“Monica helped me with a pretty short notice request. She followed instructions and really went above and beyond. She took my dog to a park and got him a pup cup and she didn’t have to do all that. Put me at ease while out of town knowing he was living his best life with Monica! I will absolutely be using Monica again when something comes up.”

“Ashlyn is fantastic with our two dogs! We had her stay for another weekend of house sitting, and she is excellent with our dogs and our home. Her communication prior to the stay is exceptional, and she also provided updates and photos throughout the stay. It's so nice knowing that our furbabies are in great hands with her!”

“Rebecca did a wonderful job with our one year old German Shepherd. She was professional, thorough and very responsive to me when I would check in. I appreciated her staying with our boy and will definitely reach out to her again!”

“Elizabeth came highly recommended by another superb housesitter, and she lived up to every expectation. She sent regular check-ins, with photos of our pets showing them calm and content; and we returned to a house in fine order. Thanks, Beth!”

“Shelly was great with our two dogs. They can be rambunctious, but it didn’t phase her. She kept us updated and sent pictures while she was with them. We’ll definitely have her back.”

“Mia did amazing with our dogs. They are sensitive and tend to have high anxiety when things change. Upon coming home there were no accidents and the dogs approached us as if nothing happened, meaning, she loved them and tended to them in the same mannor we would. She also gave the same love to our bearded dragon. Thank you so much for stepping in while we can step out!”

“Zach was an excellent pet sitter! He provided daily photo updates, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. He made sure Rebel got a walk every day and took great care of all of our pets—Rebel, our dog, and Lilly and Bella, our cats. It was clear they were well cared for and comfortable while we were gone. We really appreciated his communication, reliability, and the care he showed our pets. We’d absolutely trust Zach to watch them again.”

About: I grew up with dogs my entire life. My family calls me the dog whisperer! I love animals and I love to be able to play with them. Whenever any of my family goes out of town I am the first person they call to babysit their pups! I promise to take great care of your pups and I will treat them as if they were my own! I am great with making sure they eat on time, go for their daily walks, and get all of the loving they deserve! I will make sure to find out what your furbaby likes and dislikes because I want to make them feel comfortable and safe in the best atmosphere possible. I want your baby to feel loved by me and know they're in good hands when their parents have to leave for a little bit. :) I do work outside of the house but work from home at least one day if not two a week and am home in the evenings and weekends. I make sure to take care of the pets as I would my own pets and my own home. I want them to feel comfortable with my family!
“Maggie was awesome. She stayed at our house for over a week and did a great job caring for our dog & 4 cats. Usually our pets seem a little on edge when we get back from trips (with boarding & drop in sitters) but they are all calm and content. She left our house in good shape & even washed the sheets before she left!!”

“Jamie is the best, she’s been our walker for years and is the only one we trust to watch dog overnight.Jamie always sends the best photos and updates! We can always relax when our dog is in her care. Our dog is getting older and has a difficult time with changes in routine, it’s such a relief to know that she is always excited to see Jamie and has a great time while we’re away! She always leaves our home in perfect condition, too. Cannot recommend her enough.”

About: I work at The Wag Dog Bar in Grandview! If your pups like other ones, let’s talk about the possibility of me bringing them for a few hours! If that makes you uncomfortable, no worries! I will still enjoy doing all other services to provide for your pup :) This position put me through a lot of training about dog behavior! I recently rescued my very own bully mix from the shelter. I am very comfortable with any and all pups! I am currently working two part time jobs so my schedules often changes! If you want to ask, please reach out and I will provide you my schedule for the whole week! My pup is like my child. I treat her with gentleness, just like I would your pup. I always have treats on hand (please let me know if your pup has any allergies!) I always go by the policy that the pup’s comfort and experience comes first!!

About: I’ve been an animal lover my entire life and understand that pets are family. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I’m patient, dependable, attentive to routines, and skilled at recognizing behavioral changes and individual needs. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to care for their dogs by feeding them, taking them on walks, providing companionship, administering basic medications when instructed, and making sure they feel safe and loved while their owners are away. I have experience providing both in-home pet sitting and boarding dogs in my own home. Before transitioning into the corporate world, I partnered with a friend who owned a successful dog-sitting business, where I cared for pets for approximately six years. During that time, I gained experience working with dogs of different breeds, sizes, personalities, and care needs. I’m now excited to return to pet care because it’s something I truly enjoy. I enjoy spending quality time with pets of all ages, from energetic puppies to senior dogs who need a little extra patience and care. Whether your pet needs exercise, playtime, cuddles, or simply someone reliable to keep them company, I’ll treat them with the same love and attention I give my own animals. My goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing your furry family member is in caring and trustworthy hands. I work a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide dependable and attentive care for your pets. I understand that every pet has unique needs, and I’m happy to accommodate feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medication routines, and plenty of affection. I’ll communicate with you throughout each visit by sending updates and photos so you can feel confident your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and any special instructions before every visit. Whether I’m caring for your pet in your home or taking them for a walk, I’ll provide patient, loving, and attentive care while respecting your home and your pet’s boundaries. I’m dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to making sure your furry family member feels comfortable, secure, and loved every step of the way.

About: I’ve pet sat for friends of friends and neighbors in KY for a few years and hope to do the same here. I love taking care of animals, I’ve had a few over the years including 2 dogs, 3 cats and a snake. I’ve been lucky enough to raise some of them from birth. On Wednesday to Friday the pets will have my undivided attention if needs be. I get off work at about 3 and still have all day to you pet. I am also fully flexible if plans change or if something comes up. I have stopped cat fights and created a Great Dane with little to no issues. Every dogs has his day. I’m also more worried about them than me.
About: I love dogs! I’ve always loved them. When i got my first dog at 8 I was terrified. I would scream and jump on the toilet. She wasn’t even the size of my backpack lol. As the years went on I grew not only a pet but a sister! She was there for me even when i didn’t think i needed her. I want to give your pet the same love I gave to her! Right now i have a mini golden doodle. She is a very special dog lol. She gets on my nerves but i wouldn’t trade her for anything. She’s always doing different things to keep me on my toes. I would make sure that your dog is properly cared for. Whether that is playing fetch with them or taking them for a walk. I live in an apartment that has a huge field. They will get the proper exercise for sure. I love to run with them.
About: Animal lover since birth, caregiver for about 10 years. I love to spend time with animals! I have 2 dogs currently who I love so much. Your pets will be in good hands and I will treat them as if they were my own. Currently: I have open availability. I have a super flexible schedule and can accommodate for last minute changes. Please let me know at least 1 day ahead of time if there are any major changes. I have 2 adorable puppies who I adore with all my heart. We have a fenced in yard big enough for both, and we love to go for daily walks. For my senior dogs, I make him homecooked with kibble meals due to dietary restrictions. Every pet parent knows what works for their pets best, and I hope to uphold that. I believe all animals are special and I hope the care for my own pets can reflect in the care I will provide for your animals. 🫶
“Miriam did the best job taking care of our dog while we were out of town. Miriam did a great job communicating, sending photos, updates, and left our home in fantastic condition. We have a senior dog with some anxiety, and Miriam was very experienced and understanding, which truly can’t express how much that’s appreciated. Would rebook with Miriam any time and suggest you to do the same!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lake Darby walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lake Darby maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lake Darby choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
