About: I’ve been taking care of animals since I was 14 through friends, family, and neighbors. I have been expected to feed, bathe, walk, and clean litter boxes. I have had a love for animals since I was a young child and always make sure they have the love and care they need. I have an older boy named Taz who I love dearly. I currently work full time Mon.-Fri. until around 5 o clock. I am available in the evenings during the week, and any time on the weekends. I worry about my baby when I am away so I completely understand the expectation of your animal being taken care of however is best for him/her. It’s important to me to give each animal the attention they need and also respect your wishes as well as theirs.
“I had an unexpected last minute trip and thought I had my pup taken care of, unfortunately I was 500+ miles away when I found out he wasn’t being cared for - thank goodness for Karissa! I reached out in a panic about needing someone to take care of my dog for the remaining 2 days I would be out of town and she immediately agreed to help! She was super on it, there during the time frames I requested, sent lots of photos and made sure my pup got the love and care he deserved! Will 100% book again with her for any future trips! She’s an absolute life saver!!”
“Jennifer was absolutely amazing! I have a younger/needy kitty and she snuggled and played with him the same way I would have. She made me feel sooo much better about leaving my pets. I’ll def be rebooking!”

“Gayle is an outstanding dog sitter! She took wonderful care of our dog, Stella, while we were away. She is incredibly reliable, trustworthy, and provided cheerful photo updates. We won't hesitate to book her again!”

“Christina is very reliable, and actually got our 12 year old “scaredy-cat” to come out to meet her. I am very impressed! I recommend her, and will be hiring her again.”

About: I’ve taken care of my Yorkshire Terrier for the past 11 years. I have experience with walking, bathing, feeding, and even assisting to medical needs. In past years I’ve helped pet sat guinea pigs, rabbits, and, of course, dogs of all breeds. I will be in town from now until January 7th. I am free in the mornings, afternoons, and evenings. I do not mind staying late or early. I have no problem giving your pet attention and I love to stay active with them. I have experience crating dogs and cleaning up messes.
“Leah checked in and sent a picture of my boy every time she visited while I was away, and he seemed so happy in every shot. Leah is courteous and reliable, and I'm really glad she was the person to drop in while I was not home. I highly recommend Leah and will I hire her again the next time I have to be away.”

“Corbyn did a great job taking care of our dogs while we were out of town. She was great at communicating, and it was nice to know our dogs were well cared for! I will definitely book with her again!”

“This was our second time having Alisa watch the kitties, and she was great ! Truly went above and beyond. Sent us cool slow-mo videos among other things. She also seems genuinely good with our cats, and always leaves everything very clean.”

“Nikita was phenomenal! This weekend was a bit of last minute request and she came through big time! Dolly (my dog) is already in love with her. Her attention to detail and being accommodating (even when I forgot to leave the key!) was above and beyond. Planning now to make this a regular gig!”

“Helene always does a great job of loving my furbabes well! She’s done multiple overnights for us previously, and has been so great at helping out during the day as needed as well. Easy to communicate with, reliable, and flexible. Highly recommend!”

“Sarah was excellent with our pup. Enzo was clearly well taken care of in our absence and we are grateful for the respect and care she gave our home while we were away. I definitely would use her services again in the future!”

About: I’ve had pets since I was 8 years old, from puppies to hamsters and baby ducks. I’ve helped my Yorkie through labor and cared for my senior dog until his last breath. I believe animals are innocent creatures who deserve a fulfilling life full of love and care. In my free time, I like to volunteer at the animal rescue center helping cats and dogs who were left helpless. At the shelter, volunteers care for them, feed and bathe them, and get them accustomed to humans, building trust through walks and playtime. I’d love to get to know your loving pet and treat them as family! I’m currently working a part-time job so I’d love to meet as many pets as possible! I’m open on the weekends for drop-ins and playtime/potty break visits. I’m also open on weekdays, but it depends on the week so please give me a heads up! I’m an early bird, so I prefer visiting early in the morning until 3pm. I have a spacious fenced backyard that my Yorkies love to play in. They are the real bosses of the house, so they’re spoiled to the max. They love long walks, car rides, and treats!
“Leia was such a kind loving soul. The minute I met her I knew I had made the right choice. She took care of my cats as if they were her own. I left so many instructions and she followed each one perfectly. When I travel again there is no question that I will call on her. For loving, quality care you cannot get any better.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lavergne
I reached out to Jennifer on a very last-minute request to look in on our cat for a few days, and she replied quickly and was able to help us out! With a few schedule adjustments, which was no problem, and our boy seemed to get along with her just fine. Jennifer was easy to communicate with and helped us out a bunch!

My husband and I went on a 2 week trip, leaving behind our 4 cats to be cared for by Rachel. I’m a little bit high maintenance and left a long list of chores for her to take care of and she did it all! She took care of each kitty’s individual needs, kept me updated the entire time, and let me enjoy my vacation with complete peace of mind. I love having her as my sitter while we’re away. Thank you as always Rachel, you’re the best!

For my first time using rover, the process was very smooth with Corbyn. She was great at lessening my nerves with the pics she sent with every visit. And my dogs loved her! She watched my 7month old puppy and my 9 year old dog. Would recommend her and would hire her again if I ever need a rover in the future!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
