“Amanda is great! She took amazing care of our dog and cat while we were gone for a weekend. She always arrived on time and sent great photos and updates. She clearly loves all animals and showed both of ours the same love. I would highly recommend and will be booking her again:)”

“Jaymee was great. She listened to all the instructions we provided, and since it was our first time she helped assure my worries about leaving my girls to someone else's care. During the visits one of our dogs had a medical issue, that needed medication delivered at certain times. Jaymee helped us by working her schedule around to help care for our dog's medication schedule. Overall my girls loved her and had a great time. I will definitely be booking again with Jaymee the next time I need someone to watch my dogs.”

“Charley was great with our dogs. She sent video and photo updates each time we dropped-in. The dogs were happy and well taken care of. Thank you, Charley. We hope that next time we need a drop-in dog sitter, you would be willing to watch them again.”

“Emily is great. I can tell she really cares for animals and my dog (and fish) would agree. She’s punctual and shared plenty of picture updates while we were away. I definitely recommend Emily for your pet sitting needs! 😃”

“Drew was great with our two dogs, which included a young puppy. She was prompt, followed instructions well, and left us plenty of notes and photos. Our dogs had a great time during her visits while we were away for a day trip. We will definitely hire Drew again!”

“Joyce responded to our request for a sitter immediately, even with a day’s notice to start. She was extremely patient and caring with our old, particular dog and went out of her way to make sure our dog felt cared for and had fun while we were gone. We’d recommend her to anyone that needs a sitter!”

“Reggi was great with my cat, Noodle! We appreciated the ease of communication with Reggi through texts and the Rover app. She checked in every day, sent photos, and Noodle was as happy as a kitty can be when we finally arrived home after our long holiday away. She kept us updated on Noodle's appetite and other habits and did everything we asked of her. We'd love to have her back to take care of our kitty the next time we have to go out of town.”
“Petrea was very efficient and Sweeeet. I’d never been away longer than a day with my kitty. This was a week and she was played with and fed well and got better every day with her fear. Pictures were sent to me every day. Came home to a healthy baby. Thank you Petrea. I’ll use her again for sure!”

“This was my first time using Rover for my dog, I was a little nervous about my dog not being cared for by family. But Isabel was so kind and friendly. She sent me messages and pictures of my Oliver when I was away. I was so impressed by this service. I know my dog is a handful but he seemed very happy the whole weekend. I will absolutely recommend Isabel!! I hope she is available to help next time I am out of town. Thank you so much Isabel!!!”

“Great sitter! Really appreciated her coming by and meeting Luna before I had to leave town. She took good care of Luna even though Luna is a moody cat. She was receptive to any concerns I had.”

“Medea is a great pet sitter. She was accommodating and easy to communicate with. Medea even went the extra step in helping water my potted plants. I would definitely recommend her to a friend :)”

“This was our first experience leaving Mabel with someone that wasn’t a family member, and wow…we were instantly at ease with Theresa. It felt like we had known her forever and made us feel so comfortable. Can’t recommend enough and will definitely be reaching out to Theresa again. 🤩”

About: I’ve always had a love for animals and have cared for dogs of all ages. My two senior dogs, King and Ozzie, have taught me patience, gentle care, and that sometimes pets just need you to slow down and meet them where they are. 🐾❤️ I’m a cat lover too! We have three cats of our own—Church, Girl, and Iris. One of them came to us from outside, so I understand that every cat has their own personality, comfort level, and needs. I’m patient, gentle, and happy to let cats warm up to me at their own pace. 🐱❤️ Your pet’s safety and comfort come first. I follow their normal routine, keep a close eye on them, and make sure they’re secure during walks and visits. I’m also respectful of your home and will treat your pet and their space with the same care I give my own. 🐾❤️

Chloe was wonderful with our dog and cat! They really responded well to her 😊 Our dog was walked daily and our cat's litterbox was monitored and cleaned out. Our cat got quite attached to Chloe when she was here 😊 She provided us with pictures and little updates to let us know they were doing well. The floor of the house where the pets stayed looked fantastic and the kitchen was cleaned of all the pets paraphernalia. Chloe did an amazing job! We would definitely have her sit for our pets again 🥰

Brittany was so easy and helpful to work with. She was super friendly and my reserved cat was happy to see her. I loved and pictures and communication while I was away. It really gave me a piece of mind that my kitty was safe and happy. This was my first time using Rover and I am very glad I chose to go with Brittany. I will use her again int he future!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Loves Park. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
