About: Animals have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember, and caring for them is something I genuinely love. I’ve spent years caring for my own dog, who experiences seizures, and my senior cat, whom I lovingly cared for through his final years. These experiences taught me the importance of patience, attentiveness, and understanding that every pet has their own needs and personality. My passion for animals has also led me to pursue extensive academic and hands-on experience. I studied veterinary medicine throughout high school, completed an intensive summer program at Cornell’s College of Veterinary Medicine, earned a biology degree, and most recently interned rehabilitating New Jersey wildlife. I’m comfortable reading body language, recognizing concerning symptoms, administering medications, and providing canine and feline first aid and CPR. I’m detail-oriented and attentive to each pet’s needs, while also loving to play with energetic pets and keep them happy, engaged, and exercised! I keep feeding and bathroom breaks consistent with their usual routine to help them feel comfortable and settled. We’ll typically go for a walk after lunch, with additional activity based on your pet’s needs. Playtime is tailored to their temperament and mood; whether they’re energetic and ready to play, or prefer some quiet cuddles and downtime. My goal is to keep their routine familiar, comfortable, and fun while they’re away from home. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have an unfenced yard, so all outdoor time is kept safely on leash. Pets are supervised closely throughout their stay, and I’m happy to use their crate if one is provided and it’s part of their normal routine. I also have a portable pet gate that can be used to safely section off the kitchen or stairs when needed. I want every pet to feel comfortable, secure, and cared for while giving owners peace of mind that their pets are in a safe and attentive environment.
About: I have had 3 family dogs throughout my life, I personally take care of reptiles and amphibians, and I genuinely love to care for animals! I personally own a bearded dragon named Ember and in the past, I have briefly homed poorly cared for lizards and found them new homes. My family currently has a pit bull terrier mix, named Nyla. She is the absolute light of my life and she truly made me realize how happy caring for animals made me. “Samantha was Fabulous!! It was like having a Family member be at our home and watch the dogs. She arrived promptly, and the dogs took to her instantly, so did I! We have two large older dogs, and my daughter's 4 year old, diabetic dog were at our house so we could go out to dinner. With her background in emergency care, she clearly understood giving insulin. Our usually aloof male Lab, planted himself on the couch to be next to her, a doggie thumbs up! Throughout the evening, she sent pictures, and kept us abreast of what they were doing, and where they settled in. It was nice to be able to go out with the whole family and not be worried about what they dogs were up to, or if their needs were being met. We have already booked her for our larger Group outing for the Holidays...Samantha is a gem!”
