“Jessica took such good care of my pups- Lula and Jagger- over a very cold weekend with icy weather! She kept me informed and sent lots of pictures . I was not worried at all.”

“Ashley is always so courteous and patient with me and my time. She took great care of Tokyo and she’s very responsive to what I need. I came home and my dog looked like he was well taken care of while I was away. Thank you Ashley. I will be booking more experiences with her. 🥰”

“My little guy does not warm up quickly but Morgan was great with him! She sent lots of pictures and videos for the week I was gone and I felt like he was well taken care of. 10/10 would recommend Morgan!”

About: I’ve had cats and dogs growing up my whole life and into adulthood! From walking, quick check in visits or even pet/house sitting, I’ve done it all! I have all the time to check in on your sweet pets! I am currently unemployed so will be available and open to assist in any way you may need while you are not able! I currently do not have a permanent residence so would be able to care for your pet in their own home environment and comfortable space!
About: I am a 20-year-old dog sitter with 3 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of various breeds, sizes, and personalities. As a proud owner of two dogs, I understand the importance of providing pets with love, attention, exercise, and a safe environment while their owners are away. I am currently studying to become a veterinarian, which has strengthened my knowledge of animal behavior, health, and well-being. I am passionate about providing dependable, compassionate care and treating every pet as if they were my own, ensuring they feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for at all times. I'm a full time pet sitter full time student I work around my schedule and time during weekly sittings so everyone is happy and a get my work done As a dog owner myself, with two dogs of my own, I understand the importance of patience, consistency, and loving care. I also keep pet areas clean, follow any special instructions provided by owners, and provide updates with photos and messages so owners can have peace of mind while they are away. As a veterinary student, I pay close attention to pets’ overall well-being and can recognize when something seems unusual, allowing me to communicate any concerns promptly. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, loved, and cared for just as they would be with their own family.
About: I’ve been caring for dogs since I was a kid. I have experience with dogs from puppies to seniors . While your fur baby is in my care I’ll make sure to communicate and send pictures so that you can always know how your baby is doing. Right now I’m working part time so I’ll have more time on my schedule to do more walks. I set my own schedule so if your dog needs to be walked more than once I can accommodate that need. I’m always making sure that their collars, leash , and harnesses are secure before stepping out . I make sure to always have water on hand for those times they may become thirsty. I send photos while out as well while in my care. I also make sure to have all contact information and preferred vets on hand in case of an emergency .
“It can be tough finding someone comfortable and competent to take care of my two dogs, especially since they can be a handful and take a while to warm up to new people. Johari was absolutely perfect for the job, and I’m so grateful we found her. Her consistent and quick communication throughout the entire process was super appreciated. Confident she would be able to take on the job, she offered to meet with us beforehand to make sure the dogs and her would be comfortable with each other. She demonstrated not only that she was certainly qualified to watch our fur babies for a few days, but also that she is just a super friendly, sweet person we could feel completely relieved to have there with them in our home, like she’s just one of our friends. She communicated with us the entire time we were gone, sending photos and updates. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her, and would consider ourselves lucky if she was available the next time we needed a dog sitter so we could use her services again! Thanks so much Johari!”

“Mia was very attentive to our girls and took care of the house while we were away. Very communicative with updates multiple times per day together with pics and good questions about the dogs or the house (the power went out for an hour and the dogs caught a critter in the back yard). Mia was up front about her schedule and kept us up to date about her needs. Overall - the dogs loved her and we will work with Mia again if schedules work.”

“Kira was EXCEPTIONAL and EXCEEDED my expectations in every way. She obviously loves animals and my four dogs absolutely loved her. They all vied for her attention and her positive energy satisfied their demands. She is more than just a dog "sitter." She engages and "plays" with the dogs and they love it. I was very detailed in my requests regarding their care and she was eager to know what I wanted and met their needs beautifully. I had to be gone for four days to visit a very sick friend going through a bone marrow transplant and it was such a blessing to know my dogs were in such trusting, professional, and capable hands. Kira also took great care of my parrot, Buddy. Kira keeps a smile on her face and is very kind and sweet. She communicated with me while I was away and sent pictures of my dogs enjoying themselves. I returned to a home that was as clean as I left it, with a freshly made bed. I will use Kira and only Kira, if she is available. I selfishly and with hesitation HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND Kira for anyone looking for a dogsitter, because I want to keep her schedule open for when I need her. :) She is definitely a 10/10.”

About: I’ve taken care of an array of dogs since I was a child. Calm, engaged, and fun dog mom. Teacher full time needing a summer gig. I currently work full time as a middle school teacher. I want something to fill my time over the summer. What better way to do it than with animals? My current dog care happens in the morning and afternoon/evening. I currently have open availability aside from a few pre-planned activities. I have a large unfenced yard. I have an older spayed female chipoo that is friendly with other dogs. She is on a set routine which includes going outside multiple times a day, meals twice a day, play time, plus more. I regularly clean the bottom, paws, face, etc. to ensure things are always fresh and clean.
“Danielle was awesome with my furry family!!! She cared and loved them, maintained their routine, and kept the house very tidy! I also received pictures and updates - communication was great! We can't wait for her to come sit again and highly recommend!”

About: Hey! I’m Savannah, I just graduated from esthetician school and now working as an Esthetician in Buckhead! From birth I’ve always been surrounded by dogs from Dobermans to Pomeranians. I’ve always had a huge heart for animals, especially dogs, and I’d love to help care for yours while you’re away. I have recently gotten three kittens and have fallen in love with cats now. As someone trained in both skincare and healthcare, (from lifeguarding growing up) I know how important it is to be detail oriented, compassionate, and trustworthy. Whether it’s sticking to a feeding schedule, giving your pup extra snuggles, or going on energy burning walks, I’m committed to giving your fur baby the love and attention they deserve. Let me know your animals needs, routines, quirks, and I’ll take care of them like they’re my own. Can’t wait to meet your furry friend! Let’s set up a meet and greet! I’d love to get to know you and your fur baby! I’m currently working part-time as a licensed esthetician but have plenty of time to work around any days you would need! I would be available mostly during the week and holidays! When pets stay with me, they become part of the family! I create a calm, cozy, and pet safe environment where they can feel comfortable, loved, and secure. Whether your pet is playful, shy, or somewhere in between, I adjust to their pace and needs.
“Our dogs loved J, and we’ll happily use him again to watch the pups. He sent pics and updates throughout which was much appreciated, and we could tell the dogs were happy and well taken care of. He was even willing to do a meet-and-greet beforehand to make sure one of the pups was comfortable with him. Highly recommend J!”

Very happy with how Latoya cared for my babies. I have two dogs and a cat and they we're all loved and cared for while we we're away. Trusting your babies and your home to someone when you're away can always be tough. It is nice to know that I could trust Latoya. Will definitely look for her help again!

Khaleigh was great! We always feel nervous leaving our pets and she helped us feel relaxed and comfortable with them in her care. She was able to follow our instructions for 6 pets (3 cats and 3 dogs) including medication administration, senior dog care, and mobility assistance. She communicated with us and we felt they were very safe and cared for.

FAQs for House Sitting - Lithonia
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Lithonia on Rover is $19.98 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 4,245 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Lithonia. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lithonia walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lithonia maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lithonia choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lithonia. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
