“Sam took great care of my 2 senior dogs. She came exactly as we arranged and was very communicative. Would ask Sam to take care of my dogs again without hesitation. Thanks Sam!”

“Katie was avsolutely wonderful!!!! This was the first time leaving our dog with a non-family member. Katie was kind, thoughtful and loving to our Rosie. We received pictures and a summary after each visit which gave us comfort and peace knowing she was being well cared for - and upon arriving home our dog was happy and healthy!!! Thank you so much Katie!!!”

“Chloe is a rare find. She is incredibly thorough and buttoned up- beyond organized with a binder of notes and questions upon meeting you and your pet. She’s exceptionally responsive to check in requests and always goes above and beyond. I came home last night to my mail brought in and she even brought our recycle bin up from the curb. I highly recommend her! So does Oliver ;)”

About: I've had dogs all my life, the most recently i had a awesome miniature poodle who I was fortunate to love and care for 17 years, so I am familiar with the needs of senior dogs. My schedule is fairly open every day after about 9 or ten am. I'd like a regular opportunity, but one offs will be good as well I am available for pet sitting at the clients home, but due to younger kids I can accommodate pets at my home. Walking and feeding and playing is ideal
“Leigh is our go-to sitter. She takes wonderful care of our fur babies every time, leaves lots of pictures and helpful notes each day, and follows medication instructions for our cat with a thyroid condition to the letter. Leaving our pets in her care gives us complete peace of mind. We are grateful to have found her!”
“This is the second time we are using Sara’s service, so this review is for our previous experience as well as this experience with Sara as our cat sitter: Sara is not just a cat sitter, she’s a care taker in general. She would keep the place clean, spend time with our cat Titan, send us prompt updates with pics and vids of Titan. She communicates very well and is a very kind person. We left a list of things to do for Titan’s care - she went above and beyond. We trust her so much and she is the ideal person you’d leave your precious animals with. You can always count on Sara!”

“Bridget...terrific. She did a series of drop ins for my anxious/reactive dog, Gio...he does not warm up easily to new people. Bridget took great care of him, taking into account his somewhat guarded manner, and let him get used to her, to the point where he was happily accepting pets from her. Bridget was timely, good with communication and photos during the visits, and accommodating. I would heartily recommend her for taking care of your pets.”

About: I make an effort to be calm when I am with and around animals in order for them to know they are safe when they’re with me. I am home from college for the summer! I have a lot of free time. Mornings, afternoons, and nights I have available and every day of the week. I’d love to walk your pet around your neighborhood. Cleanliness and organization are important to me, so I would make sure to maintain those areas of your space for your pet!
“V was fantastic. She came over to meet our two dogs before our scheduled visit and both dogs immediately loved her. It’s clear she’s a dog lover! We will absolutely be reaching out again in the future”
“Alissa was fantastic. We encountered a very difficult situation where our flights were canceled and we needed assistance with our little one who requires medicine. Alissa came through and took wonderful care of him. He was fed, loved and looked like he had a great time with her. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve spent the last 6 years caring for dogs and cats for families in my neighborhood, including puppies, high‑energy dogs, and seniors who need a gentler pace. I regularly do dog walking, drop‑in visits, and house sitting, and I follow each pet’s routine closely—feeding, medications, walks, and playtime. I treat every animal like my own, send lots of photo updates, and make sure they feel safe, loved, and relaxed while their people are away. When I’m home in New Jersey, I’m generally free on both weekdays and weekends, and I’m happy to work around your travel plans. I keep my calendar up to date and respond quickly so we can find times that fit your schedule. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I stick closely to the routines you already have in place—feeding schedule, walk times, and house rules. I always double‑check doors, gates, and leashes, and I watch for any changes in behavior or appetite that might signal a problem. I’m respectful of your home, keep things tidy, and send clear updates and photos so you always know how your pets are doing.

“Paola was fantastic when we were away. She took care of the cats really well coming in twice. day. changed the litter, and turned on/off the lights and got the mail in. The house was in great shape when we got back and most importantly our cats were relaxed and peaceful. She communicated with us on the app daily and sent pictures also very responsive to any messages that I had sent. I would definitely ask her again.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Long Hill
Svetlana was great! She sent photos every time she went to visit Molly. The real compliment is that Molly let Svetlana pet her and hold her, which my cat doesn't usually do. When I looked up Svetlana originally and spoke with her, I was impressed with her experience and her many strong reviews. Clearly it was a smart choice - both Molly and I are happy and appreciate Svetlana's caring.

Sheila took wonderful care of our cats for a little over two weeks, and we couldn’t be more grateful. She is incredibly meticulous, genuinely loves animals, and went above and beyond what was required to make sure our cats were happy, comfortable, and well cared for. She also kept an eye on our home and alerted us to a water leak in time, which we truly appreciated. We felt completely at ease knowing both our cats and our home were in such capable and caring hands. Highly recommended.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Long Hill. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
