“Jinghong is a very caring sitter. My dog Bacon fell in love with her starting from meet and greet. Bacon was well taken care of, and I really appreciated the updates and photos. It was obvious he was happy and comfortable during his stay. Thank you for treating him with such care—I would absolutely book with you again and highly recommend you to others!”

“My fiancé and I have never taken our dog to a dog sitter before. It was our first time leaving our Sasha girl with someone other than a family member, and we were so nervous to use this app, but Rocío has definitely changed our minds. Rocío was so sweet, gentle and patient with Sasha upon meeting her for the first time. She kept us updated throughout the day with pictures of Sasha playing in the yard, which put our minds at ease. The constant communication and updates gave us the reassurance that Sasha was in good hands. When I picked her up, I can tell that Sasha wasn’t anxious to see me or leave, like she normally is when we leave her alone for a few hours. Rocío said Sasha did really well for her it being her first time with a dog sitter and it filled my heart. Rocío and her family are so nice and welcoming. You can tell they have a genuine love for animals. We will definitely be using this service again! Thank you so much for everything!”

“Sherrie was great! Super nice and accommodating, she was able to watch our pup Zoe on Christmas on short notice. Zoe had a wonderful day with Sherrie and her doodles, and even came home with some homemade Christmas treats! 🎄😊”

“I always have peace of mind leaving our pup with Chris. Biscotti comes back with a smile every time, and while she’s notorious for not eating well at other sitters, in his care she is so comfortable that she even ate all her food! Can’t ask for a better petsitter. Thanks again!”

“Wan is an amazing, sweet, caring person .She is highly professional, extremely responsible and truly cares about the animals. You could not ask for a better person to care for your animals.”

About: I work from home and have been around dogs my entire life. Our dogs are like children to us. Now, as we work from home and have a big yard, we have the ideal setup for happy, safe dogs—and want to share it with your fur baby! - We’ve raised our 3-year-old mini poodle to be a happy, gentle and well-rounded pup. She loves to play and cuddle, and gets along very well with other dogs and the occasional cat! - Our home is very loving and safe. Someone is always around to give cuddles and love, plenty of cozy places to hang out, and hazards are always out of reach. - We have a fully fenced, big backyard with tennis balls and frisbees where your beloved fur baby can get out all their zoomies frequently and safely. It's also covered in shade, so don't worry about hot summer days! - We don't anticipate anything happening, but just in case, rest assured because our home is only *one block* away from an excellent animal hospital! - We’ll do our best to make sure that your little buddy will feel loved and at home here, getting the same level of care and cuddles you like to provide to them. - We’ve had senior dogs and a dog with diabetes, so we are very careful and will always give attention to detail to adapt to their needs, whether it be diet, exercise, attention, or anything else. - We will keep you updated with photos and videos so you know they’re safe and having a good time. - ¡Se habla español! Si tu perrito se siente más cómodo que le hable en español, solo díganos cuáles comandos utilizan. It’s hard to find someone to trust with your pet; we have found this out the hard way. So I hope our home can become a place you can rely on and feel safe leaving your little bundle. Note: Because we want everyone to have a good, safe time, it’s our policy to always do a meet-and-greet for all new clients to make sure our dog and yours get along well! Because we work from home, we are available at home to take care of your little buddy full time for boarding and daycare at our home. A fully-enclosed, shaded backyard for zoomies and lots of walks around our safe, dog-friendly, and tree-lined neighborhood. Your fur baby will be under our supervision throughout the day and will get frequent trips to the yard and lots of time to play. We're also happy to walk your dog as often as you need. We’re always happy to be flexible with your schedule to accommodate both your and your dog’s needs.
“Kiky was an excellent sitter. She communicated very well and provided frequent updates including very cute pictures of our dog Honey. She was also extremely accommodating and flexible with our schedule which worked out great. We truly appreciate the thoughtful attention she gave to Honey, and we would absolutely love to have her watch Honey again. I highly recommend Kiky!”

About: Together, my partner and I have nearly a decade of experience caring for dogs, including our own three pups. Our oldest dog is 9 years old, and our youngest is 2, giving us firsthand experience with dogs at different ages and stages of life. From energetic young dogs to more mature companions, we understand the unique needs, routines, and personalities that come with each stage and are committed to providing loving, attentive care for every dog we welcome into our home. I have a flexible schedule during the summer months and plenty of time to provide attentive care for your furry family member. My partner works full-time and occasionally from home, so your dog will have companionship and supervision throughout much of the day. Together, we create a loving, comfortable environment where your pup will feel right at home. Your pet's safety, comfort, and well-being are our top priorities. In our home, dogs are treated like family and are never left unsupervised for extended periods. We maintain a clean, pet-friendly environment and take time to learn each dog's routine, preferences, and any special care needs before their stay. We have a fully fenced yard where dogs can safely play, explore, and enjoy supervised outdoor time. Inside, we closely monitor interactions between dogs to ensure everyone feels comfortable and secure, while providing plenty of opportunities for exercise, relaxation, and affection throughout the day. We carefully follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, and any guidelines provided by owners. We understand that trusting someone with your pet is a big decision, so we provide regular updates and photos to keep you connected and give you peace of mind while you're away. Our goal is to create a safe, loving environment where your dog feels right at home and becomes part of the pack 🐶

About: Hi there! I’ve been lucky enough to have dogs in my life for over 20 years, so I really know what it takes to keep them happy and healthy. Growing up with dogs taught me all the little things that make a big difference in their care—whether it’s their exercise needs or just knowing when they need a good belly rub! Right now, I’ve got a super friendly 40lb Mini Bernedoodle who’s all about having fun, so I totally get how important it is to make walks enjoyable and stress-free for your dog. I’m here to make sure your pup has a great time, gets plenty of love, and stays safe on every walk. If you’re looking for a relaxed, dog-loving walker who knows how to keep tails wagging, I’d love to help out! I work from home, part time, so I'm home most of the day and have a flexible schedule that allows me to give your dog plenty of attention. I'm ready to give them all the love and attention they need. Your dog will be in good hands, whether it's a walk, a game, or just a cozy cuddle session! When your pooch is at my place, they’ll be treated just like my dog, Luna! They’ll have full access to the furniture, get all the cuddles, and enjoy the same care and attention Luna gets. I believe pets should feel at home, so I make sure they’re comfortable and loved during their stay. If I’m taking care of your dog at your place, I’ll follow your routine and make sure they’re happy and well-looked after. I’ll give them plenty of playtime, walks, and lots of love—just like I do for Luna!
“I had to find a last minute sitter and Linda was perfect for the job! She really took the time to understand my pups needs and was flexible with our drop off/pickup times. My pup can be a picky eater but she got him to eat his dinner with ease! Bumi had an amazing time with her and I felt super relieved with all the updates she sent me. Bonus - her apartment was super easy to commute to. I’ll definitely book her again when I’m in Manhattan :)”

“Miran & Jennie treated my dog so well! I received photos as well which was helpful because I was nervous to use Rover for the first time. Their dog Bambi is also so sweet. Thank you Miran & Jennie!”
“Keunyung was really great to my pup. She was really accommodating to my last minute needs and I appreciated the photo updates. Her space looked very welcoming and cozy. I felt really comfortable leaving Remi with her from the other reviews and after the experience, I would totally leave him with her again!”

“Zero complaints. I was greeted with kindness, she kept me updated on my puppy, and she solved any problems that came up. I really liked Catherine’s communication and work ethic. 10/10”

Thank you to Amarys and her family for taking such great care of my babies! She kept me updated throughout the day, was very responsive, and sent me lots of pictures, which gave me great peace of mind. She followed all of my instructions and spent plenty of time playing with my dogs. I’m so happy I found the right person. I’ve already booked another daycare with her and can’t wait to see her again!

Xunzi was very flexible and accommodating, even accepting our last-minute booking and adjusting to our schedule without any issues. Bacon was a little nervous on his first day, but she was so patient and understanding. She paid close attention to his emotions and made sure he felt comfortable and settled in. It gave us great peace of mind knowing he was in such caring hands. She is someone we can truly trust with Bacon, and we wouldn't hesitate to book with her again. Highly recommend!

They accepted my last minute booking. Very communicative and just really friendly people. They were accommodating with my senior dog needs. You could tell they have alot of experience caring with pets. Such and pawsome sitter. Thank you and I hope you’ll accept our future requests.

Pierre and Minji were wonderful with Coco. This has been the first time she was calm at another place other than home. I could tell they treated as their own dog. Communication was great at all times and they are just lovely people. I’m so happy to have found this amazing pair to trust Coco with anytime.

As always Catherine is reliable. Cub is used to her and her sweet Cashew. Her place is dog-friendly and so is the area by her apartment. She takes Cub for walks and sends us photos. She just knows what to do and we trust her. Thank you so much, Catherine for caring for Cub.

I cannot thank Karla enough for providing an amazing care to our dog, Miley. I had to book her as last min booking while we were traveling and we couldn’t leave our dog for long hours at the hotel. Karla sent us numerous photos throughout the day when she was taking care of Miley from 9am-5pm. She was informative on how our dog was settling in, how she was spending time, or taking treats etc. She made our travel stress free because we knew Miley was getting a gray care. I would highly recommend her to any dog owners 🙌🏻👏🏻❤️

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Little Ferry commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
