About: I truly treat every pet like they’re my own. I’m patient, attentive, and very in tune with an animal’s body language and needs. Whether it’s a high-energy puppy who needs structure and consistency, or a senior pet who needs a slower pace and gentle care, I adjust to what makes them feel safe and comfortable. I’m great at sticking to routines, administering basic medications if needed, and keeping owners updated with photos and messages so you always feel at ease. What sets me apart is that I don’t just “watch” pets. I bond with them. I want them to feel loved, secure, and happy while you’re away. Consider this their home away from home 😍🤗 I’m self employed, which gives me a very flexible schedule and allows me to prioritize pet care throughout my day. I have open availability for drop ins, walks, and extended stays, and I’m able to adjust my routine to meet your pet’s needs because I control my own schedule, I can provide consistent attention, timely feedings, potty breaks, playtime, and lots of love. Pet care isn’t something I have to “fit in” I intentionally build my day around it. Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for pets. In a client’s home, I respect your space and follow your pet’s routine exactly as instructed to keep things consistent and stress free. I double check doors, gates, and leashes, and I’m always mindful of keeping pets secure at all times. In my home (if applicable), I provide a clean, calm, and pet safe environment with plenty of supervision and attention. I make sure anything harmful is out of reach and that pets feel comfortable and relaxed. I pay close attention to behavior changes, eating habits, and overall well being, and I communicate openly with owners through updates and photos so you always feel connected and reassured while you’re away.

About: While I've never been paid to pet sit, I've checked in on my neighbor's dogs upon request, feeding them and taking them outside when necessary. It's impossible to estimate just how long I've cared for animals. While I'm on the hunt for a full or part time job over the summer, my availability will be flexible. As of now, I will be available at any time on any day. I've been around all sorts of animals in my life, currently living with my family's two boy dogs, Tucker and Charlie. With them, I've become familiar with using crates, feeding schedules, playtime, and of course, cuddles.

About: I’m new to the San Antonio area but I’ve been taking care of animals all my life. I grew up on a farm in Maryland with dogs, cats, horses, cows, bunnies, and chickens. I previously did Rover in Charlotte, NC. In addition to my own animals, I have dog and cat sat throughout college. I work fully remote from home so I can be somewhat flexible. I am willing to work with you, and your family based on what your needs are. I do my best to keep things as similar to what pets are used to. I am very flexible and can follow any intructions that are provided for me. Oh, and I am always excited to provide lots of scratches and love!

About: Taken care of many different breeds of all different sizes. I’ve been taking care of dogs and cats for many years. Active on Wag and now looking to expand to Rover. I have experience with different diets, medications and animals with special needs. Just looking to create a safe space for your furry babies while you are away! I work from home so sittings can easily be done at the comfort of your own home. If walks are more what you need I’m flexible to what works best for your pet! Would have a great communication style with the pet parent to know what expectations they require to make the sitting as safe and fun as possible!

About: I have 10 years of experience with military working dogs. Friends and neighbors have typically entrusted me to care for their furry family members over the years. On weekends, I am very flexible to whatever hours and activities you may need also. I have a large fenced in yard and a park within half a mile for great walks during the day or evening. About: I've grown up around different animals in my home. The most common being dogs with their sizes ranging from a small chihuahua to a large dog who was a mixed breed. Cats were also included in our household, one in particular being quite feisty yet well cared for. Within that household, there were also birds and turtles. I also volunteered at an animal sanctuary for a while so I do have some experience in dealing with the more bizarre kinds of animals as well. I’m currently in the middle of working on my thesis for my master’s degree. Fortunately I’m at a state where my time is quite malleable as long as I’m notified within reason. I did move out of my hometown, so I am currently not caring for any pets which does allow for more free time. As such, I am able to care for most animals at a flexible rate. I can give company to any pet. If necessary, I can help crate them or give other proper care for them. Back home I’ve helped crate and transport my dogs and cat to the vet. When there was thunder one of my dogs was terrified of the sound, so normally we would wrap a blanket or towel around them and hold them to help comfort the little doggy for a while.

About: I've been an animal lover before I could walk. I've taken care of animals large and small, from horses to hamsters. I spent 10 years in the Marines working alongside and training with the military working dogs. My sidekick is Scarlett, a mellow mannered lab mix who loves every critter, even my mom's raccoon. Scarlett is a great partner for helping socialize other dogs and is always up for cuddles on the couch with new cat friends. I'm currently medically retired from the military with plenty of time and not enough critters to fill it with. My dog, Scarlett is always wanting a play date too. I live in an animal friendly apartment with a great dog park in the complex and only a short drive from an enormous park where your fur baby can run free. Also, I am more than happy to help your fur baby feel more comfortable by coming to them and being the guest in their castle instead

About: Caring for pets is one of my favorite things I get to experience throughout my lifetime! I am definitely an animal person! I have always had a huge space in my heart for pets and I hope I can give the love your pets deserve while you take some time to yourself! I’ve interacted with many pets throughout my life, I have even worked at petco, and I’d like to say it is easy for me to create a good bond with them. I do have two dogs of my own that are some of the most important beings in my life. I know that if I had someone dogsit them I would want the best in the market, so that is where I would understand how you would want me to engage with your pet and would take every need into consideration ! I am currently a college student, but only have online courses at the moment! This allows me to have an open availability to help with different schedules. My pets currently stay inside most of the time, but have some great bonding time with other dogs when we go to the dog park!

About: I am a reliable and compassionate animal sitter with over 15 years of experience caring for a wide variety of animals, including dogs, cats, fish, rats, and lizards. My long history working with different species has given me a strong understanding of animal behavior, routines, and individual needs. In addition to caring for others’ pets, I also have two dogs of my own, which has deepened my sense of responsibility and attentiveness when it comes to animal care. I know how important it is for pet owners to feel confident that their animals are safe, comfortable, and well cared for while they are away Currently have open availability for those last minute trips or trips that are planned in advanced. Able to do in home care and for long walks. I provide attentive, reliable care for pets both in my home and in their own homes, depending on what is most comfortable for them and their owners. In my home, I create a calm, safe, and welcoming environment where pets can feel relaxed and cared for, while maintaining their usual routines as much as possible. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize keeping their environment familiar and stress-free by following their normal feeding schedules, playtime routines, and any special instructions provided. I understand that every pet has unique needs and personalities, so I focus on providing patient, individualized care to ensure they feel secure, comfortable, and well looked after while their owners are away.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Lakehills. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Lakehills.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lakehills. On Rover:

  • 87% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
