“Ashley is always so courteous and patient with me and my time. She took great care of Tokyo and she’s very responsive to what I need. I came home and my dog looked like he was well taken care of while I was away. Thank you Ashley. I will be booking more experiences with her. 🥰”

“Jessica took such good care of our little family. I have a senior dog she took exceptional care of. She sent updates daily and we returned to happy pets and a safe, clean house. It’s so nice to have someone as detailed and caring as Jessica to look after our pets. I highly recommend her for your pet sitting needs.”

“Cannot tell you how happy we were with Sherry! Her communication, picture history of the babies and overall performance were better than a 10, I would highly suggest her services. We will be going away again soon and be asking for her services again. Thank you, Sherry for taking such care of all our babies.”

“Morgan did a fantastic job with our 2 dogs. She kept them at our home for a whole week. She stayed in communication with us, and provided good care and great judgement. She left everything in good order.”

“Savannah is an absolute gem! She recently took care of our 3 pups and our home while we spent a week at the beach, and she went above and beyond! She made sure we were updated on how the pups were doing and actively looked for ways to help us around our home to make our return so much easier. Our pups were so happy when we came home, we could tell they received so much TLC. Highly recommend!”

About: I love animals but can’t have pets in my apartment so would appreciate sharing that love with your pet! I have been caring for a variety of pets since 2019, mostly dogs & cats (and the occasional bird!). I have experience with dogs of all sizes (from chihuahuas to Great Danes) and most ages. I have less experience with puppies but lots of experience with senior dogs. I have experience with high energy dogs that need multiple walks a day and dogs that struggle with mobility. I have experience with dogs who require medication. I have experience with cats of all temperaments. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out. I have a fairly flexible schedule so am available during the day most days and on weekends. I have been regularly caring for my parents’ elderly Great Dane (11 years old now) since 2020. I am looking forward to spending more time caring for pets. I care for pets in their home environment according to the standards set by the owners. I am very conscious of varying family rules on things such as furniture and am happy to adhere to those expectations. I prefer to stick to whatever schedule the pet(s) are used to (regular walk times, regular feeding times, etc).
“Marquesha was a great house sitter. She was punctual and dependable. She took care of two dogs and cats. She followed all of our directions and left our house in top shape!”

“Shannon was great! I need someone in a very short amount of time and she was able to make it happen. Easy to get in touch with communication is outstanding. Our 2 goldens were loved on so much and very well taken care of while we were gone. Will definitely ask her to watch them again!!”

About: Patient, firm but gentle dog handler and groomer. I have over 15 years of experience working with dogs including working as a dog groomer. I feel consistency is the best method to keeping dogs balanced so I will work closely with you to create a routine that is best for your fur baby. My approach as a handler is through repetition/consistency/patience. I primarily work from home, I do work part time a few days a week outside of the home. I aim to keep the same feeding and potty schedule the pet currently has to lessen anxiety and behavioral issues. If I’m not able to do so, I will not book the boarding. I give fur babies time and space to acclimate to the new environment. For safety no food, totes or treats are provided, except from pet parent. All fur babies are in collar & leash for bathroom breaks/walks. I board two fur babies maximum and small/medium sized fur babies only.
About: I've loved dogs all my life from my first, as a child, to my current, Niko. Niko and I have been together for 11 years. He is the second dog to my first, Chance. Chance was with me for 15.5 beautiful years before he passed in 2023. I have experience with puppies and senior dogs and I'm so ready to love on your babies. I've been encouraged for years to do something like this and now is the time to do it. I hope I get to meet your little family. I'm currently changing direction in my career. I've worked in retail for over 20 years and I am no longer interested in being in a store setting. While I transition, I would love to dive into this passion of mine. I will have open availability while in this transition. I follow the directions of the pet owner if I'm in their home and if no specific direction is given, I treat the pet as my own. I have cared for pets in my home as well and if no specific direction is given, I follow the routine of my own pet.
About: I have cared for dogs, cats, fish, and birds since I was a child. I've been told that animals really feel safe with me. I currently care for my 8-year-old cat at home and have been a dog sitter many times while families are away. I have also administered medication to cats, calmed anxious animals, and cared for high-energy pets. I love playtime with toys to get the zoomies out! I try my best to maintain the schedule and care of the pet owner to keep the animals in a familiar state. It would be my pleasure to help you with your next pet sit. I work from home and have flexibility in my schedule for feeding, walking, playing, and general care of your pet. I keep your furr-baby happy, fed, clean, and entertained while you are away. I can also send photos and check-in on their care. I do not board in my home because I have a sensitive cat. I can consider overnight stays at your home, if necessary. I always treat pets with the love and care they deserve.
“Joanna was great with our dog. Our dog is not friendly and barks at everyone, in no time Joanna was patting him and they were like best friends. We will definitely have her watch our dog again.”

“Lindsay was an absolute delight! She was incredibly attentive and caring with our kitten. She made sure he got plenty of playtime and attention while we were away, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. We really appreciated how thoughtful and communicative she was and would definitely recommend Lindsay to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!”

About: I grew up with a chocolate lab and took in two cats in high school. I’ve primarily had cats as pets recently (and have become a master at giving cats pills). I’ve dog sat and cat sat for several friends. I always have a great time watching their home while spending time with their fur babies. I work fully remote for my 9-5 as well so any home with good wifi I can be there the whole working day. I have good experience giving cats pills and liquid medicine. I work remotely so I can work from any home with good wifi. So if your pet gets lonely I can keep them company all day long. For things that require a routine or specific timing, such as medicine, I set alarms and calendar reminders. I love getting a clear list of expectations from the pet owner of how to treat their specific pet. Every pet is unique and I want to make sure I’m caring for your pet in the way best for them! I’ve watched cats that needed three pills in the morning and one at night. I’ve watched dogs with special dietary restrictions where I had to tear up boiled chicken for them. I’ve also watched kitties that just want cuddles all day long and dogs who want to play fetch all day long. I always try to accommodate best I can!
About: I’m a reliable, attentive, and compassionate sitter who genuinely enjoys caring for animals. I’ve spent years helping friends and relatives with their pets, and that experience has taught me how important consistency, patience, and communication are. I’m comfortable following feeding schedules, giving plenty of attention, and making sure pets feel safe, loved, and cared for while their owners are away. I take pride in being dependable and treating every pet with the same care and respect I would want for my own. I currently have a flexible schedule that allows me to give pets plenty of attention, care, and playtime. I’m available for boarding and sitting on weekends, and I also have availability during select weekdays and afternoons. I do my best to keep routines consistent, including feeding, walks, potty breaks, and check-ins, so your pet feels comfortable and cared for while you’re away. I have a fenced-in backyard that gives dogs a secure outdoor space for playtime, potty breaks, and fresh air while staying safely contained. I make sure all outdoor time is supervised, and I always pay close attention to each dog’s comfort, energy level, and routine. My goal is to provide a safe, calm, and caring environment where pets can feel comfortable and well looked after.

“I can’t thank Anna enough for taking such incredible care of my dog. While I was away, Wanda got into a bag of chocolate, and Anna acted immediately, rushing Wanda to the emergency vet and keeping me updated every step of the way. Anna’s quick thinking truly saved Wanda’s life. Knowing Wanda was in such caring and capable hands gave me so much peace of mind. I’ll always be grateful for Anna’s compassion, and genuine love for animals. Wanda and I are incredibly lucky to have found Anna!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Klondike walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Klondike maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Klondike choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Klondike. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
