“Samantha was great through out the entire trip. She kept us up to date with good photos and clear communication. I appreciated her coming over ahead of the trip to meet the dogs and to get specific questions answered.”

“Hannah is the absolute best! She thinks my pup is just as sweet and adorable as I do. Perfect communication and questions asked for further details. I have complete trust in her. She’s really good at reading dog behavior too. I found my go-to dog sitter!”

“Thank you so much for taking such great care of my pups. They are my family and knowing you were taking such great care of them while I was away was such a relief! Thank you again!!”

“Jessica was amazing, my pups loved her and she took good care of them! She was also available on short noticed. Will definitely be a returning customer of hers.”

“Jordan was amazing. The best sitter we have ever had. She is thorough, communicative and smart! Best of all, our cats fell in love with her. She always brought a toy, spent quality time with them and gave lots of pets. Her pictures, sent after every visit, are adorable. She has a knack for capturing the cutest, funniest and sweetest moments. We felt completely comfortable being away. She even handled the ever-evolving behaviors of a 6 mo old kitten without missing a beat. If you are lucky enough to book with her, don't hesitate!”

“Jennifer was great with Shadow and all the updates made it alot easier to not have loads of guilt being away. I am definitely planning to booking with Jennifer again.”

“Kathleen did an awesome job! We have quite a few pets and she took great care of each of them. We came home to a clean pet environment with very happy animals!! She was in contact with us throughout our trip and sent wonderful rover cards each visit. Will definitely use her the next time we need pet care!! She deserves way more than 5 stars!!!”

“I had a great mini-vacation because all my pets were very well taken care of. I'm even planning my next vacation and I want Brittany to pet sit because my animals definitely loved her. Some pet sitters before never even saw my cats, but Brittany saw all of them and even got to pet and love on them. That to me means a lot! My almost 15 year old dog was very well cared for and Brittany definitely showed patience with her. I'd recommend Brittany to anyone looking for a pet sitter.”

About: Moved to Lexington Park area from being stationed in Japan! With a lifetime of experience caring for cats and dogs, I know that pets are more than just animals—they’re family. I’ve raised three dogs and currently have both a poodle and a cat. My skills include puppy training, crate training, basic command training, and managing pets with medical needs, including medication administration. I’m also experienced with reactive dogs, allergies, and maintaining breed-specific grooming standards. As a passionate pet lover, I volunteered with the Red Cross animal visitation program while Active Duty & St Mary Animal Humane Society. You can trust me to treat your pets with the same love and attention I give my own! I work part-time and live 10 minutes from my house. I always check in on my pets during lunch. My husband works nights so he is home while I’m at work and we switch. I have a fenced yard, and lots of dog friendly walking areas. I have two friendly pets who do very well with other animals. I crate my dog when I leave home for safety & use cameras to check in on them.

About: I have always been around all different animals all growing up, and understand it comes with patience, and love most of all . I have always believed animals have feelings just like we do as humans ! I’m currently working park time and am available any time of the day/night except Tuesdays & Thursdays. I can come in and play , go on a walk , feed, and sit and show love . I can come into clients home, and focus entirely on the animals giving them the care they need while understanding it is not my home .
“Was so nice to trust that Sarah was taking care of our cat while we were out of town, including giving her nightly meds and the extra love and attention she needs. Sarah sent picture and video updates with every drop in visit, and was patient and understanding with a key mishap. Thanks so much!”

“My family used for 3 pop in visits to our home. She fed and did potty breaks every 4 hours for our great dane and beagle. She did a meet and greet before hand to get information and see the dogs. She even dropped off a piece of clothing at my request so our dogs would be used to her scent. I was very pleased with the service and will be using her again to watch our fur babies in the future. This was during the holidays.”

“Leah is wonderful!! She’s a great communicator and wonderful with my cats. She took great care of them while I was gone . She’s very reliable , I knew my cats were in great hands, so I could relax and enjoy my vacation I will definitely call Leah next time I go away.”

Melissa takes great care of my cat. My cat recently had health problems, Melissa has been very good about keeping a close eye on her and reporting back to me any observations she makes during the visits. All of my cat's care is preformed exactly as requested and she sends pictures during every visit. She also has brought deliveries inside the house which I really appreciate!
Hannah is awesome and so good with our animals! They warmed up to her right away, even our super shy kitty. She is very thorough and not afraid to ask questions to make sure the animals are taken care of perfectly. She was very patient and easy going after we had some issues with getting her in the house. Will definitely be my go to sitter for my fur babies from now on.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
