“Ms. India was very professional. She was able to take care of my cat every other day to make sure everything was fine. She understands any cat’s behaviors. She sent me a picture and notes as a report on every visit. I highly recommend her!”

“gayle is truly such a wonderful person! not only did she help perfectly with my cats (feeding, cleaning litter, etc.) but my apartment had a leak while i was gone, and she was so kind in offering to help in any way she could with that too. i feel confident she would care for anyone, pet or person, to the best of her ability always!! thank you, gayle!”

About: I have worked with cats and dogs from assisting with birth/whelping to end-of-life care. I was raised with cats and dogs, as my parents were breeders. I also worked in an animal shelter for two years, and I am well-versed in caring for kittens, puppies, senior pets, high energy pets, special needs pets, and those who just want a calm environment due to anxiety/stress. I believe every animal has a special place and purpose in life! I am very adaptable and accepting of various furry friends. Thank you for trusting me with yours! I am a stay at home mom with a special needs son, who also LOVES animals. This extra income goes to his piano lessons and family travel. Thanks for sharing your fur babies and trusting me with their care. I have a fenced in yard, and an affinity for games of fetch, long walks, and belly rubs/pets. I can also provide basic fur brushing and treats! I am a very active person, so if your pet is high energy and requires running instead of walking, I’m your girl!
About: I understand the stress of traveling and having worry of who will watch the fur babies. I got ya covered! In house or drops in available. Special diets will be followed and medications can be discussed! My house has a fenced in yard and I do have 2 small dogs myself. Dixi who is 6 years and Chubbs who’s 12. My dogs are my babies and they are spoiled! Your pets will be loved on and taken care of the way you would take care of them. I work from home so my dogs are on a regular feeding and potty schedule. They love to bask in the sun and come inside when they are ready! Daily walks are nightly for them unless weather permits. I will ask questions to help me understand your dogs needs and schedule. Daily updates will be given to ensure the dogs are shown being safe and well taken care of! I ask for specific instructions with commands to not confuse the dog.

About: Hi, I’m Gabby — your pet’s new favorite human. I’ve been a dedicated pet sitter for 11+ years. Most of my experience is with dogs and cats of all ages, from tiny 2mo puppies to sweet seniors who need a gentler pace. Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up with the world’s best white Westy‑Maltese mix named Benji, who loved yard time, pup cups, and long naps. In high school, I also raised four chickens — Peep, Squirt, Hector, and Spooky — who had big personalities and made every day fun. I don’t currently have pets, but I hope to one day have a small farm full of furry and feathered friends. I’m responsible, trustworthy, and genuinely caring. Your pet will be treated like my own — safe, loved, and happy every moment we’re together. Whether it’s walks, playtime, cuddles, or drop‑in visits, I’m here to make their day better. “Can I pet that dog?!” is basically my catchphrase, and I always seem to make new furry friends wherever I go. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out — I’d love to chat and learn more about your pet. I’m currently working part-time, so I’ll have plenty of time to care for and play with your pets. I’m available Monday - Friday for drop ins up to 4x a day and weekends when planned in advance. I can keep your fur babies company in the comfort of their own home with drop in visits and can take your pets on walks in their neighborhood.

“Jennifer was fantastic with our four cats! They were immediately drawn to her, which gave us a lot of peace of mind while we were away. She took great care of them, provided updates, and clearly made sure they were comfortable and well cared for. As an added bonus, she even watered our plants and kept everything looking great. We came home to happy cats and healthy plants. We would absolutely recommend Jennifer in the Nashville area and would gladly book her again!”

About: (Pricing is open for negotiations) I’ve taken care of sick, elderly, diabetic cats, dogs, old and young, big and small. I know how to clean up a mess and how to walk them! Will love on them as well!:) I currently work part time and would love to spend my extra time loving on pets and taking care of their needs! Your pet is safe with me! I will treat your home like it is my home. Respecting house rules and making sure your pet is well cared for. They will be safe with me.
About: I’ve had a couple dogs from when they were puppies to seniors, and I’ve had a cat for the past few years. I used to pet sit for my neighbors, so when I found out about rover I had to sign up! I have a flexible work schedule, I can fit in multiple walks and plenty of time with your pets to get them the care that you want! I live in an apartment with my wife and our pets, Duncan and Suki. Our pets get along great and we give them lots of love/attention. Sometimes they have fun together but I know cats and dogs like to play differently so I’ll give them their own specialized playtimes. I treat everyone’s pets like my own because I love animals and I know how I’d want someone to treat my pets when they’re watching them.
About: I grew up on a farm, so animals have been in my life as long as I can remember. Pets are my passion and caring for them is my purpose. I’m currently based in Nashville and will be relocating to the Owensboro/Utica area in December. I’ll have availability for pet-care services in October and November, with more flexibility once I’m back in Kentucky. My home is located on approximately 50 acres in the beautiful countryside of Utica, offering pets plenty of space to explore, play, and enjoy the outdoors in a peaceful setting. I’m committed to providing dependable, attentive, and loving care while treating every pet as an individual. As I establish myself in the area, I’m excited to build lasting relationships with local pet parents and grow my pet-care services into a full-time business. My goal is for every pet in my care to feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely at home. 🐾 I have a 2 year old, black pitbull mix, so his care is already at the center of all that I do. I live in an apartment, so frequent walks are vital to keep him exercised and entertained. We do have a small dog park in the complex. I love taking Lakota to Ellington Ag. Center because it backs right up to the complex and has great walking trails. His best friend’s name is Alfie who lives in the neighborhood and I take him a few days a week to my apartment and the little dog park here to play with Lakota. We also enjoy going to the Pitts Park dog park or Edwin Warner.
“Amazing, I’m a new cat owner and she gave me so many tips made me less stressed about this new journey, I can tell my girl Kali enjoyed her time with her, very sweet and caring!”

About: I am a professional horticulturist with an agriculture degree. so my passion for plants and animals is life! Personally, i have two cats (a sphinx and a long hair—Tiki and Puff) and a 100 pound Pyrenees mix named Tela). I have relocated to Nashville to work at the zoo where I learned more about animals every day and I could not be happier! 😁 As a Zoo employee, I work full-time on weekdays Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 3:30 PM. I am available before or after these times on weekdays or full-time on the weekends. I am a young woman without children and have pets of my own, so my schedule on the weekend is very flexible to take care of your lovely animals (or plants!). After working alongside my veterinarian older sister, I believe I’m experienced enough to safely care for your pet. I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes and walks of life (older dogs are my absolute favorite, they are so sweet!) I am also the owner of two cats that require special care due to their breed and age, and it is so worth it. I have a lot of experience sitting for various different animals, and I am a trained horticulturist and professional agriculturist so if you entrust me to take care of your plants and animals you will not be disappointed.

About: My husband and I have our own sweet cat that I have had since she was 3 weeks old, she’s now 8 years old and our sweet dog who is a little over a year. I’ve been an animal lover forever! Puppies to older dogs, kittens to older cats, I love them all the same. I have dog/cat sit for many years. I truly enjoy being around animals and treat each one like my own. I am always careful and prioritize safety with any animal. My favorite is to drop in and spend time with the fluffies or take them on walks! I’m a nurse so I work 3 days a week, which vary. I’m available for spontaneous drop-in’s or walks all throughout the day! A set weekly schedule is more difficult for me since I work different days each week. I care for my pets at home like my actual children! I take my dog on walks every morning and usually snuggle up on the couch with the dog and cat at night!
“I didn't have to worry about a thing with Lisa taking care of our cats. Lisa stopped by for drop in visits every day. She was on time, communicative and successfully got our one cat to take his meds. I would highly recommend Lisa for pet sitting!”

“Courtney was amazing watching my two cats! She was on time, provided me updates after each visit, and stayed the whole time which was really important to me because I hate leaving my cats alone! Thank you so much!”

About: I have had dogs and cats all of my life and my dogs have all lived very long and healthy lives. I’ve adopted them and taken in strays, including one that was pregnant and then had 8 very healthy puppies which we cared for, weaned and found permanent homes for. Several of my dogs have lived very long senior lives (21!) and I can give medications and special diets. I’ve also transported many dogs, large and small, to the vet. I take my dogs to the dog parks on a regular basis and have taken them on long trips too. I am available to dog walk and also watch them in fenced-in yards for potty breaks and play. I produced several “Pet Care" series for HGTV, DIY Network and TNN, including dog care segments with Dr. Craig Prior, owner of Murphy Road Animal Hospital and a very popular and well-known Nashville veterinarian, who was also my personal vet for many years. I’m retired so I’m available all days and times. And I love taking photos and videos of pets and would be able to share updates for clients. I am currently retired and am available all days and times. I do volunteering on a regular basis but can adjust that schedule as needed. I also do freelance Marketing and Development including grant writing for nonprofits, on my own time schedule. I have a fenced-in back hyard for my own dogs but also take them on walks and to the dog park. So I would be able to walk dogs as needed. I also know about safety in a home, including keeping food, liquids, cleaners and materials away from pets. My own Beagle can get ninto things easily so I always put things up. My dogs do not use crates but I know how to crate dogs too.
About: I have been around pets all of my life, dogs and cats alike. I have also had my own pets that I’ve taken care of. I have 3 years of experience privately sitting for friends and acquaintances. I strive to follow the pets routine and respect all boundaries your pat may have. I am available after before 8 am and after 6pm on weekdays and most weekends I am available all day. I do not board in my own home as. I have cats who like their space. When I am taking care of pets I always make sure they have a clean environment including food and water bowls. I speak softly and kindly to pet and show them the attention they need or give them space when they need it due to nerves.
Cat parents share their Rover experiences - La Vergne
My husband and I went on a 2 week trip, leaving behind our 4 cats to be cared for by Rachel. I’m a little bit high maintenance and left a long list of chores for her to take care of and she did it all! She took care of each kitty’s individual needs, kept me updated the entire time, and let me enjoy my vacation with complete peace of mind. I love having her as my sitter while we’re away. Thank you as always Rachel, you’re the best!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
