“Melissa has always done a wonderful job with my pups! One of my dogs had surgery last month and needed extra care during recovery. She is a great communicator and asks questions when things need clarification. I can tell she really does care for the pups as she would her own. Thanks so much again Melissa!”

“This was my first time having her pet sit for me and I will definitely call ask Chloe to do it the next time we need pet care. She asked good clarifying questions at the ‘meet and greet, took time to get to know my 2 cats, and asked great questions to help ensure everything went smoothly. My pets were in great hands and were well taken care of. I recommend Chloe!”

About: I’ve always loved animals and have years of hands on experience caring for dogs of different sizes and personalities. I recently cared for my own pup throughout her 13 wonderful years of life, which taught me how important patience, love, and trust are when it comes to pet care. I also help care for my brother’s dogs a Golden Retriever/Lab mix and two Dachshunds so I’m comfortable with both large and small breeds. Being from Monterey County, I love staying active and going on walks and hikes, so your pup will get plenty of attention, exercise, and care with me! I work full time as a supervisor at Starbucks, so my schedule varies and stays pretty flexible throughout the week. I’m available at different times on different days, which allows me to fit pet care naturally into my routine. Whether it’s walks, drop-ins, or spending quality time with your pets, I’m happy to work around their needs! I care for pets in their home by keeping their routine consistent and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I provide feedings, fresh water, walks, potty breaks, playtime, and lots of attention based on each pet’s needs and personality. I’m also very respectful of my client’s home and always aim to create a stress free experience for both pets and owners.

Whether it's playtime, walks, or special needs, I treat every pet like my own—with patience, compassion, and a lot of tail wags! I currently work part-time at a non-profit animal rescue and also help my husband run our home-based computer repair and IT consulting business. This flexible schedule gives me plenty of time to give your furry companion the attention, exercise, and snuggles they deserve. About: I have taken care of all sorts of animals, from cats to dogs to hamsters. I am currently a student in College in Sacramento studying Animal Science! I have had over 10 years of taking care of animals, but 4 professionally in a kennel and in shelters! I love working with all sizes, ages, and varieties!! I am currently working part time at my local Baskin Robbins, but have time for your pup and kitties! I will fit it into my schedule as best as I can, and without a doubt make it my number one priority. Within a clients home the dog/ cat will definitely be more comfortable. And I will respect any wishes or needs your fur baby might have, when working in a clients home I know that the animal needs time to take in a new scent and person, and I am extremely patient with them to make them feel as comfortable as possible!
About: I’ve cared for my own animals for 23 years and want to spread what knowledge I have and help others. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
