“Laura was awesome! Chacco had a blast during his weekend sleepover and loved hanging out with the other pups. She took great care of him, and I felt totally at ease knowing he was in good hands. He came home happy and tired—always a good sign! Definitely booking with her again.”

“When I picked up Jackson, I was not sure he wanted to leave his vacation with Kathryn and her wonderful family! Sure he was excited to see us, but, then he laid down next to Kathryn as if he was feeling pretty comfortable at her home! She sent photos and write ups daily and this made me feel so much better about leaving him in her care. It was like he knew the family forever! This was the first time we went away without him in 8 years so I was a bit anxious about leaving. I would have no problems leaving him again if I have another opportunity to do so. I highly recommend Kathryn and I know he was very happy being there and well cared for. He enjoyed his daily walks and never missed a meal and perhaps, Me!!!! If there were 10 stars I would click everyone of them!”

“Elizabeth was an amazing sitter for my Pyrenees/Golden mix! I could tell he genuinely appreciated her company and will remember her forever now! She was very patient with him, as he struggles with stairs. Her communication was also excellent throughout. I was 1000 miles away but receiving pictures and daily updates really help assure me that Joni was having a nice time. Thanks again!!”

“I forgot to take the time to review Erin for our last two stays. It is worth taking the time to review her because she is worth her weight in gold!!! We are so glad we found Erin because she provides a safe and comfortable place for our dog to stay. We never worry about a thing when we drop him off. We appreciate her updates and pictures that make us feel like we are right there. Way to go Erin! Glad we found you and your family!!!!”

“Michelle was fantastic with our pup! He had so much fun playing with her sweet dog and friends, and she sent us pictures throughout his stay so we could see how happy he was! She was great at arranging pickup and drop off, to make sure it worked with our schedule too. Will definitely be rebooking when we need.”

“We have used Ms. Lori several times to watch Cooper, and we will definitely continue booking with her in the future. Every time we drop Cooper off, he gets excited and starts barking as soon as he sees her house! She sends us daily updates and photos, which our kids absolutely love seeing. We always feel comfortable knowing Cooper is in good hands with her. I would highly recommend Ms. Lori to anyone looking for someone to care for their pet!”

“We couldn’t be happier with Stephanie! She took amazing care of our dog, Oliver, while we were away, and we felt completely at ease knowing our pup was in great hands. She sent regular updates, including adorable photos and videos, which made us feel connected even from miles away. Beyond providing excellent care, Stephanie truly bonded with Oliver and made sure he got plenty of playtime, snuggles, and attention. We highly recommend Stephanie to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and communicative sitter. We will definitely be booking with her again 😊”

“Was very appreciative that Donna took Kodi at the last minute when her usual border wasn't available. She seems so pleasant. Kodi was fine. I will definitely use her again if necessary. I gave her a cash tip which I always do so that they can get full benefit of it.”

“Kelly was AMAZING. This was the FIRST time the girls have been separated from us and we could not be happier with the experience. Kelly is Kind, Honest, Loving and above all treated our girls like family. HIGHLY recommend Kelly and we are looking forward to our next stay. Thank you so much Kelly you are a GEM.”

“I cannot say enough good things about Cathy! She is the best dog sitter I’ve ever had and I absolutely love the care she gives my pups. My Saint recent had surgery and Cathy took excellent care of him and handled all his medications. I will definitely keep booking with her!”
“After interviewing 4 other families, my babies picked Bianca & I was very pleased. This was their first time staying with any non-family and they did great! Bianca sent updates & pictures and that relieved my mind. I will use her again!”

“Lindsay was an amazing sitter for Kilo. She was incredibly friendly, responsive, and thoughtful from the very beginning, and took the time to do a meet and greet to be sure Kilo and her pup were a good match. She followed all of our care instructions perfectly and sent consistent updates while we were away, which gave us so much peace of mind. When we picked Kilo up, he was calm, relaxed, and clearly comfortable — it was obvious he felt right at home with Lindsay. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her.”

About: Hello I am Maura! I grew up in a very large family and we always had a dog. I have had four dogs of my own. I have done pet sitting and fostering for families, friends and a dog rescue organization. My husband and I are passionate dog lovers with 30 years of experience caring for dogs of all sizes and ages. I'm reliable, responsible, and dedicated to providing a safe and loving environment for your furry family member. I’ve always been drawn to dogs and spent years volunteering for a dog rescue organization where I gained valuable experience in caring for dogs with a variety of needs. My husband volunteered with me and together we made several trips down south in a large van to rescue puppies from puppy mills or older dogs scheduled to be euthanized for sitting in shelter too long. I offer in-home pet sitting, dog walking, and drop-ins, and I'm happy to administer medication, provide playtime, and ensure your dog's comfort and well-being. I have a strong understanding of dog behavior and am happy to provide personalized care based on your dog's individual needs. My hasband and I are both home every day. I am available to care for dogs day or night. We are very active and include dogs in our daily life along the Potomac River. Spending time in the yard and walking around the neighborhood are part of my daily routine. My home is pet friendly with a large, fenced yard. Dogs are treated as family members. I am open minded and will listen carefully to any specific instructions provided to me for your furry friend.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lexington Park
Jacqueline is terrific and took great care of our little dog very well, as usual. He is always anxious when we leave, but shortly after drop off, we could see through photos and video that he was very comfortable indeed. So nice for us to relax and know that he is in good hands.

Bobbi was amazing and incredibly accommodating. I had a very last-minute work trip and felt completely unprepared, but she handled every hiccup with patience and kindness and immediately put me at ease. She consistently sent daily photos and updates, checked in regularly, and took great care of Roman. It gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, communicative, and compassionate sitter.

Christianna is absolutely wonderful and has been an incredible dog sitter for us over the years. She’s extremely flexible, easy to work with, and clearly cares deeply about the dogs she watches. Our dogs are always so well taken care of with her, and she even celebrated their birthdays while they were staying with her, which meant so much to us. I also accidentally had the wrong dates for our booking, and she went out of her way to accommodate us and take them earlier than planned. We feel very lucky to have found her and trust her completely with our dogs. We would highly recommend! 🐾

Shauna and her husband welcome my Joy into their home as if she were one of their own. Daily communications and photos while I’m away are something I look forward to getting every day. They care for her and love her just like I would. There is no better place for my Joy while I’m away!

I could not be happier! My Luna is such a nervous dog. But Jennifer made her feel at home. She responded to my messages quickly, and set my mind at ease. Jennifer really treats your pet as part of your family! I recommend her 100%. Looking forward to Luna's next visit in November! Thanks so much for taking care of my baby!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
