Vanessa, thank you so, so much for taking great care of our pup. This was our first long time away from him and we’re as happy to see him as he is to see us. Thanks for all the great communication along the way.

About: I have such a big heart for animals and a connection to them with a passion for taking care of any type of animal! I grew up taking in rescues with my family at home. We have rescued a senior yorkie, four kittens, and a deaf kitty. I currently have one 4 year old maltipoo at home and one goldfish! In the past we had fish, guinea pigs, hamsters, bearded dragons, and lizards at home. Throughout the years I love participating in anything involving innocent fur babies. For two years I pet sit my sisters french bulldog with GI issues and my brothers cat. At the same time I was in a P.A.W.S (protecting animals without stability) club in high school. I currently volunteer at two animal shelters since 2022. After high school I pursued an associates degree in Biology while participating in a veterinary assistant program. I graduated the program and continued on to getting my first full time job at a veterinary hospital as an approved veterinary assistant! Therefore, I have knowledge on animal anatomy, sickness and care procedures. I plan to complete my Biology degree while working full time and helping to take care of your fur babies 💗 I am currently in school pursuing a science degree while working part time at a hospital. I pet sit, house sit and dog walk. I am available weekdays and weekends for any help you need with your fur babies. I am very flexible and work around school to continue my passion of animal care. I will make sure to socialize and spend quality time your pets. I will take them on energetic walks and make sure they are fed and comfortable!

Denise was amazing and took great care of our maltipoo during our week long vacation. We were so worried about leaving him for the week and didn’t want to put him in a kennel. Denise exceeded all our expectations and we are so happy to have found her. I finally feel like we can go away without the stress of leaving him!

Sara was awesome! Our little girl took to Sara right away. We did a meet and greet and when Lulu rolled over and gave Sara her belly we knew she was going to be the right rover. She spent a solid 7+ hours with Lulu and she sent us photos and kept us apprised of Lulu’s comfort with her. We will definitely use again and definitely recommend!

Not only have I dog sat but I have also fostered dogs I am currently working full time but I am capable of checking in on lunch (if dog sitting) and can go straight to them after work I unfortunately don’t have a fenced yard, so we will be going on lots of walks. Kit stayed at our house for 3 nights to watch out two dogs and one cat and we couldn’t be happier with his services. We did a brief meet-and-greet a few days before and I felt very comfortable because Kit has a really kind way about him, which the dogs and cat immediately responded positively to. I knew they would be in great hands! Over the days leading up to and during the pet sitting, Kit was communicative, proactive, reliable, responsive, responsible, and mature. I got lots of great pictures to know they were happy. Kit has a lot of experience taking care of dogs and cats and was comfortable taking on all tasks of feeding, walking, etc., and kept their routine on track. He asked good questions when he was unsure about anything and even dealt calmly with a temporary power outage situation. Kit always had in mind the best interest of our animals and the house and we felt very assured in his capable hands. As a bonus, Kit was very prompt, tidy, and took great care of the house. He even took out the garbage, which was above and beyond and much appreciated! We will definitely reach out to Kit for future pet sitting needs.

About: Hi! I’m Ella, and caring for animals has always been a huge part of my life. I currently work at a small business pet food and grooming store, where I spend my days with dogs and assisting pet owners with their pets’ needs. Being around animals every day has taught me how important patience, attention, and love are when it comes to providing great care. I also have two dogs of my own, so I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else’s care. In addition to caring for my own dogs, I’ve regularly walked and looked after dogs for friends and family, giving me experience with pets of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels. Whether your dog needs a fun walk, playtime, or just someone to keep them company while you’re away, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages, so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry best friend! I’m currently working part-time so I have a flexible schedule and will always do my best to accommodate your pet’s routine. Whether your pet needs morning, afternoon, or evening visits, I’ll provide reliable, on time care and keep you updated throughout each visit! I provide all pet care in my clients’ homes, where your pet is most comfortable and can stick to their normal routine. I’ll carefully follow all feeding, walking, medication, and care instructions while making sure your pet feels safe, happy, and well cared for. I’ll also treat your home with the utmost respect by keeping it clean, secure, and exactly as you left it. You’ll receive regular updates and photos so you can enjoy peace of mind while you’re away.

As a new puppy parent I was very concerned about leaving our little Cavapoo over night but Heather was a wonderful dog-sitter and once I met her I was so relieved knowing our puppy would be in capable hands. She made sure he was taken out to go potty, she played with him and she even managed to give him his pill which I couldn’t get him to take.

About: I’ve been a dog pal of every kind since I was in high school, for my family, friends, and neighbors. Whatever you and your pup may need, I am here! I work part-time from home, so I have a flexible schedule with lots of time to be present with your pups. I am free on the weekends for boarding, and I can be available any time during the week. Dogs are the embodiment of unconditional love. I do what I can to reflect that unconditional love back to them that they give so freely.

Louise was very responsive and easy to work with. She picked up my request very quickly and arranged for a meet and greet with my dogs. They were instantly in love with her! She was very thorough with information about feeding/bathroom/medicine times and even offered to clip their nails if needed. She provided updates as to when she was there and a left a message at my home in regards to the times they were fed and given medicine. I would highly recommend her and would absolutely use her in the future.

About: I’m on Rover to help you out with any / all your pets needs while you’re away! I work full time as a behaviorist in a public school. I don’t dog train, but I am familiar with any techniques that you may need for your pup! I have 3 dogs and 3 cats of my own. I have experience with all breeds! All mutts and senior pups are welcome. I also have experience administering medication to dogs. All dogs of breeds and age deserve attention and love. I’d love it if you let me love your pets as if they are my own too! Thank you for reading this. I am able to work with the families in terms of what they need. My calendar may not always reflect accurately as my times with my full-time job (human) clients do fluctuate. If it is blocked off it means I am 100% unavailable. I don’t recommend myself in terms of full-on puppy training and 24/7 puppy care due to my schedule but I am versed in the training techniques due to my career. I am available weekends for extra care and staying in your home full time. My pets are well loved and taken care of while I care for others. I will never be able to host in my home, so please consider this! I offer in home care, overnight, daily walks, and check ins. Animals will not be hosted in my home due to a senior dog I have who is on medication. For those reasons, home sitting is only available in terms of long care. I have done walks, trips to stores, parks, yard play, and car trips with fur babies for daily drop ins, walks, or overnight stays!

Christina was truly a dream come true - she was so incredibly kind and thoughtful and made sure we didn't have a thing to worry about while we were away from our senior fur girly! She very clearly cares so much and ensures she has all the info your fur baby needs to be comfortable and taken care of. She house sat for us and was so considerate, so if you need someone to trust, look no further! We can't recommend her enough, she's a saving grace when you have to be away! FAQs for House Sitting - Marlboro

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Marlboro on Rover is $98.07 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 8,689 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Marlboro. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Marlboro walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Marlboro maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Marlboro choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Marlboro. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
