley is a 7yr old toy Manchester Terrier, who had the time of his life playing with the other dogs!Brody (and his Dad) cared for our dogs so well. A big thanks!”
“I cannot recommend Kali for you enough! SHE IS A GEM! My first time sitting my dog was a terrible experience and I was terrified to sit him again but a family emergency popped up and I came across her profile. Her house is clean and she was so nice during the meet and greet, my dog Smokie adores her. Not only did she go over plans on what to do with Smokie while we were away but wrote down a detailed list of everything we told her which sits out in her home in case an emergency happened on her end that anyone coming to watch her own dogs and our dog would know exactly what he needed. She also provided us with all of her emergency contacts so we knew anyone who may be in her home. She also has close contact with the vets in the area if something should happen with our pet. She is amazingly organized and prepared. The dogs have plenty of space to roam and she even had a quiet room for the dogs that can’t roam if she had to pop out of the house and can’t bring the dogs. I will never even consider another sitter after booking with her because they all pale in comparison!”

“Sarah watched our dog for two nights while we stayed at the Grove Park Inn. This was a great option since the hotel pet fee was $350! Thank you, Sarah, for caring for our pup!”

“Kathleen was absolutely wonderful with our dog, Remy! From the moment we connected, she was attentive, patient, caring, and kind. She kept in touch with us daily, sending sweet updates and adorable pictures that gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. It was clear Remy was happy, healthy, and in loving hands. Kathleen went above and beyond by meeting me at a convenient halfway point between our homes, making the entire process so easy and stress-free. She was a delight to work with—professional, thoughtful, and genuinely passionate about caring for animals. We will absolutely be using her again, without question. Highly recommend Kathleen to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate dog sitter!”

“I can’t say enough good about Melody. We would leave Gaia in her care any time. If she lived close to us and we were going away for a month, we would leave Gaia in her care and feel 100% secure. She has a lovely environment for a dog ( or a human), made our dog feel instantly comfortable, and showed her a really good time.”

“Rick is our go-to dog care for our nervous (but sweet) Sheltie. He takes such great care of him and communicates extremely well about how he’s doing on his stay. We love Rick!”

“Kyle was a great pet sitter! She is super friendly, very responsive in communication, and provides steady updates on how things are going. Her dog, Louie, is a total sweetie and Raz obviously liked hanging out with him. Raz was happy and healthy when I picked him up, which is the whole point! I would definitely recommend Kyle and look forward to contacting her again.”

“Haley was terrific! Very very accommodating and knowledgeable about dogs. My dog absolutely had a great time. Loved Haley and clearly was in great shape when I came to pick her up. I would definitely use Haley again!”

“Jess, Danny, their daughters and pets were fantastic with Opal! They gave me daily updates about how she was integrating into their household and it made me feel at ease to know she was being well loved while I was away. They have kids, a dog and cats. Opal had never spent any time with cats or children and she did great with them! I’m so glad she had such an enriching experience as I want for her to be a well socialized dog. I’m a proud dog mom!! Their updates included all the details a pet owner would want to know & we’re really heart warming to receive. Opal enjoyed being loved on by their sweet daughters, rough housing with their dog and cuddling with their cat. She truly was a part of the family. I would love to use their services again because I know she had a really great time and felt right at home! Thank you Jess and Danny!”

“Molly was so wonderful to coordinate with and sent lots of pictures of Bailey. It looks like Bailey had the best day in the sunshine with Molly’s dogs. I appreciated that she took the time to do a meet and greet beforehand. I definitely recommend Molly.”

“Fernanda was wonderful! She made me feel very comfortable leaving my dog with her. She was very flexible and caring for Maggie and I would not hesitate to rebook her if I need pet sitting services again! Great experience.”

“Sonya Lyn was fantastic with Daisy. I will definitely be calling her the next time I need someone to care for my dog. She's very bubbly and you can tell how much she loves dogs. She's comfortable caring for them and knows how to accommodate each unique personality. She took Daisy on long trail walks that she loved! Sonya Lyn sends great photos too, so you can be sure your pup is doing well and in good care. Thank you Sonya Lyn!”
“Rosaria was so great! She sent plenty of pictures of my dog while I was away. She even cooked fresh food to add to the pups meals. My dog definitely had his own little vacation with her while we were away!”

“Nate and Bilbo are fantastic! My two Boston terriers stayed with Nate for 10 days and its clear they had a great time. I got awesome pictures every day and Nate responded quickly to all of my texts. I will definitely be using Nate's services again. I can't say enough good things and I highly recommend him!”

About: Grew up with dogs, speak their language. I’m patient and active and just want them to be the happiest doggo they can be! Flexible schedule and am willing to build a relationship with your dog for next time you go out of town. My large fenced in yard rocks too! If you are comfortable with me doing outings with your doggo, I have a handful of trails I visit daily. Let me know their routine and ways to have fun and I got you! They are our fur babies and should be treated as such. I’m confident your pooch and I will be good buds by the time you get back :) Walk in the morning, work from home during the day so multiple potty breaks in the yard, and a longer walk in the afternoon. Breakfast and dinner consistently around 9:30 and 6:30. Weekends are for adventures! I make sure each dog has their set up with familiar foods and scents and toys. There is defined potty time, walking, playtime, and downtime so each dog gets 1:1 attention.
About: I genuinely love animals, and spending time with them never feels like work to me. I’m an active person who loves walks and playtime with energetic pups, but I’m equally happy giving a cat some quiet company and affection or simply respecting the space of a pet who prefers to do their own thing. While I’m new to offering services through Rover, I’m not new to pet sitting. I’ve cared for pets through TrustedHousesitters, including cats, active dogs, and senior pets with different personalities, needs, and routines. I’m also happy to share reviews from my previous sits. I’m a pet mom myself to Daisy, our sweet, social, and playful Golden Retriever. We’re not looking to add another pet to our family right now, but Daisy loves other dogs, so welcoming a friendly pup into our home gives her a chance to make new friends and enjoy some meaningful playtime too. As a pet parent, I know how much peace of mind comes from knowing your animal isn’t simply being “watched.” I want them to feel safe, comfortable, loved, and genuinely cared for while you’re away. That might mean long walks and playtime, lots of snuggles and attention, or giving a shy or independent pet the space and patience they need to feel comfortable. When I leave Daisy with someone, I love knowing that she’s not just safe, but actually having a good time. I want her stay to feel like a fun little getaway rather than being left behind. That’s the same feeling I hope to give you when you leave your pet in my care. Whether I’m walking your pup, checking in on your cat, or welcoming your dog into our home, my goal is simple: to treat your pet with the same attention, kindness, and care I’d want for my own. 🧚♀️🐾✨ My schedule is very flexible during the week, which gives me plenty of time for walks, play, potty breaks, and lots of attention. I primarily work as a gigging musician on weekends, so I tend to keep most of my bookings to weekdays. If I’m available for weekend boarding, my husband is also home and helps with pet care, so your pup will still have plenty of company and attention. My Rover calendar will always reflect my current availability! We have a spacious home with plenty of room for pets to relax and play, including a puppy-proofed area where dogs can safely hang out and make themselves at home. We also have a large yard that is currently unfenced, so dogs are always supervised and leashed outside. We’re having a fence installed soon! Our sweet, social Golden Retriever puppy, Daisy, loves other dogs and would be thrilled to welcome a friendly pup for a stay and playdate. We live on a quiet little street that’s great for walks, and I’m also happy to load up the pups for longer adventures at nearby parks, greenways, and trails. I want your dog’s stay to feel as comfortable and familiar as possible, so tell me all about their normal routine: where they sleep, whether they’re crate-trained, feeding schedule, favorite activities, quirks, and anything else that helps them feel at home. We’re flexible and happy to accommodate what works best for your pup. 🐾

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Bluff home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Bluff.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Bluff sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
