We were so stressed about leaving our cats with a stranger, but she made the process so unbelievably easy, on top of the fact we have a diabetic cat and she went above and beyond ensuring nothing went wrong. So responsive to messages, sends noted and pictures daily and clearly made sure the litter didnt get out of hand -- absolutely no gross smells or messed by the time we came home. We will be looking for her on our next trip, especially considering how fast our cats took to her and how relaxed they were during the trip and when we came home. About: I have always loved taking care of animals since I was young- from dogs, cats, chickens, and fish I have always been surrounded by animals. I have a particular interest in animal behavior and training- I always want to ensure animals feel safe, comfortable, and relaxed when they are in my care. Before moving to Boston, I attended Colorado State University seeking my degree in veterinary medicine- the classes I attended focused on animal behavior, animal environment, and specifically handling large animals such as cattle. During my time there, I acquired my IACUC training for animal handling (can provide if needed, however it technically expired last year) and successfully performed medication administration, vaccine/medication injections, bovine castration, proper animal handling, and more. Unfortunately due to a family emergency I could not finish my degree, however I am looking to complete my animal training certification, as I still love working with animals! While I, myself, do not currently have any pets, my roommate has a cat that I help care for- his name is Boog and he's incredibly cute! I currently work part time Saturday-Monday mornings- after 3pm I am completely free! If your pets can be left alone for about 8-9 hours (travel time depending), I can house sit on these days while working. The rest of the week, I spend time on my hobbies and doing research on animal behavior, meaning I will have plenty of time for walks, playtime, cuddles, and whatever else your pet may desire. I like to set up a trial run before any official appointment just to make sure your animal is comfortable with me and vice versa! This gives a great time where your animal has a familiar person (you!) to reassure them that I (a stranger) am no threat, as well as going over care instructions, any medical concerns, and your typical routine for your pet(s).
“Coral was an amazing pet sitter for our anxious kitty. It can be difficult to find a sitter that our cat is comfortable with. During the meet and greet, our cat was already rubbing up against her legs and wanting to smell her! During drop-in visits, she made sure to take lots of pictures and send detailed notes, which I really appreciated. Coral also cleaned up the house a bit (took trash out, started dishwasher, etc.) before she left, which was such a thoughtful touch. We (and our kitty) would hire her again in a heartbeat. “WOW. Where do I even start?? I was literally scared to leave my cat alone with a stranger because when I travel I usually leave him with my ex and her family would take care of him because they are familiar with his routine. Bob is 11 years old and has diabetes, and although he is extremely micromanaged with his insulin and on a raw diet, he is in amazing health. The thought of leaving him with someone who didn’t understand his needs and could risk messing up his health is frightening to me. Morgan came by and explained that she has given meds before, but not insulin shots, but her extreme love of animals made her focus on all the minutiae of what I was telling her in reference to how to care for Bob. I have her a chart on how much insulin to give based on the blood glucose readings she would take on EACH VISIT. She paid attention, learned how to read the tester, how to withdraw the insulin via syringe, and how to administer it accordingly. I have two webcams set up in my home and I was able to watch how Bob interacted with her during the visits, and he warmed up to her VERY quickly, which does not usually happen because Bob and I live with each other and no one else, so visitors tend to make him skittish and hide under the bed for hours at a time. He would actually wait at the door for Morgan on the 3rd day of a 4 day visit session, which was wonderful for me to see. I cannot recommend Morgan enough. I have already spoken to her about becoming my permanent go-to as my sitter when I have to go out of town. It’s a very good feeling to have someone that’s the same person for all the visits as that makes Bob feel great as well! Thank you, Morgan!!”
