“Stephanie stayed with our dogs for 10 days and took great care of them. She was also more than willing to help with small household things. The dogs seemed super happy and comfortable with her. I have a diabetic chi. and she learned how to give him his shots as well. I would definitely recommend her!”
“Kristle was amazing!!! We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter to watch our Coco Bella! Kristle was loving and caring! She was so good to Coco! She took her out on walks, played with her, and made sure she was well taken care of. She sent us pictures everyday and was quick to respond! I am so happy we met Kristle and we will be in contact with her for future needs! I highly recommend her services! Thank you Kristle and family! Coco loved you guys!”
About: I have my own dog. I've grown up with dogs. I worked at a pet store when I was a teenager, and have house/pet sat before. Although, I'm not a vet, I'm observant and will keep an eye out for issues that concern you. Pet health is important. That includes nutrition and grooming. I know some think there is such a thing as over involved pet parents, I think they're family and should be treated as such. I volunteer at my church every Thursday, Backpack Program fifth Wednesdays (when they occur) and Orphan Grain Train every other month on the third Thursday. Otherwise, I take care of my dad who has COPD. I have to be home to cook for him. And take care of my own dog. Eventually, I will allow dogs to stay with me overnight, but I want to make sure my dog and said dogs get along. So that is my availability. I have a pitbull mix. She is very good around other dogs. Especially after she gets to know them. She's not aggressive, just tends to hump when excited. All dogs will need a leash if they are coming with me. I have walking trails in my community. I have no problem walking your dogs in them. Please make sure they have up to date tick meds. Also I live with my dad he will be petting and loving any pet that spends the night. My house is two story, so if you have a senior dog that needs help just let me know.
“Lori has been so easy to work with. She's been great with communication. Texted me every day and sent pictures of our dog. Cleaned up our dog's accidents. She stayed at our house and we returned to it so neat. She was punctual with coming for her meet-and-greet. Great experience. We would choose her again.”

“Sam was great! She provided daily photos, cleaned up for us upon our return and was well communicative. We felt better leaving for a long weekend away with her watching our babies. Thank you, Sam!!”
“Another AMAZING stay! Patrick is so on top of everything and so so good caring for my cats, this was a work trip so i was able to focus on work and know my cats were well taken care of which truly was the best feeling of all time!”

“Izzy was awesome. So sweet with our dogs. They both loved her and took her in as one of their pack. We have a newly adopted pit bull that we are still learning and she was great with her. Firm and loving. She was super flexible and super sweet to our girls.”

About: I have had many dogs since I was a kid. As an adult, I have had 5 dogs over the years. They have always been adopted from a shelter or rescue group, plus one dog from an elderly friend. I have adopted 2 puppies and the others were several years old when they were adopted. I love their companionship. I walk our current dog as many days/week as possible. She is my travel buddy! I have crate-trained the puppies and provided as much love and care as possible for our senior dogs, including providing medication. My animals are my children and are very spoiled! I'm currently unemployed so available pretty much any time to care for animals. Once I find a full-time job, my schedule may change a bit but if my job is remote then I would have a lot of flexibility to care for the animals. I have a fairly large fenced yard for running and playing. Trees for observing the squirrels! There are 2 outside cats that do not really mind other dogs. My dog has done very well with other dogs as long as they are not aggressive or too big. I also live in a nice neighborhood where dogs can be walked, including a nice, wooded area with a great trail for walking. I also live close to Eagle Creek park where dogs could be walked.
About: I’ve been caring for pets for over 5 years and have experience with both dogs and cats of all ages and personalities. I also worked for a woman who owned her own Yorkie breeding business for a year, where I helped care for puppies and adult dogs daily. Along with that experience, I’ve helped neighbors, friends, and family with feeding, walking, playtime, overnight care, and giving pets plenty of attention and affection. I’ve also worked with cats for 2 years, and they’re one of my favorite animals to care for. I’m dependable, patient, and treat every pet like they’re my own. My schedule is flexible, and I do my best to accommodate each pet parent’s needs. I’m available for drop-in visits, walks, overnight care, and extended stays depending on availability. I’m reliable, communicative, and committed to keeping pets on their normal routine as much as possible. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I pay close attention to routines, behavior, and any special instructions to make sure every pet feels secure and cared for. I create a calm, positive environment and make sure pets get plenty of supervision, affection, exercise, and attention while in my care. I also provide regular updates and photos so pet parents can feel confident and worry-free.
“Katie was a hit!!!! With Griffin and with us. Please come back soon!!! Thank you for being an eager player of dog games AND for leaving the house so clean. Five-plus stars for Katie.”

About: I have lived on a farm since I was little. I have taken care of many animals and many different breeds. Dogs always will have a special place in my heart I am a simple person. I work a job part time where I can schedule myself. I am also in school that I do remotely. I love getting outside but I don’t care to go to far from home. I like to stick to a routine. Animals need time to play and to rest and they need people to do that with them!! My house is a simple layout with a basement, and is very pet friendly
“As always. Zach was the best dog and house sitter! Goes above and beyond, sends lots of photos and videos, and makes sure our dog is getting lots of love and care while we’re away.”

“Jordan was a very polite young woman who exceeded our expectations for our puppy, Molly. She is now a year old, not 10 months (from when I booked her), and we were really worried, so we had Jordan come by a couple of times, and it worked out the best! (She kept the house picked up, which was not required!) We had a really great experience with Jordan and highly recommend her to anyone. If she could hold Molly down for a week, she could do anything! Can't wait to have her back in the Fall!”

About: I am very skilled with animals ! I’ve grown up with showing and raising different kinds of animals my whole life ! It would be a pleasure to help care for yours ! I’m currently a server at a restaurant , I work a couple night shifts weekly ! During the day I am open and free ! I currently live in a nice neighborhood with our own fenced in yard ! I also have a dog which is a golden retriever and she loves other dogs !
“This was our second time using Amanda. We had kennel reservations for one of our dogs but those fell through because of improper vaccination records. Amanda came to the rescue and agreed to watch both of our dogs with some stringent guidelines. She followed them to a tee. Everything went well. She gave us multiple updates with photos. We felt completely at ease the whole time we were gone. Amanda is a wonderful dog sitter and we couldn't ask for anyone better.”
About: I’ve had cats my whole life and started pet sitting other people’s pets in high school. I’ve looked after all types of pets such as hermit crabs, rats, rabbits, cats, and dogs. Since then I’ve adopted two kitties of my own and I can’t wait to look after yours! I am happy to stop by for drop in visits before or after my shifts at work or on my days off, send me a message for more specific scheduling. I am very comfortable navigating your home to your needs. FAQs for House Sitting - Lizton
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,421 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Lizton. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lizton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lizton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lizton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lizton. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
