“Drew was very attentive with my fur babies!! She followed all instructions and was able to adjust when my dog ran to other dogs. She was able to remain calm and wrangle them back in the house. Her communication was superb and I never had to worry about getting ahold of her. 10/10 would recommend!”

“Brittany did a great job taking care of my cat. She responded to messages quickly and would always give me updates about what was going on. I would definitely book her again!”

“Emily is great. I can tell she really cares for animals and my dog (and fish) would agree. She’s punctual and shared plenty of picture updates while we were away. I definitely recommend Emily for your pet sitting needs! 😃”

“Amanda is great! She took amazing care of our dog and cat while we were gone for a weekend. She always arrived on time and sent great photos and updates. She clearly loves all animals and showed both of ours the same love. I would highly recommend and will be booking her again:)”

“Miriam was great with my dogs while I was out of town and the last minute booking wasn't an issue. One of my dogs takes medicine every few hours and Miriam was able to administer it with no problems.”

“Medea has been a life saver! Moose is a reactive boy and she was patient with him. Took great care of Moose and our 3 kitties while we were on vacation. I recommend her to anyone looking for support with a reactive dog. Your doggos will thank you and so will your mental health! Thank you so much Medea!!”

“Jaymee was so kind to come for a meet and greet. She asked great questions and got all necessary information. During her drop-ins, she sent updates, photo and video. I felt safe and comfortable leaving my furball in her care. Will book many times again!”

“Petrea was very efficient and Sweeeet. I’d never been away longer than a day with my kitty. This was a week and she was played with and fed well and got better every day with her fear. Pictures were sent to me every day. Came home to a healthy baby. Thank you Petrea. I’ll use her again for sure!”

“My reactive and nervous dog really took to Abbey well quite quickly. She spent her time playing with him to ensure he was comfortable so I will happily rebook with her as often as I need drop in services!”

“This was my first time using Rover for my dog, I was a little nervous about my dog not being cared for by family. But Isabel was so kind and friendly. She sent me messages and pictures of my Oliver when I was away. I was so impressed by this service. I know my dog is a handful but he seemed very happy the whole weekend. I will absolutely recommend Isabel!! I hope she is available to help next time I am out of town. Thank you so much Isabel!!!”

“I really appreciated all of Tanya's help with my pets. She's reliable, friendly, and trustworthy. I can see why she's so highly recommended...I will definitely book her again!”

“Such a comfort to see how happy our babies were and well taken care of! Joyce is a cat whisperer. We have a diabetic cat who received insulin and everything went well and another sweet girl who is usually very shy and can be unpredictable as far as how playful she can be (sometimes play bites and scratches) but immediately cuddled up to Joyce and was very talkative and looked so happy with her pets. We loved seeing the photos and videos every day. Thank you so much!!!!”

“Karen took wonderful care of our senior dog while we were out of town, making sure she got lots of attention & walks. She sent pictures & videos showing Fiona was in great hands. We will use her services again & recommended her to anyone looking for a trusted pet sitter.”

“Marla was our first sitter from Rover. She spent the afternoon playing with our puppy and we could not have asked for a better sitter. I know she spent quality time at playing with our pup!! Hope to use her again in the future!”

About: I have taken care of cats, dogs, hamsters, gerbils, rabbits and even reptiles since I was a little kid growing up in Madison, Wisconsin--we had cats, dogs, rodents and reptiles, often all at once. As an adult, I've kept and cared for cats of all kinds, including ones needing medical care / injections. I truly am a cat person but love all animals. I'm currently a consultant-based worker, so my free time is kinda plentiful. I like playing with and caring for animals, and as a home owner myself, I am very capable of watching and caring for a home while someone is away. I use gentleness and love and the owner's instructions to care for animals in their homes. Currently I don't offer pet boarding, but am great at drop ins for feeding / treats and potty breaks / litter box clean 'n refresh.
About: I graduated in May of 2025 from the Madison Area Technical College Veterinary Technician Program, then passed the VTNE to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. In school we worked with dogs, cats, horses, cows, and lambs. I have had dogs since I was a child, and I currently have 2 dogs and 1 cat. I worked on a farm taking care of horses for about two and a half years from 2020-2022. I've taken care of pets for friends/family for many years as well! I currently work at a vet hospital, though I am out on FMLA. Unfortunately, that means I can only take on pets less than 30 lbs at the moment. If you're looking for someone to take extra care of your pets, please reach out to see if we're a good fit! I'm currently working full time as a certified veterinary technician at a veterinary hospital. I work 40 hours a week with a varying schedule. Generally I work 8 am - 6 pm four days a week (my day off during the week changes each week). I work on Saturday about once per month. My rover clients will be scheduled around that availability. I currently live in an apartment with a cat and will not be able to watch clients' pets in my home. If I am watching pets in the client's home, I will take care of them the way I would take care of mine. I am respectful and conscientious of your personal space and privacy.
About: Growing up I lived in the country with cows, horses and chickens next door. We always had many cats and dogs because we had the space and they just knew we would take them in if they didn't have a home. I wish I had the space now to have more animals but since I dont, it would be an honor to take care of yours. My experience with animals would be having a cat that needed shots daily for diabetes, a blind dog, dog that had seizures, taking care of friends and family's pets. Some which needed daily medicine or had a lot of energy : ). I ppreciate the trust they have in me to take care of their fur family members. Each pet, like humans, have their own personality. Brittany was so easy and helpful to work with. She was super friendly and my reserved cat was happy to see her. I loved and pictures and communication while I was away. It really gave me a piece of mind that my kitty was safe and happy. This was my first time using Rover and I am very glad I chose to go with Brittany. I will use her again int he future!

Karen was great with our old man cat. He's a bit shy but loves attention and so it was nice to see that he warmed up to her quickly. She was responsive, caring, and took care of all the cat's needs without ever missing a step. We'll definitely rebook if we're traveling out of town again in the future!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Machesney Park. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
