“Alyssha did a great job with our cat Blanco! She was communicative and easy to work with, and didn't need reminding of tasks. I also appreciated that she had very thorough questions about his care, as it was our first time hiring her. Would definitely rebook!”

“We had a wonderful experience with Adrianna! She took excellent care of Jackson and Honor and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We received regular updates and photos, which made it so reassuring to know our pets were happy and well cared for. She was reliable, attentive, and clearly treated Jackson and Honor like her own. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend Adrianna to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter!”

“Stephanie was amazing 10⭐️. I could tell the second I met her or even communicated through messaging, that she loved animals. After the meet and greet, I totally felt at ease leaving my dog 🐶 in her hands. Don’t second guess who to go with, definitely go with Stephanie. Im newer to the area and Stephanie is for sure my new go to for all my animal help😁🥳 BIG THANK YOU STEPHANIE🤩”

“Cecilia was a great comfort to have watching our babies while we were out of town! She took so many pics to share with us, kept us updated every day, and clearly our cats loved her as well. Thank you for everything!!!”

“Cat is the best sitter we've ever had - she is very considerate and thorough in all stages of the process, very communicative and pleasant. We will definitely work with her again if she is available.”

About: I have owned 2 dogs of my own, as well as sitting for many friends and family. My very first job at 10 years old was requested by my neighbors to watch their dogs while they were away. I have experience with all ages, including senior dogs, as my own both required a lot of hands on care in their golden year, including bi-weekly fluids, medications and special diets. I work part-time, sometimes in the morning to late-afternoon or late-afternoon to evening, usually 4 days a week. This schedule is not the same every week but I usually know 2 weeks ahead of time. There is someone home everyday after 5pm and all day Friday-Sunday as well. I have a townhouse with a fenced in yard. No ability to crate at the moment but plenty of space to crate if one can be provided. There are currently no other animals in my house, as my Biscuit cross the rainbow bridge last year. Both people in the home have owned pets, and have experience with care. Someone is home most of the time, minimal hours alone if any. Weekends will have someone home all day. House has step that can easily be blocked off by a gate if needed.
“Jessie is absolutely awesome with my beagle mix, Jake! She walks him around the block and then brings him in and plays with him. He listens to her (not us, so much) and does what she says. Jake loves her and looks forward to her visits. I have Jessie booked until the end of the year because she is so good with him!! Highly recommended!”

“Chelsea was great with our two 4 legged babies, she was extremely nice, and attentive to our dogs, followed instructions without any issues & communicated perfectly. Will book with her again when needed”

“Deanna was able to accept a last minute booking to watch our Luna, allowing us to spend more time at parents weekend with our daughter at college. We really appreciate Deanna’s photos and updates of our Luna! Thank you Deanna!”

“My five cats got the best possible care while we were away. Cameron made sure to check on each even though a few hid (because, cats!). Highly recommend Cameron and will definitely hire again!!”

“Nicole was wonderful. Recent relocate and first time using her. Meet and greet went great and I felt secure that my little Sophia was in good hands. Communication and photos proved that. I will definitely use her again and you will not be disappointed. Thank you very very much. Belva”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Lake Fern
Alyssha did such a great job taking care of our cats and bunny while we were away for a week! It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were being well cared for while we were gone. She was reliable, kept us updated, and communicated with us throughout the week, which we really appreciated. We came home to happy, well-cared-for pets and would absolutely recommend Alyssha and use her again! ❤️ :::

Cecilia was awesome! She came and did drop-in visits with our cat Millie, and got her to warm up to her right away! She sent awesome updates and lots of pics during our visit showing our girl getting lots of love and pets! She made our time away feel much better knowing she was in good hands! Will definitely book her again for future vacations :)

Kassidy was very attentive and very good with communications. She checked in with me every time before, during and after the visit. She also provided lots of pictures and videos while we were away. I felt very comfortable and confident with her care for my cats. I will def be contacting her again next time we are out of town!

Faith took great care of our fur babies. We got stuck for a longer duration out of town due to weather and had to extend care and she was so flexible and caring! She even stopped by to turn the heat up when the trmps dropped! We will definitely ask her to watch them again! Highly recommend!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lake Fern. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
