About: I've never been a professional pet sitter, but I've proudly been the go-to sitter for family and friends for as long as I can remember. From playful pups to senior sweethearts. I've always loved caring for animals of all kinds. And yes, I've even pet-sat hermit crabs. In fact, one cat-sitting job turned into a 12-year relationship with my late cat Kitty (I know..very creative). I treat every pet as my own and understand how important it is to trust the person caring for them. My goal is simply happy pets and happy owners. My current priorities are my education and my son. Outside of those responsibilities, I have a flexible schedule and can provide dependable, loving care for your pets. My goal is to step in and make them feel safe, loved, and cared for while you're away. I'll stick to their routine, give them plenty of attention, play, and affection, making sure they feel like they're spending time with a friend instead of a stranger. I'll always keep you updated with photos and check-ins to give you peace of mind.

“maribeth is amazing! samoas was so excited to see her and absolutely loved their walk around the development. she does a great job staying in touch and providing updates throughout the visit. i highly recommend her if you ever need a sitter, especially for last minute help!”

About: I’ve taken care of 5 family dogs from puppyhood to later stages of life as well as dog sat for family friends and other family members. I currently work full time but I get home around 3pm most days. I normally get home and take my puppy Robin on a two mile walk and run. I care for Robin with a fenced in small yard and using the crate for when me and my fiancée are out. I would take care of your dog in whichever way you need.
About: Book with me. To ensure you have the best sitter for your pup, I provide a safe, warming, calm, fun environment when booked for an overnight stay at my place. Constant walks throughout the day. Always keep about two bowls of water around the house and provide daily morning exercise routines (my morning walks/jogs). I do recommend clients/parents to provide food and treats for dogs and keep me aware of any allergies or habits the pup has. I have no problem buying treats or toys as long as it’s okay with the client/parent. This also goes for traveling to clients/parents homes.
“Dina is wonderful, was very accommodating to our needs, even changed dates for me last minute when I made an error in booking. She is kind and we felt very comfortable with our furry sons in her care ❤️ we loved getting pics of them! Would absolutely use Dina again and recommend her for your pet sitting needs!”

“Dominique was absolutely wonderful with our sweet Millie! She was timely for the drop-in and made sure Millie was happy and comfortable by scooping her litter, refilling her food, giving her a treat and playing with her. We could not have asked for a better sitter to give us peace of mind!”

“Kimberly is an awesome pet center. She took care of our cats for 3 1/2 weeks making sure they had food water and a clean litter box. She also did a few other things around our place. I would totally recommend her for your pet sitting services. She volunteered to vacuum and take out the trash and take out the trash even though that was not on our list of to do‘s.”

About: I am dog/cat CPR/FA certified and have provided many years of animal care, as well as always owning my own. I have experience training pups on tricks and potty training. I have also had experience with end of life pets providing comfort care and medication administration. I provide daily care for my animals at home! I work from home every day and I have a generally flexible schedule. I am able to walk away from my desk to help you care for your loved ones on short notice. I have a home with a fenced in yard and my two dogs and cat love to hang out in it! When caring for others pets, I will always do a walk around of the property to ensure it is safe for the pet to explore. I always prefer if the pet parent leaves me with a checklist or letter for their preferences and will follow this. I will always ask about allergies, triggers and history for the pet to ensure they are safe with me, other people, and another pets.
“Allison was absolutely fantastic! I have 2 cats, Lady and Casey. Casey needs medication twice a day for Hyperthyroidism and IBD. Lady is very timid around strangers. From the moment Allison came over to meet them, both Lady and Casey were comfortable with her. Allison sent pictures while I was away and I was amazed at how engaged Lady was with her. Allison gave Casey his medication while I was away. So happy ! When I came home, I came home to 2 happy cats. She even took in my packages that came while I was away. There are many different people to choose from on Rover and I am grateful I chose Allison! If you're looking for a pet sitter to truly care I highly recommend Allison!!”

About: Hi, I’m Lauren! I was a proud dog mom to two amazing girl dogs until recently, and I truly miss the joy of caring for a dog. While my family isn’t ready to have another of our own just yet, I’d love to help others by spending time with their furry family members. When I was young, I worked as a Seeing Eye Dog trainer, which gave me years of experience with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. I’m patient, reliable, and comfortable with everything from playful puppies to older companions who just want a calm walk and a cuddle. Whether you need drop-ins, walks, or overnight care, I’ll make sure your pup feels loved, safe, and right at home while you’re away. I work a hybrid schedule. Typcailly I work from home on Wednesdays and always Fridays. On the work from home days, I don't start until 10AM so I am free in the mornings and will take my lunch for the afternoon walks. In our home, we have an enclosed deck. Gate if needed to avoid the stairs. Nothing on the ground to chew. Pet free home. In other homes, I am always wondering where the pup is. I ensure to keep a close eye if they tend to be a trouble maker.
“everything went exceptionally well with Kevin taking care of Darla and River. Kevin was punctual, followed instructions that were left and interacted with the dogs extremely well. I give him 5 STARS and will use him when his services are required in the future.”
“Paige, I can’t thank you enough for scheduling on short notice. I feel like Reef misses his walks with you already. The service and care was amazing. I would recommend Paige to anyone looking at a sitter! Will be requesting you every time I’m away! Thanks again”
“Thank you so much! Nicholas went above and beyond for Harvey and even took him out to play with his favorite ball! Your attention to detail doesn’t go unnoticed! Thank you again!”

“Mike was communicative, adherent to our schedule, and followed all instructions requested of him. He also sent a ton of pictures, which I really appreciated. It was refreshing to just be able to enjoy my trip knowing that my dog was taken care of. I would absolutely recommend him to others (just not during the times I’m away 😉)”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
