“We LOVE having Kacie watch our cat Roo. She is so patient and genuinely loves our cat. It makes going away such so easy knowing than someone truly cares about your animal. 100% recommend having Kacie watch your pet!”

“Tyler is fantastic! Super caretaking for my cat over a whole week of meals, medications - lots of attention to detail. A very caring, attentive presence that my normally shy cat really responded to.”

“Vincent is the best! He is so thorough and knowledgeable about dogs. He took our dog out every day for a good walk and even cleaned up some messes the dog had made around the house. He is incredibly trustworthy and kind. I would highly recommend him to anyone.”

About: I've been caring for pets since I was 20 years old. Friends, family members, and neighbors have trusted me to walk, feed, and provide overnight care for their beloved pets. Growing up, I had a poodle and gained experience caring for a variety of other animals, including fish, turtles, hamsters, gerbils, chinchillas, and rabbits. This lifelong experience has taught me how to understand and respond to the unique needs and personalities of different animals. I understand that pets are family, and I treat every animal in my care with the same attention, patience, affection, and respect that I would give my own. I pride myself on being dependable, attentive, and responsive, and I'll make sure your pet receives excellent care while keeping you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you're away. Right now I am available anytime and on the weekends. In September I will be available on Monday Tuesday morning before 10 and after one; Wednesdays all day; Thursday in the morning before 10 and after one; and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday all day. I will play with them in your home. Make sure they’re comfortable and happy just as if they were my own. I will also take them on walks and cuddle with them.
About: I've been taking care of pets since I was a kid, having grown up with two dogs and being part of their care from puppyhood through old age. I've looked after both dogs and cats for neighbors and families to whom I've provided childcare, and for the past year, I’ve regularly walked dogs housed at a county animal shelter. This has been such a rewarding activity and has increased my comfort in interacting with animals with a variety of temperaments. I'm an active person, so I’d love to get outdoors and moving as long as your pup is up for it! If necessary, I can bathe your pet and administer oral medications; if instructed may also be comfortable with injectables. I’m so excited to meet a new furry friend! I’m beginning medical school in the fall and am looking to establish some house/pet sitting relationships while my schedule is super flexible this summer! I love taking long walks and would love company from your pup, but I’m also happy to stop by and hang out with your pet in your home if that’s preferred. I’m available to stay overnight in your home if you’re traveling and need longer term help, too. I will be pet sitting in your home and want to fit into your pet's daily life as seamlessly as possible, so I'm happy to do whatever makes them happy! I'm an active person so whether your pet is high or low energy, I can cater to their needs.
About: I will take care of your best friend with the same love I show my sweet Labrador’s. I will show patience and love with each of your dogs walks and make sure that they get all their business done, plenty of exercise and time for sniffing all the things as well. If I sit over night you will have to specify not to let them on the bed bc I will want to snuggle and make them feel at ease while you are gone. I will send pictures of your pet playing, relaxing and keep you up to date on if he/she used the bathroom and make you feel comfortable while away from your pet because I know it’s not always easy. I will be your best friends, friend.

My husband, Jerry enjoys getting to know the dog’s play and relaxation styles. We have experience in caring for pets with medical needs and senior dogs. We have experience with pure bred, mixed breed, and rescue animals. We also have experience with dogs who use crates, if that is what works for yours. We are lifelong dog owners and currently live with Sailor, our 8 year old rescue beagle mix and our turtle Coco. Between the three of us, someone is usually home, but there may be times when we will be out of the home. Let us know what you need and let’s see if we can make it work! When you book with us, we lock your rates in so you pay the same rate for future bookings. Your dog will be treated like one of the family! We offer free Meet and Greets to make sure everyone is comfortable before the stay begins. We take just one family at a time. We provide individualized support and care based on the information you share. We are also insured. Our home is located in a wooded neighborhood with part of the yard fenced and land trust trails just around the corner.

“Rachel went above and beyond when caring for my dogs over the course of two days. She gave thorough updates and lots of pictures and videos. Our pups looked happy as can be while she was visiting! When we came back home, it was like we’d never left. Both dogs were super happy and content. Rachel’s prompt responses, care, and attention meant the world to us.”

“Ly-Linh is a kind, compassionate pet sister. She asked all the right questions during our first meet, having to care for my senior sheltie. My pups were comfortable right away with her patient, calm demeanor.”

About: I have dedicated the past four years to working in a specialized animal hospital, gaining extensive experience across various departments including ophthalmology, oncology, internal medicine, surgery, and ICU/ER. My time in ICU/ER was particularly fulfilling, as it provided the greatest opportunity for direct patient involvement. I have had the privilege of assisting with the delivery of newborn puppies and kittens, and I have also provided compassionate support to senior animals during their end-of-life stages. My passion lies in delivering high-quality care to you and your beloved companion in the comfort of your home. I am currently seeking to utilize my available time during the week, coinciding with my partner's daytime work schedule, and I believe that providing in-home pet care services would be a fulfilling endeavor for me and the animal friends you love. I am ecstatic to meet with you and explore how I can help fill any gaps in your pets’ in-home care schedule. I’m a helpful and experienced individual who is dedicated to making your day-to-day tasks easier and ensuring your little friend receives the best love and care possible.
“Angela was a great communicator and did exactly what we asked of her. Remy welcomed her right away and enjoyed his walk and playtime. I would highly recommend Angela for your little fur baby.”

“I had never hired someone to watch my cat before. My newest cat was a rescue and took a long time for her to socialize with humans. I was worried leaving her for 2 days without companionship. We were going to a wedding with all my family and friends. Katherine stepped in and spent time with my cat. Katherine was great communicator, sent texts when she was going to be there and I appreciated the pictures showing the cat eating and playing. Definitely would do this again. So easy and gave me peace of mind. Thanks Katherine!”

About: Hi I’m Colleen! I have worked in childcare for 10 years now. In my free time when I’m not with children, I enjoy spending time looking after and having fun with dogs of my friends and family. I love to keep active and I cannot wait to have a dog of my own! I have experience looking after puppies, staying overnights with dogs (for extended periods of time), dog walking, and drop in visits for dogs and cats. I have just moved back to New England after living in North Carolina for 2 years. At the moment, I work part time. So I am looking to fulfill the extra time in my schedule. For your pets safety, I will have them on a leash at all times when going out for walks, and I will always make sure they are hydrated and fed on time according to schedule. When it comes to dog walking, I am very cautious around pets I do not know. My number one priority is to make sure your pet is in good hands as if it it was my own.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
