About: Hi, I'm Marissa! I'm one of those people who, before I came out of my shell, spent more time with animals than people. Sometimes I still do. I've had dogs and cats all my life, and also rode horses starting just before I was 4. I have 7 years of experience on Rover and another 2 independently dog walking and sitting before that. I’ve cared for many kinds of dogs and cats, fish, turtles, donkeys, a family of racoons, and more. And I have a lot of experience caring for older animals and animals with medical conditions. I also used to volunteer with my mom transporting rescue dogs with Echo Dog White German Shepherd rescue. I am a homebody for the most part, so once I'm there I'm probably not going anywhere. My capital W Work is writing - I'm 13 years into an elven magic realism epic screenplay/novel series, it is my passion project and pet/housesitting gives me the time to tend to that vision, and fur babies to keep me company! Walking and playing with them keeps me active and in my beloved nature. It is a great joy to give people peace of mind while they travel, knowing their home and furbabies are in good hands. I know how stressful it can be - I was born in the Northeast and then moved to Nashville when I was 12 so my mom and I would drive up there to visit family, but we would often bring our dog and cats with us on that 13 hr ride because we didn’t have anyone we trusted to watch them. It’s a great time, unless it’s a family emergency. Now, I get to be that person for other people! My clients relaxing, knowing that they can have fun or do what needs doing and that their fur babies are taken care of at home - that is priceless and never gets old. If you have 3 or more pets, I'm happy to give a discount. I know how hard it can be trying to find care for them when you have many. Feel free to reach out! Pets are family. I will make sure they receive the best care possible! I'm a night owl myself when I'm home but whatever their routine is, I will stick to that as much as I can. For dogs, walks are included in housesitting if you want that. And any plant and garden care etc. Totally depends on your and your pet's needs. I'm so excited to look after your fur baby!
“We had an emergency situation a messaged Austin. He dropped everything Christmas Day and went to our house to feed, water and check on our fur babies. He sent updates and pictures every day and was incredibly kind and helpful. I recommend Austin with the highest rating.”

“Abby is a dog whisperer! She’s a kind human who was super easy to coordinate with. She followed all my instructions and my dogs were very comfortable with her. I’ll definitely use her services again!”

“Brianne came to visit our cat ahead of time and asked thorough questions to be prepared to watch her! Our cat was a little rude to her but she let us know and sent pictures too. Will book her again!”

“Jenna is really good and experienced dog sitter, Rocky our pet dog loved her company and care, she made sure rocky is comfortable and ensured he got all the care needed while we were away. Thanks to her experienced care and service”

“Mabry is awesome! She helped me out at the last minute and was able to help me with only two days notice, she is always available and dependable and takes such great care of my cats! Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life. I have been taking care of dogs and cats since I was about 15, either house sitting, walking, or drop ins. I have experience with all animal behaviors and am comfortable with most. I am available any time; I don’t have a traditional job anymore. Monday through Friday and select weekends depending on the need of the pet! I am not able to watch pets in my home, but in yours. I am mostly available to do drop ins; long or short. I am happy to give them enrichment whether it be fetch or wand toys!
About: I have extensive experience caring for a variety of pets, including dogs, cats, bunnies, hamsters, small birds, fish, and even horses, while living in the peaceful English countryside. I’m patient and understanding with puppies, offering them both the attention they crave and the space they need. I also have experience with basic puppy training and love taking dogs on long walks. Every pet is unique, and I’m dedicated to providing a caring, personalized approach to ensure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable. I have currently began a new full-time job which is not remote so am taking a breather as I adjust my calendar. Whether it’s going for walks, playing fetch, or just hanging out, I’m ready to give your four-legged friend all the attention they deserve. I’m available for pet sitting or check-ins, and I love making sure your pet is happy and well cared for. I’m generally free after 11 a.m. Monday through Saturday—because even pets need their beauty sleep, right? If you need a more flexible schedule for pet sitting, I’m happy to work with you to accommodate your pet’s needs! While I don’t currently offer pet care in my own home, I’d be more than happy to come to you! Whether it’s snuggles on the couch, walks around the neighborhood, or playtime in the yard, your furry friend will feel right at home. I take safety and trust seriously, and I’ll always treat your pet like part of the family. After all, they deserve the best, and I’m here to make sure they get it!
“Blaise booked on short notice when my plans fell through for my dogs. I really liked getting pics with a report about what each did on their walk. Great, friendly and reliable!”

“Madison is such lovely person and wonderful person! She has excellent rapport with our kitties, sends great updates with feedback, is attentive to details, and very caring of our property. Her helpfulness enabled us to take a weeklong anniversary trip knowing our two kitties would have a loving person to ease their separation anxiety and help them follow their prescribed diet. Madison sent better pictures and video then I have ever been able to take of them. The kitties think all visitors should play like Madison does. We will definitely be requesting Madison again!”

About: I have taken care of animals most of my life i am new the Rover community but I do have kennel technician experience and dog bather experience along with drop by visits. I do have to walk or be driven by my mother since I don't have a license and or car because I have epilepsy and hydrocephalus. Despite my disabilities I am a very hard worker and always make sure the fur babies are safe and taken care of. I do have four dogs and a cat also. I have been around all sorts of dogs and or cats along with other animals so I don't scare easily and I am very patient with them. If you are willing to take a chance on me I will not let you down I wake up and take care of my five dogs as soon as I get up. Two of them take meds and I give it to them if my grandma doesn't do it for her two Goldens I let them outside feed them give them water give them their medicine and make sure they are taken care of. If something is wrong with one of them I will find it

About: I have always loved taking care of animals! I have a dog named penny and she is 14 years old. I always make sure that she is comfortable and in a non stressful environment so that she can be her happy little self! I am currently working 5.5-6 hour shifts at another job. I will definable be available before 9 am and after 10 pm. My other job releases the schedule 2 weeks in advance so I will most likely know my schedule before! With my dog, I always make sure that she is comfortable and has fresh water and has been fed. Then I spend some time with her to make sure she is getting needed attention.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Kingfield. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
