“First time booking a dog walker in a place we were traveling in - to check in on our husky and walk him while we went up to Yosemite to hike non dog friendly areas. Haley was communicative, prompt, and spent quality time with our husky. Got home after a day of hiking the park to a happy and content dog. Thanks for taking care of our fluffball! highly recommend if you need help with your pupper.”

About: Mammoth local offering loving dog care and scenic trail adventures, with plenty of exercise, attention, cuddles, and personalized care for every pup, each and every day. “Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine since I enjoy spending time outdoors, staying active, and giving animals plenty of attention, companionship, exercise, and consistent care.” In my home, pets receive a safe, clean, and comfortable environment with plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, and regular potty breaks. In clients’ homes, I follow each pet’s normal routine closely, including feeding schedules, walks, medications if needed, litter box cleaning, and lots of companionship to help them feel comfortable and relaxed while their owners are away.
About: I've lived with dogs for 4 years, and am the go-to pet sitter for many of my friends. Excited for Rover to be an outlet to get more animal time! I'm taking a break from corporate work, so have time to come visit with your furry friend :) when I'm not in the mountains, I'm looking to see them! Dogs are required to be on leash in town in Mammoth, so I will walk your dog on a leash, and follow your rules when visiting them.
“My boy had a great time today with Mark and his dog, Bernie! Mark was super communicative and made this experience very easy for us. He also took some epic photos! I’ll definitely be reaching out the next time I need dog care in June Lake.”

“My pup Forrest loves Heather!! She is his favorite dog walker ever! Heather is easy to communicate with, adaptable and punctual not to mention how happy and exhausted Forrest comes back waiting to see her again. TOTALLY RECOMMEND HER!!”

About: I’ve worked and owned dogs for a young age. I currently have a German Shepherd mix I rescued just last year. I look forward to meeting with and taking care of all your pets needs. I work from home so have availability pretty much any day or time of the week that you may need. That just means more time to play with your pups! I’m very respectful and responsible for others homes and requirements. I have a large yard for pups to play in and enjoy, and often love taking my dog on long walks around Tahoe.
“Ashley recently walked my senior dog for the first time, and I was thoroughly impressed! She was prompt, professional, and communicated clearly both before and after the walk. It was so reassuring to get updates on how my dog did and any important details I needed to know. Even after just one walk, it’s clear that Ashley has a deep understanding of senior dogs and their specific needs. She was mindful of my dog's limitations and made sure the pace and care were just right, which gave me peace of mind. On top of all that, Ashley is incredibly kind and easy to work with. My dog seemed comfortable with her right away. I’m confident that she will continue to be a great match for us. If you’re looking for a reliable, knowledgeable, and compassionate dog walker, I highly recommend giving Ashley a try. You and your dog will be in great hands!”
“Sam was on time and confirmed the end of the walk with a picture of our pup! She was super responsive and booked quickly when I was in a bit of a jam. Would absolutely book her again!”

About: I’ve worked with dogs in various animal shelters since I was 15. I spent four years volunteering at my hometown shelter (Buddy Dog in Sudbury, MA), volunteered at the bulldog rescue while in college, and am now a frequent volunteer at the Whitmore Animal Shelter. I’ve worked with dogs of all shapes, sizes and temperaments. I am a local journalist who works remotely and flexibly from home most days, and I am only in the office on Thursdays. I’m available and able to meet your dog’s needs. Unfortunately, I cannot board pets at my own home due to lease restrictions, but I am happy to come to the pet’s home to tend to their needs.
About: I've grown up with dogs and have always loved them. Many of my friends and relatives often have me care for their dogs while they're away. I currently work Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturdays. While I'm at work my roommates let our dogs out in the yard or we leave the back door open so they can freely come in and out. I have a huge fenced yard where dogs can roam freely. My roommate has a small plot hound named Kiki and I have a mix breed named Joe. Both are spayed/neutered and love playing with other dogs.
About: I’ve been caring for dogs since I was a kid and responsible for our own dog - a German Shepard who I took to obedience school as a young teen. I’ve always especially loved big and/or anxious dogs and I’m quite good at reading an animal’s body language and responding appropriately. I have experience with administering meds to pets (including ones who are pill-adverse) and managing puppy energy. I love both dogs and cats and I look forward to caring for your fluffy fam! I’m an educator who works at an alternative school - which means that during August I’m available all day, every day! During the school year, my availability will shift. I am very respectful and responsible in client homes, which is a skill I developed in my many years offering child care to folks in their homes.
About: I grew up on a farm in Pennsylvania where we had horses, chickens, cows, pigs, a dog and a few cats. I love hanging out with animals any chance I can get! I currently work about 30 hours a week. Most of my schedule is midday so there will always be days I’m completely off, or am present mornings/nights. I am gentle towards animals and am glad to maintain whatever boundaries are normally at place in your home. If you don’t give people food, neither do I! If you don’t have them on the couch, neither do I!
“Was looking for someone on short notice and who was cheap, ended up finding an amazing person. Katrina was extremely friendly, professional, and responsive. You can tell she really loves animals and will love on your Furbaby as if it were her own. Highly recommend her and will be using her for my future walking or sitting needs.”

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
