“Joanne watched my 2 Russell terriers for a week at my house and did a great job following their usual day. She took them for walks and every day sent me pictures of them and how she was doing activities with them since they are old and set in their ways. I felt very comfortable having her with them since this was my first time with Rover. I would definitely recommend her for someone who will be away and know they are well cared for.”

“Celina was great with our two pugs! One of them is very people shy, and she had him snuggling with her in no time! She kept us informed as to how our fur babies were doing throughout the weekend. Will definitely use her again!”

“Adrienne was absolutely wonderful to work with! She sent us tons of really spectacular photos of our pets while we were away, and we were left with absolutely no worries whatsoever. We will absolutely be using Adrienne's services in the future!”

“Thank goodness I found Kally. We recently moved to Loudoun County and I was in search of a great overnight sitter for my elderly pug. Not only does Kally have a special fondness for pugs, since she had two of her own, but she is an experienced and professional dog sitter. She is organized, detail oriented, and thorough and clearly strives to be the best in the business. I chose her based on outstanding Rover reviews, but now I know why. She took care of EVERYTHING. She immediately formed a bond with my little pug, who clearly has some special needs as she is aging, and reassured me that she had experience with any potential issues. I received daily pictures and videos, and little messages that everything was going great. That made my vacation so much more relaxing, as I was initially worried about leaving her with just anyone. She was so happy in Kally’s care. Upon return, our house was immaculate. She went above and beyond. She is top-notch and I get why she is so sought after as a care giver. I am really fortunate to have found Kally, and I feel so comfortable now with such a professional and loving caregiver.”

“Karah is truly exceptional! She went above and beyond caring for our two dogs and our home while we were away, giving us complete peace of mind. Our pups were happy, loved, and so well cared for, and our home was spotless when we returned. Her communication was outstanding, with thoughtful updates that let us fully enjoy our vacation. It’s rare to find someone this trustworthy, caring, and dependable. We wouldn’t hesitate to book Karah again and recommend her without reservation!”

“Jessica was fantastic. This was the first time we had someone sit in our house for our dog Clyde. He gets anxious when he is not with our family. When we returned from our trip he was still his happy self. No stress or anxiety. Jessica took great care of Clyde and our home! We will definitely use Jessica again.”

“Jennifer is wonderful with our pets and also very considerate, leaving our house cleaner than when we left. It's nice to be able to relax on vacation without worrying about how things are going at home. With Jennifer we know everything's fine. Highly recommend her!”

About: Growing up, my family has owned many dogs and other pets, and I have always been heavily involved in their care. I had a dog walking business a few years ago, and I regularly watched the dogs of our friends and neighbors. My family also fostered a dog for a time, which I was heavily involved in. Over the last year, I have had the opportunity to walk and care for many different dogs through Rover. Throughout all of these experiences, I have had to care for many different types of dogs, both big and small, and old and young. As a result, I am comfortable with all types of breeds and know how to navigate challenges when it comes to pet care. Most importantly, I love dogs! I am available every day of the week from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM. I am very flexible and can always find time to accommodate other schedules. Please check my calendar for any days marked unavailable. When caring for dogs in the homes of others, I make sure that they are comfortable, well fed, and loved. When walking dogs, I always make sure to go at their pace, pick up after them, and keep them safe.
About: I’ve had em all! Dogs, Cats, Lizards, Turtles, Fish, Goats... My family has always kinda been drawn to animals, so we’ve pretty much always had (at least) a cat or a dog throughout my life. And people have noticed that I get on well with just about any dog or cat or whatever else, because my friends and neighbors have, more often than not, called on me for their pet-sitting needs. I’ve pretty much been doing this since I was 10 years old, so I generally know what I’m doing. I have a flexible schedule, and am okay with traveling a fair distance. My only limitation is that I cannot board dogs at my own house. However, as I said, I am flexible and can travel as needed. I am doing this as my job, and while school is out, I am mostly free, so I can devote time to your pet’s care. I care about animals, and I understand that they can be traumatized by being separated from their family. I try to be a calm and reassuring force in their world. Their needs are paramount, and I am willing to adjust my schedule to accommodate them. I am trustworthy and will respect your household as a guest. Any special requests you have, I will do my best to accommodate.
About: I have been caring for dogs since I was 13! I have had multiple dogs (all rescue) in my home that I have fed, bathed, walked, and administered medication. I have been working in dog shelters since 2021, so I am comfortable with all dogs from all backgrounds! I have a pitbull terrier mix, a semi-feral outdoor cat, fish, and two crested geckos! Pet care is something I do every single day, including: feeding, bathing, walking, medication administration, and habitat cleaning! I always meet an animal where they are. I don't want to impose on their personal space or do something to make them scared. I don't expect every animal to be super warm and cuddly, everyone has different needs! I can cater as fancy or as downplayed a routine as you need to make your fur-babies (or non-furry) feel safe!
About: I started taking care of neighbors' and friends' dogs, cats, fish, hamsters and birds when I was 14 years old. I love animals and wildlife of all kinds. I have been a cat and dog mom for 28 years and have had 2 leash and dog-reactive dogs (strong, 60 pound+ mutt and pit bull) so I am experienced in dealing with these situations. I have strong situational awareness with my head on a swivel when walking dogs. My senior kitty required specialized medical care at the end of her life with daily prescription medication and subcutaneous fluids. I have volunteered as a dog walker and cat snuggler at Friends of Homeless Animals rescue. I have been a social worker for 30 years and am nearing retirement from full-time employment. I would love to use my love of animals to continue working as a pet-sitter and dog walker. I am very organized, detail-oriented and will care for your pet as I care for my own. I would love to meet you and your pets to see how I can be of service. I currently work full-time Monday through Friday but am retiring at the end of September. My weekends are currently free. I have some flexibility in my weekday schedule so I may be available on a case-by-case basis for weekday dog walks that are in western Loudoun County and within a 10 minute drive of my home. I will care for your pet in your home so that they will be the most comfortable. I am available for overnight stays to keep your pet company and to provide close supervision, lots of TLC, food, water, potty breaks and anything else you may need. I am a non-smoker and non-drinker. I am very detail-oriented, responsible and dependable. As a bit of an overprotective dog mom, I have needed to entrust my dog's care to a pet sitter. My dog is my world. So I know just how valuable trust, dependability and attention to detail are. What matters to you matters to me. I will follow your instructions down to the smallest detail. I will be diligent in communicating with you, sending regular updates and photos of your pet so that you know they are safe and happy in my care.
“Addie was a wonderful choice for watching our dog, Yogi, while we were away. She was very kind, easy-going, and flexible. I can tell Yogi had a great time with Addie and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a responsible and reliable pet sitter.”

About: I’ve been pet sitting for 4 years and currently share my home with 4 dogs and 2 cats, so caring for animals is just part of my everyday life. I’ve watched pets for friends, family, and neighbors, and I’ve consistently gotten great feedback for being reliable, attentive, and treating every pet like my own. I understand that every animal has different needs, routines, and personalities, and I take the time to learn what makes your pet comfortable, whether that’s a specific feeding schedule, playtime preferences, or more. Your pets will be safe, loved, and well cared for with me! I’m home for the summer before starting full time work in the fall, so my schedule is wide open right now. I can do daily walks, drop ins, or daycare any day of the week, mornings or afternoons, without restriction! I’m also flexible for last minute requests since I don’t have a fixed work schedule to plan around. Once fall hits my availability will shift, but for now I have plenty of time to give your pet attention and exercise. I’m comfortable following whatever routine or rules you have set up, whether that’s feeding times, medication, leash rules, or specific areas your pet is or isn’t allowed in. I always make sure doors and gates are secure before and after walks/check-ins, and I’ll send updates or photos so you know your pet is in good hands while you’re away.

“Shane was awesome! He watched over our dogs over a holiday week, even booking last minute. He was thorough and very respectful to our home. We would love to use him again and again!”

“Ximena was wonderful to work with. She kept me updated with lots of pictures and kept me informed about how my cats were doing.. It was great not to have to worry about them when I was away. We are new to the area and will be using her when we travel.”

About: I have had several pets through my life and all have had different personalities. Adapting to them to make them comfortable is important. I also have helped family take care of their new puppies. I’m very comfortable and understanding when dealing with puppies. Currently I can do any time! I don’t mind having an early morning or late night drop in. I am very flexible and want to make this easy for YOU! Just communicate what you need and it’ll be great. I want the animal to be as comfy as possible. Sometimes their human leaving can be stressful! I want to meet them where it’s needed. Not have their routines thrown off.
“Ken took such good care of our boy Hamlet. He’s just such a natural around dogs and is funny to boot. Very jovial and attentive with a great sense of humor. He gave us updates for each time he checked in Hamlet on each day with a report on meal time, potty breaks, and play time. Also sent cute pictures! Ken clearly loves dogs and shows that in his care for them. I wouldn’t hesitate to book him again.”

FAQs for House Sitting - Lucketts
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 4,225 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Lucketts. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lucketts walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lucketts maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lucketts choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lucketts. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
