“We had a last minute traveling need pop up and needed to find boarding for two of our dogs. This is a new experience for us so we were concerned but Kelly put us right at ease and their time with her was amazing! We will 100% be using her again. Kelly was great with communication, knowledgeable on needs, and most importantly made our pups feel at ease and at home! Thank you so much!”

“Alicia and Randy are wonderful pet hosts!!! The care, attention, professionalism, follow up, and the love they have for their furry clients are just a few examples of superior work. You can instantly tell that they have a genuine love for animals, my Lola was treated with love and great care. I recommend Alicia to anyone that is looking for a safe and loving place for their pets stay. Thank you a million times Alicia, Randy, and their pets Cruz and Azalea for opening your house for Lola.”

“Our dog had a great time, she stayed with Ashley for a month. We love that she keep us posted by sending pictures and telling us how Milu was doing. It was great to have that communication. Ashley’s overall energy and interaction made our dog feel comfortable and relaxed. When we pick Milu she was happy, healthy and in good shape. We will definitely book with her again.”

“I am so grateful for finding Erin! She welcomed our Siri at the very last minute and didn't mind one bit. She was also understanding of Siri's excitement with other dogs. I received updates and pictures during the day while we were gone which made me feel at ease knowing Siri was just fine. I will definitely keep Erin in mind if we need to board Siri again. Thank you so much!”

“We just picked up our pup from Lindalyn. He spent 4 days with her. One of the greatest rover experiences we have had to date. She was so good at making sure he felt comfortable the whole time and constantly updated us with pictures and messages to assure us that everything was going great. I would highly recommend her to anyone in the area. Thanks Lindalyn!”

“Lindsay was an amazing sitter for Kilo. She was incredibly friendly, responsive, and thoughtful from the very beginning, and took the time to do a meet and greet to be sure Kilo and her pup were a good match. She followed all of our care instructions perfectly and sent consistent updates while we were away, which gave us so much peace of mind. When we picked Kilo up, he was calm, relaxed, and clearly comfortable — it was obvious he felt right at home with Lindsay. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her.”

“Kerry and her family took amazing care of my dog Briggs while I was out of town. I got loads of adorable pictures, and he was returned groomed and fluffy with a new bandana. I highly recommend them and will be reaching out again when I travel.”

About: I’ve been around dogs most of my life. I currently have a Blue Great Dane named Diesel. He is great with other dogs, and we will have to do a meet and great to make sure you’re pup will get along with him also. I’m usually available unless the wife has me doing something. I spend every min I can with my dog and will show your dog the same treatment. My yard is unfenced for now, but it is 2 acres that’s at the end of a quiet neighborhood. We have plenty of room to play and go on walks.
About: I provide a calm, structured home environment along with attentive home visits. My goal is simple: for your pet to feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for while you’re away. I’m home the majority of the day, which allows me to provide consistent supervision and attention. Because of this, your pup won’t be left alone for extended periods. My home is clean, pet-safe, and designed for comfort. I intentionally limit the number of dogs I board at one time to ensure each pet receives attentive, high-quality care. Located in the desirable and safe Pembrooke neighborhood, I also provide regular photo updates so you can feel confident and connected while you’re away.
About: I’ve have taken car of dog since I was 15 and love all kind of dogs. I have a two years old golden retriever that is fully house trained and love everyone. I work full time in the Navy and can board on the weekends. Also, available to sit and walk dogs Monday-Friday from 5 pm to 10 pm I have fencing yard and a golden retriever to keep you puppy company. Also, I can FaceTime anytime you need to see your puppy or send pictures.
“Kimberly took exceptional care of our pups! Highly highly recommend to anyone looking for an attentive care taker for your fur babies while away. I will not hesitate to call Ms. Kimberly again to watch Greta and Bow again.”

About: I am very experienced with large dogs, energetic and sometimes bitey puppies, cats, senior dogs who may not be able to get around as well, and all ages inbetween! Insulin injections and pill medications are no problem. I also do visits including other small critters and farm animals (rabbits, chickens, ducks, reptiles, etc.) I currently own two Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers, two cats, and a whole flock of chickens. I am usually available with short notice on weekends & evenings! Multi animal households are no problem and I take pride in being very thorough at my meet and greets. If there is anything to know about your pets that would make my visits the best visits ever, please do not hesitate to let me know! My normal office work schedule is 7:30-4:00 Monday-Friday. For my South County friends I may be able to accommodate a daytime drop in for your pets during those hours if absolutely needed. For all other distances and house sitting I am available 4pm and later on weekdays and any time on weekends! Weekday morning drop-ins or walks are scheduled between 5:30am- 7:00am Additional tasks with my services include but are not limited to: bringing in mail & packages, putting trash or recycling out for pick up, returning bins to where they are kept, and watering plants as needed! If you will need me to do any or all of these (or additional tasks) please let me know!
About: I have over 10+ years of experience taking care of animals. When I was in highschool I had a love for all animals and was in a small animal science program where we learned to take care of small animals as well as learn to bathe and give hair cuts to dogs. Once I new this was something I enjoyed I worked at a kennel for a short time before starting to work at Petsmart in NY as a bather. While I was in community college I continued to work as a bather until I moved from home. When I would come home for breaks I would work at the Kennel at Petsmart working the overnight shift. During this whole time I was babysitting, dog/cat sitting and taking care of smaller critters like chinchillas, a turtle, a rabbit, and of course fish. I had used this app for a short time but in March 2020 I moved to Utah to work in the National Park Service. Since I was over an hour away from civilization I deactivated my account but continued to house sit for my co-workers and friends that had dogs and cats. I now work full time but I would love the extra cuddles on my off days. During my off days I am able to visit for a walk/ feeding/ or checkup any time of the day or spend the whole day with your pet if you would like. During my work days I can not visit from 8AM-5:30PM But I am willing to do overnight visits on my work days. I will send you texts and photos during my visits or walks. If that is something you do not want please let me know. I love to check in and let you know what is going on. I do not offer visits at my home
“Laura was awesome! Chacco had a blast during his weekend sleepover and loved hanging out with the other pups. She took great care of him, and I felt totally at ease knowing he was in good hands. He came home happy and tired—always a good sign! Definitely booking with her again.”

Jacqueline is terrific and took great care of our little dog very well, as usual. He is always anxious when we leave, but shortly after drop off, we could see through photos and video that he was very comfortable indeed. So nice for us to relax and know that he is in good hands.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
