About: I dog sit two pets in my family, and I have since I was 12. I've owned a cat since I was 8 and since then got another one. Animals are very special to me, I love all animals no matter what they are. I work part time and I'm full time in college. However, I can easily make time for your pet. Their care is more important to me than anything. I no longer live with my cats, but visit them often. I'm very gentle with my cats, and try to play with them often. My cats are older, 9 and 10, so there's not much to do but cuddle and engage in simple play.

About: I've grown up taking care of pets; my childhood cat and my cousin's dog. I've cared for my neighbor's animals and currently have both a cat and a dog. My family and I trained my dog at home and I can help reinforce any training you're doing with your animal. I'm currently a college student in Boston and I'm looking to walk or sit pets as a part-time job and stay connected to my love for animals! During the winter and summer break, I have few commitments and can be very flexible with my hours and your pet's needs. I can do long walks for dogs, feed, play, clean up, and other general needs for both cats and dogs! I'm happy to send photo updates throughout the day if sitting or have flexible hours with whatever time your dog is typically walked!

Michael was great with our cats! They are not socialized well and so are a little shy and Michael was patient with them and took the time they needed to warm up. Michael was incredibly responsive and kind- highly recommend him!

About: Book with me. To ensure you have the best sitter for your pup, I provide a safe, warming, calm, fun environment when booked for an overnight stay at my place. Constant walks throughout the day. Always keep about two bowls of water around the house and provide daily morning exercise routines (my morning walks/jogs). I do recommend clients/parents to provide food and treats for dogs and keep me aware of any allergies or habits the pup has. I have no problem buying treats or toys as long as it’s okay with the client/parent. This also goes for traveling to clients/parents homes.

About: Hi! My name is Veronica, and I’m a graduate student, athlete, and huge animal lover with experience caring for dogs of different ages, sizes, and personalities. I’m very active and love being outside, so dog walking and playtime are something I genuinely enjoy. Whether your dog loves long walks, needs extra patience, or just wants company during the day, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I understand how important trust and communication are when someone else is caring for your pet, so I always try to be dependable, responsive, and attentive to each dog’s routine and needs. I also send photo updates during visits so you can feel relaxed knowing your pet is doing well. I’m comfortable with energetic dogs, shy dogs, puppies, and senior pets. I’d love the opportunity to meet your dog and help make your day a little easier! Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, and I love being able to dedicate time to it each day. I have classes in the mornings and early afternoons, so I’m available for walks and drop-in visits in the after 3 PM on Mondays, between 1 PM and 6 PM on Tuesdays, and later in the day on Fridays, after 3 PM. I’m also flexible on other days depending on your pet’s needs! I’m great at sticking to routines, so whether your pet needs a midday walk, evening visit, or consistent check-ins, I’ll make sure they get the attention, care, and exercise they deserve. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. When caring for pets in your home, I make sure to follow your instructions closely so your pet can stay in their familiar routine and environment. I take the time to build trust with each pet, paying attention to their behavior, energy level, and individual needs. I always ensure doors, gates, and leashes are secure during walks and visits, and I’m mindful of surroundings to keep your pet safe at all times. I also provide regular updates so you can feel confident and at ease knowing your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for.

Taylor was absolutely wonderful with our new puppy, Cooper. We were so worried about having to be away from him, but Taylor kept us updated on everything Cooper was doing. She bonded with him so well and even worked with him on playing fetch and training him to "drop it" We absolutely recommend her! Thanks so much, Taylor!

He was open to all my directions for my new puppy and comfortable dropping in without meeting her and not knowing what to expect. Took adorable pics and sent great notes! I do the job full time and so far I’m happy I found him :)

Lauren was absolutely wonderful and took such great care of my cat while I was away on vacation. She sent me updates and pictures every visit and was so patient with my shy kitty who spent her first few visits hiding. They ultimately became best buds which made me feel so much better about being away. I would definitely recommend Lauren and would definitely have her again!

About: Hi, I’m Lauren! I was a proud dog mom to two amazing girl dogs until recently, and I truly miss the joy of caring for a dog. While my family isn’t ready to have another of our own just yet, I’d love to help others by spending time with their furry family members. When I was young, I worked as a Seeing Eye Dog trainer, which gave me years of experience with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. I’m patient, reliable, and comfortable with everything from playful puppies to older companions who just want a calm walk and a cuddle. Whether you need drop-ins, walks, or overnight care, I’ll make sure your pup feels loved, safe, and right at home while you’re away. I work a hybrid schedule. Typcailly I work from home on Wednesdays and always Fridays. On the work from home days, I don't start until 10AM so I am free in the mornings and will take my lunch for the afternoon walks. In our home, we have an enclosed deck. Gate if needed to avoid the stairs. Nothing on the ground to chew. Pet free home. In other homes, I am always wondering where the pup is. I ensure to keep a close eye if they tend to be a trouble maker.

About: I have over two years of professional experience working with dogs and have been a dog owner for more than 15 years. I believe in allowing dogs to approach at their own pace and building trust through patience and understanding. I have experience caring for puppies as well as dogs with behavioral challenges. I’m a college student with flexible availability. The only times I’m unavailable are Tuesdays before 1 PM and Thursdays. I live at home, so overnights at my home aren’t an option, but I’m happy to stay overnight at your home if needed. I am capable of handling multi-dog families. Due to my background, I'm used to seeing sibling sets of 2-3, despite never personally owning more than 2 dogs at 1 time

About: I have taken care of dogs of all sizes since I was a little kid. I have experience caring for elderly and sick dogs who require oral medication, assistance walking, other medications, and 24/7 care (overnight potty breaks, overnight feedings, etc). I have 1 dog currently but have had as many as 3 dogs living in my house at once. I am home/remote full-time, so I am available to give your pet around the clock attention, care, and (most importantly) cuddles! I am away from my home for errands for 3 hours at a time at most (during the daytime, daily) and have tons of both cat and dog toys at home to keep your pet entertained while I am away. I am also available for walks all day, and have a fenced-in yard for additional play time. I have a fenced-in yard with a large backyard to accommodate all the zoomies at all times of the day. I also have a crate if needed for your pet. I have 1 dog and 4 cats that are all pet-friendly and will keep your fur babies entertained all day long. About: I’ve been caring for dogs for most of my life and currently have two dogs of my own. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to walk, feed, play with, and care for their pets while they’re away. I understand that every dog has a unique personality and routine, and I strive to make each pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved. As an active person who enjoys walking and being outdoors, I can provide energetic walks for dogs who need exercise while also giving gentle attention to senior dogs who prefer a slower pace. I’m dependable, communicative, and will treat your pets like they’re part of my own family. I know how important peace of mind is when leaving your pet with someone else, and I’ll provide updates and photos so you know they’re in great hands. I’m a stay-at-home mom of two school-aged children and am looking for flexible work that allows me to care for pets during school hours. My schedule is open on weekdays while my children are in school, and for certain walks or drop-in visits, my kids may accompany me when appropriate. I’m reliable, active, and love spending time outdoors with dogs of all sizes and energy levels. As a lifelong dog owner, I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet. I currently have two friendly dogs of my own and treat every pet as if they were part of my family. I follow owners' instructions carefully, prioritize safety on walks and during visits, and provide regular updates with photos for peace of mind. My goal is to make sure your pet feels comfortable, loved, and well cared for while you're away.

About: I’ve been watching dogs for years, and I’ve had one almost my entire life. Neighbors, families and friends have always relied on me with their dogs. For the last two years, I owned a beautiful golden retriever that unfortunately recently passed away due to a rare disease called mega-esophagus which developed into aspirational pneumonia. With that being said, I have a lot of experience caring for dogs with special needs. LGBTQ+ friendly 🏳️‍🌈 I work primarily from home, so I have a lot of flexibility. I’m available mostly any day, any time, except before 11am. I will make your pet my priority! If interested, feel free to view my professional LinkedIn profile by searching Eric Barbieri in South Amboy, NJ. Relax while you’re gone and know that you’re pup is in good hands. About: Hello! My name is Lily and I’ve been working with animals for a little over 3 years. Through past experience, I’ve gained knowledge about dog training, body language, play behavior and specific breed behaviors. I love working with dogs and I enjoy being able to make them feel comfortable and happy! I’m currently a college student and working part time but I still have lots of free time dedicated to taking care of your beautiful pets. As for taking care of my own dog, I prioritize enrichment activities and spending time outside. We love to go on hikes and spend time at the beach. I like to bring these same principles into my clients homes as well, therefore, making sure your dog gets enough physical and mental activity is a top priority.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Laurence Harbor choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Laurence Harbor with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Laurence Harbor. On Rover:

  • 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
