About: I have extensive hands-on experience working with dogs of all ages, personalities, and behavioral needs. I studied canine psychology and behavior under certified behaviorists and professional certified trainers in Portland, Maine, with a focus on understanding canine communication, behavior, enrichment, and positive-reinforcement training. I previously owned and operated a pet care business in Portland, Maine, specializing in canine enrichment, individualized socialization, and overnight pet sitting. Much of my work focused on dogs who were not a good fit for traditional boarding facilities or standard pet-sitting environments, including dogs with higher energy levels, behavioral challenges, or unique individual needs. My approach is centered on creating a safe, structured, and comfortable environment while taking the time to understand each dog's individual personality and needs. I believe dogs thrive when their physical, mental, and emotional needs are properly met. It is my full-time job, so my weekly schedule revolves around pet care! I greatly look forward to adding your pet into my regular routine! I care for each pet based on their individual personality, routine, and needs. I take time to understand their normal habits, energy level, comfort level, and any behavioral or medical considerations so they can feel safe and comfortable in my care. I follow the owner's instructions closely and keep their normal routines as consistent as possible. I also prioritize clear communication with owners providing updates so they know how their pet is doing.

About: I’ve taken care of animals my whole life. I grew up on a farm. I know animals need excerise everyday as well as love and attention. If your life right now is a little busy and need someone to help out with your animals routine Ill be more than happy to take the job. Right now I’m not working, I have plenty of time to help out with your pets routine. I’m available 7 days a week, if that changes I will make note of it on this profile. I can do house trips to take your dog for a walk and give some attention. I can stop in few times a day/night if your traveling for work or just vacation. Also if you would like I also go to parks and dog parks if your dog likes to socialize. I have a female beagle mix named Khloe that I adopted 3 years ago. Khloe is very good with dogs and cats, loves to play. I have a 3 year old beagle mix named Khloe. She loves to play with other dogs big or small. If your pet needs to be separated from other dogs incase of surgery’s or they don’t get along well with others I can also do that! I walk my Khloe 3x a day at least 2x a day a half to hour walk each time around my neighborhood. I also go to dog parks and parks to walk!

“Melissa is a wonderful pet sitter! She did drops ins for my two cats. She washed dirty bowls that my cats used after eating. I thought that was so thoughtful of her to do this. She also took pictures of my pets , the pet food she fed them, as well as the cat pen area that she cleaned, everyday. In addition, she came over the day it was supposed to snow, on very short notice, for additional drop in visits. I asked her if she could do drops ins the day before, for this day. And even though it was short notice for this additional booking, she agreed to do the drop ins. I was relieved to not have to travel back home, an hour away, in inclement weather, the next day. I am so grateful for her hard work and for excepting my last minute booking, without much prior notice. Melissa is a reliable , flexible and kind pet sitter! I highly recommend her!”

Handing your dog over to someone new is stressful, for you and for them. I mitigate this by following your specific training cues, household rules, and preferred commands so your hard work never gets undone. When out and about we go to dog friendly spaces - outdoor bars, hikes, or businesses where dogs are welcome, while avoiding spaces over run with others like dog parks or pet smart. As much as I love a good furry friend, I'm taking care of your loved one and take responsibility for their care and wellbeing seriously.

About: Lifelong cat expert and passionate dog sitter! Even though I’ve grown up, watched, and cared for cats since I was born, I have then transferred this experience to the pups around me. Whether in my family or in my close circle of friends, I extend my compassion and care to all animals In the morning when I’m up for work I feed my cats. When I have free time before I leave I play with them, and of course when I come home I give them a warm greeting. They are fed again at night and I make sure to give them all the snuggles, love, and playtime inbetween it all. My cats are STRICTLY indoor cats and do not leave the house. They are trained to run away when the door opens but Luna sometimes gets curious about outside

About: I am a Chef and animal lover. It is my passion to nourish & take care of people, and this certainly extends to our furry friends. I have an English Bulldog named Luca and he is extremely adored. I am very active. I go for 3 mile walks minimum daily, and I would love to bring your dogs along! I also enjoy time at home, where I can be a great companion for them there as well - playing or sharing space. Any of your pets special needs are safe with me, I will care for them as my own! I hope we can spend time together soon! I work at a bakery so I am out of work between 2-3:30 everyday at the latest. I am always off on Sundays and only work 4 days out of the week. I go into work between 6-9 am. I have a small fenced yard outside my apartment building. I am very close to a park I can take them to. I will allow animals on my couch, but of course I will set boundaries if this is not something you want to become a habit. I will give them as much play time and love as they please. I can also respect that some animals just want you to be there for company and I can do that as well.

All animals in my care receive “I love you’s” when I leave, and are talked to throughout the day. I truly treat them like I would my own. If I get the privilege of an overnight sit, you will always come back to a clean home, guaranteed ✨ I work from home, so I’m always available for longer sits as well as shorter visits and walks. About: I have taken Care of dogs since I was a young child, years experience with Large dogs and training. They love to play and need to play! Attention to feeding and making them feel at home or on vacation, they will never want to go home! Home 90 percent of time with Pups at all times, they will be well taken care of by a dog lover. Will be feed on your schedule. I have a fenced yard and gates all over house to keep the fur babies contained in a large area of house, I have cages if necessary. I have two Vizsla dogs that love company.

About: I have experience as a vet tech and a shelter care worker. I have worked with animals for about 10 years and have personal experience for longer. Currently work full time but from home so my schedule is flexible for day walks and visits. Overnight care available as well and can discuss staying to work in the house. I use a fear free and training based approach to care. As a prior vet tech I have medical experience to deal with medically complex pets.

My experience mainly comes from family and friend requests; however, I am very passionate about taking care of pets and do my best to make sure they are happy! I have a rescue dog who I have trained to not chew on shoes, do some tricks, be gentle when grabbing treats, and to wait when getting food. I'm currently enrolled in an in-person summer class which means that on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, I am only available after 1pm. I also work part-time over the weekends so my schedule varies. Despite this my schedule is pretty flexible and I am able to move around work hours to make sure your pets are well taken care of! :) While I do not offer boarding in my own home, I will make sure your pets are well cared for in the comfort of your home. Whether that includes indoor and outdoor playtime, walks, feeding, or extra attention and affection, I will make sure your pets receive the care they need. I have experience with shy and timid dogs and I can administer your pet medicine as needed. While outside I will make sure your pup is going potty as well as keep an eye on them. I would love to take your furry friend outside and play catch or run around depending on your dogs preference.

About: I’ve been around dogs and cats my whole life. I’ve done all the chores that come with them. I’ve had a big dog and a little dog almost my entire life. My big dog is now older, so I have to help him with his arthritis. I’ve had to pick up poop, feed them, walk them, and massage him. I don’t have a job currently, so I’m free for anyone’s convenience! Besides when I have to go to the gym, or when im on vacation. I have a fenced yard and a specific place for them to use the bathroom outside, and also have a pee pee pad inside that I switch out twice a day.
