“I cannot recommend Vickie and Heath enough! Wonderful! From the moment we began communicating to picking up my dog Maui, Vickie was wonderful and warm-hearted! Maui is an 8 month-old Labrador, so he needs a lot of attention still… And, I felt such peace of mind leaving him for the day with Vickie and Heath. I received video updates and could see he was having so much fun! I’m so glad I found Vickie and Heath and look forward to when Maui can go back and have more fun!”

“First time ever leaving our puppy with a sitter and we felt so comfortable with Vanessa. She sent pics and videos and our Maximus had a great time. Definitely recommend and will be using her again very soon. Thank you Vanessa!”

“Tom's place is awesome!! I work at the nearby military instillation and I was using Tom's daycare services. He was open to a meet and greet the day before I was supposed to drop off my pet which was from 7am-5pm, and he met Ollie and then showed us around a bit which made me feel much better knowing my dog was going to be kept in such clean and organized conditions. You can clearly tell how well Tom takes care of his own dogs. Everyday I used his service I could tell my dog had a great time and got to experience what walking in a pack was like. He came home exhausted each day and Tom sent great pictures and videos which made me feel better. As Tom states in his bio, if your dog is crate trained, good with other dogs and has a daily routine this is the place for you! Your dogs will love their experience at Tom's Place!”

About: Lifelong animal lover with hands-on experience caring for pets of all sizes and personalities. I grew up with a Labrador who was part of my family for 16 wonderful years, which taught me patience, responsibility, and genuine love for animals from an early age. I work full-time during the week, but I work from home two days a week and am fully available on weekends, which allows me to dedicate quality time and care to pets staying with me. Even when I am not home, my husband is home, so there is always someone present to supervise, keep company, and care for your pets. This means your furry family members will never feel alone and will always receive attention, comfort, and care throughout the day. Whether your pet loves playtime, cuddles, walks, or simply a calm and safe environment, I adapt to their needs and routine to make them feel comfortable and happy while you’re away. “Davina is great with my Jack! He goes to her house 3 days a week while I'm at work. He gets so excited when we show up and he runs straight to the door. She is very transparent with his care and she makes sure all his needs are met. Even providing him with a coat when he didn't want to go out in the rain 🥰 I highly recommend Davina for your pet care!”

“Absolutely amazing care for my Baby Belle! Thanks so much for taking good care of her and treating her like a member of the family. Love the video of Belle at play- thank you!”

About: We own two large dogs- an Australian cattle dog/Anatolian shepherd/Hound mix, and a yellow Labrador retriever. They are very high energy and unique with lively personalities. We love to take them on bicycle rides/walks through the woods and neighborhood. We both have experience with dogs- John dog-sat as a child and has had family dogs as well, and I grew up on a farm with 10-15 inside/outside dogs all my life as well as many other animals. We have a big back yard that is fenced in, we also live next to a big state park that is loads of fun for any animal! Our entire family and our friends also have dogs, so when we all get together we usually have about 12-14 dogs all together at once running around playing and having fun! We would love to be able to help others who own dogs and have a busy schedule live life while knowing their beloved pet is well taken care of!
About: I have been around dogs and cats my whole life. Up until recently, I have raised 2 dogs for the past 15 years and cats prior to/during part of that time. I am a stay-at-home mom with 2 young adults away at college so I have flexibility to visit homes with dogs or cats throughout the day. My innate ability to connect with animals has inspired me to seek out work where I may spend more time caring for them. I understand the care and concern pet owners have for their pets, especially when they are not able to be home for them. My experience being the primary caregiver for my own pets has nurtured my love for animals and provided me with knowledge of basic training techniques. It is my goal to provide peace of mind that I will care for your pet the same as I would for my own furry loved one. I look forward to visiting with new furry friends! I am currently home all days of the week except midday Tuesdays. Therefore, I have flexibility to visit pets throughout the day on most days. I am currently living in a neighborhood with ample space for walks. In addition, I have reliable transportation for visits to clients’ homes as necessary.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
