“Dawn was the best! Sent comprehensive notes at every visit and updated us with photos. We have a senior cat that we didn’t want to uproot from home, Dawn visited him 2x/day and spent time with him to make sure he was okay. We are so lucky to have found her!”

About: I have dogs all my life, and adore animals. I am truly happier around animals, and keeping them company and safe while having fun as well. I am available on the weekends to take care of your pup and make sure they have the best time while their parents have a mini vacay. I have a big fenced yard where your pup is able to run around freely, and a cute little cute friendly Yorkie to keep your pup company.
“Leigh is an amazing pet sitter! She sent daily reports with photos of my fur babies. One of my kitty’s is a little shy but Leigh got her to come out from hiding which means a lot! Highly recommend trusting Leigh with your fur babies !”

“Lisa is first and foremost an amazing friendly and professional pet sitter! When my cats and I met her to go over instructions during our meet and greet, I knew my cats were going to be in great and caring hands. Lisa took an interest in my cats likes and dislikes, took notes on the particularity of their feeding and routines, and asked pertinent questions to better understand their needs. The visit updates and photos were great and made me feel at ease being away from them, and I came home to happy cats that were well cared for and would not hesitate to ask Lisa to watch over them again!”

“Alley was great! My little girl is very shy, but Alley took the time to try to make her comfortable while she was here. Her visit updates and photos were also really nice.”

Throughout the day I let her out in my yard as needed and take her for 3 walks a day. I make sure that she has water all day and feed her twice a daily. “Punctual, communicative, sent lots of pictures and my animals seemed to like her. I felt comfortable with Nicolette in my home while I was away and with entrusting my animals to her care.”

About: I've been an animal lover my whole life and treat every pet as if they were my own. I had the time of my life with my sweet girl, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge last year. She filled my life with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories, and caring for her was one of the greatest privileges of my life. As a special education teacher, I'm patient, dependable, and attentive to each pet's unique personality and needs. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, or relaxing with company, I'll make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you're away. I'll follow their routine closely and keep you updated with plenty of photos and messages so you can have peace of mind knowing they're in caring hands. 🐾❤️ Pet care fits very well into my routine, especially since I’m currently off for the summer. This gives me a very flexible schedule and plenty of availability throughout the day for walks, drop-ins, and quality time with pets. During the school year, I have a structured schedule as a special education teacher, which still allows me to be available in the mornings, afternoons, evenings, and on weekends. I’m organized and reliable, and I make sure each pet gets consistent care, attention, and time without feeling rushed. I care for every pet like they’re my own and always focus on making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. In a client’s home, I stick closely to your pet’s normal routine so they feel secure in their familiar environment. I pay close attention to details like feeding instructions, walks, medications, and any special needs. Safety is always my top priority, I make sure doors are secure, pets are properly leashed outside, and they’re never left unattended during visits. I also treat your home with respect and care, leaving everything clean and just as I found it. My goal is to build trust through reliability, communication, and genuine love for animals so you can feel completely at ease while you’re away. 🐾
“Mike did a great job while we were away. More than living up to our expectations, he made visits to our home twice a day right on schedule while keeping us up to speed in real time through video and pictures. Our dog is typically not too friendly with strangers under any circumstances, but Mike proved differently and our dog wound up showing genuine affinity with its caretaker. We highly recommend him and wouldn't hesitate to use him again in the future.”

“Rachel was great stopping in and taking care of our dog. She played with her and ran her around while we were out for the day. Babka loved playing with her and it gave us peace of mind for her well being. We will definitely be using Rachel in the future.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was young. I have grown up with dogs, always been around dogs and overall just love dogs! I also love walks so the combination is perfect in my mind! I now have my own puppy as well who gets along with any and all dogs! I am looking to do walks for dogs! I have a full time job plus work some weekends, so when I can I would love to take a pup on a walk! I am super respectful of others homes. I have dog sat many times, even over night for 2 weeks. I am very careful with everything I do.

“Iwona dropped by to feed our baby while we were out of town for several days and was prompt each day with her reports. She also came by for a pre-visit to get our key and meet the kitty :)”

About: I am a college student and have experience with little and big dogs. I have been a pet owner for a majority of my life. I have watched dogs for my friends, family members, and neighbors, while they are away for a short period or extended time periods . I have assisted owners with potty training and continue with the same commands and rules of their home with their fur baby. I am very trust worthy and responsible. I love all dogs and have the knowledge to take care of your babies while you are away. I have 2 fur babies of my own at home so I spend a lot of time in my daily life with them. All of my friends, family, and neighbors have dogs so I am constantly around or taking care of them. I have a fenced in yard and two pups of my own. I also have a crate easily accessible if need be. I have lots of doggy toys. I prefer not to have other dogs at my house since I do have a puppy and another very old dog. Alex is wonderful. My cats warmed up to her very quickly. I have never had anyone come in my house before so I was skeptical. But Alex calmed all my fears. She was so lovable and patient with my boys. So happy I took a chance with her. She’s a gem and I would totally recommend her to anyone..

Bethany was amazing. She was excellent at communication, and sending plenty of photos while we were away. If she had questions, she always asked and clarified. We agreed to have her boyfriend assist on some days- and our dogs seemed to love him just as much as they loved her! Not everyone can handle a Great Dane and German Shepherd as well as she did :) 100% rebooking with her, and recommending her to family/friends in the area!

Steve is an absolute lifesaver and truly the BEST of the best! As someone living out of state, when a family emergency struck and left our beloved feline companion in need of urgent care during a major holiday week, I was in a complete panic. But then Steve came to the rescue, responding with lightning speed and professionalism that immediately put my mind at ease. He didn't just provide "excellent care"; Steve went above and beyond in every possible way. He understood the anxiety of being far away and proactively sent detailed updates, including photos and videos, which were an incredible source of comfort. Beyond the immediate needs, Steve meticulously identified and communicated a list of necessary supplies, ensuring our furry family member had everything required to remain healthy and safe. Steve's dedication, quick thinking, and genuine compassion transformed a stressful, difficult situation into one filled with immense relief and gratitude. I cannot recommend him highly enough – he's not just a cat sitter, he's a guardian angel for pets and their worried owners!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
