“Hope was so wonderful with our cat, Mazey! We came home to a happy cat and a well taken care of environment. Her pictures and daily updates were the best, absolutely recommend her services!”

“Rhianna took great care of our very shy, skittish cat. He usually hides when new people enter the apartment. She was able to find him each day and even sent me pictures! I’m happy with the care she gave our cat, Toast!”

“Michele was an amazing asset. She did such a fabulous job taking care of my two cats, that they appeared to be disappointed it was me when I came home. Clearly, they were well taken care of in my absence.”

“Carissa went above and beyond for our two dogs, and I fully trusted her in our home. I already have her rebooked! She left detailed check in notes and sent lots of great pictures. Knowing she was checking in on them made me feel very at ease while traveling.”
“Midori was wonderful to our 2 cats. I was really nervous about leaving them for a few days, especially since one of our cats is very shy and easily scared. Midori sent pictures with every visit and managed to get a picture of my shy baby in his safe spot under the bed each time she was there. That eased my mind knowing he was ok. My other cat is more outgoing and Midori sent pictures of him playing with his favorite toy and waiting for her by the door. We will definitely book with her again.”

“Alesscia took such great care of my babies and sent so many wonderful pictures. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the care, updates, photos, and love shown to Drifter and Moscow.”

About: Hello! My name is Tricia and I am a huge animal lover! I have cat and a dog who are very friendly and also love all animals. They enjoy having a dog around to play with and snuggle with! I work from home and am here with my 3 animals typically all day long which allows me to have time to take care of additional animals whether or not that’s here at my home or checking in at your home. I have a home with a fenced in yard. I live near many neighborhoods and the Colonial Parkway, both great for walking dogs as we love to do often. My work from home during the week is very light and I have full control of my schedule. I am able to go on walks often and play outside with my dog and any others in our fenced in yard often. I care for anyone’s animals as my own! My animals are the most important thing to me. Their safety and happiness is my top priority!
About: I have experience rescuing cats and dogs and administering medication. I’ve also done house sitting and pet sitting for several homes. I enjoy running and playing with dogs to keep them active and happy, and I can also help them stay calm when needed. I offer walks up to 1 hour and can safely handle up to 3 dogs at a time. I’m comfortable cleaning up after pets, changing diapers if needed, and giving medication. I work Mondays and Wednesday–Friday from 7 to 3, and Saturdays from 3 to 11pm. I’m free all day on Tuesdays and Sundays 😊 I adapt to each home and follow the owner’s preferences and routine for their pets. I make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for, whether that includes walks, playtime, feeding, medication, or keeping their space clean. I always adjust to each pet’s personality and needs.
“Hannah is very reliable and gave me great daily updates with photos. She also looked out for the security of the house and went the extra mile. I would definitely recommend Hannah’s services!”

About: As a Vet student, I will be able to give the best possible care to your fur baby! Whether its giving medications or providing stimulating activities, I can do them all! I’m currently just a vet student who spends lots of time at home studying! I can watch your fur baby right after class with the knowledge of professional care fresh from my brain! I live in an apartment that contains a dog, a cat, and three birds! The yard lacks a fence but with supervision and on leash, pups would still have fun while taking potty breaks.
About: I've had both cats and dogs of all ages and really love spending time with animals. As someone who has frequently had walkers for my own dog I understand how important it is to know your pet is being watched by someone who can give them ample exercise and show them lots of love when owners are away. I'd love to be the one to give it to them! I'm good with dogs of any level of energy and size and love to play! I'm a hiker and would be happy to take your pet along with me if they need extra exercise! I have an energetic 7 year old pup who gets along with every dog he meets! I can't wait to get to take care of you pet!
“Nicole was a blessing in a pinch. We needed last minute care and reached out to her. She was very responsive and replied back in a timely manner. She took such great care of our Tava. She meds sure her emotional and physical needs were met. We received so many photos when updates were sent. Each time our Tava looked happy and stimulated. We will definitely be using her services again if she is available.”

About: I have cared for and owned dogs, along with many other animal/reptile friends for many years. Being involved in 4-H and FFA I have raised a variety of animals. I have two fur kids, Apollo and Astraea, ages 4 and 5 years old who love to eat, play, go hiking and nap. A crested gecko and huge freshwater aquarium call my place home as well. I can make sure your friend gets some extra attention, exercise, and even work on any training or new tricks they are learning. I moved to the area recently and began working from home allowing me some extra time to do this again :). Hope to hear from you soon! Working from home allows a pretty flexible schedule. Just need a days notice to ensure I could stop by if a specific time is needed! I am happy and comfortable assisting your friend based on whatever guidrlines you give! Just let me know what kind of care your friens needs!
About: I’ve take care of pets since I was 12 years old. I currently own 2 German Shepherds, a golden retriever, a Australian Shepherd/husky mix and 3 chinchillas. I’ve kept puppies all the way to senior dogs, cats even cared for horses before. Currently I work full time but would be available to stay overnight and check in mid day. My schedule is typically M-F 7am to 6pm with a two hour break from 12-2. At this time I only offer in your home sitting. I will walk your babies for as long as needed or let them in the yard if it is fenced and play with them. I can crate if needed while I’m gone. Rest assured your babies will be spoiled to bits by the time you come home (:
“Aneesa was so accommodating from the start! My pups were happy and so well taken care of. She provided lots of communication and pictures while she was here for her visits over our two days. This was also our first time using a dog sitter for our pups as we’ve never left them before. I felt very reassured and happy knowing that my dogs were happy and well loved. I would highly recommend Aneesa again and will utilize her in the future for our dogs.”

About: Thanks for considering me to help care for your pet. I have been house and dog sitting since I was in high school and throughout college, mostly working with private individuals but have also been employed by private living communities for my services. I can handle larger breads and have a certificate for animal first aide and response. I am a former lifeguard and absolute animal lover. Please help me start to grow my contacts and my business. I can guarantee a job done right. Personally I work in the arts and live with 2 great pups. They both love walking through Colonial Williamsburg' Merchant Square. I believe that daily socialization makes a world of difference in there lives. I will work with you to ensure you receive the service you need. Message me your request and we can Schedule the perfect time for you. My boys are leash trained and use the bathroom on walks. I have worked with animals that need open room to roam and with ones who treat their crates as their homes. I am there for their comfort and safety.
About: After I graduated college many years ago, I worked with an animal rescue before entering into a veterinary career. After more than 10 years in general vet, ER vet, and specialty vet -- when we moved back to VA, I decided to switch careers and I've worked from home ever since. I'm comfortable caring for dogs & cats with special needs and complicated medication schedules. I also have experience with exotic pets including guinea pigs, hamsters, bearded dragons, freshwater tanks, and saltwater tanks. I own a bearded dragon and have several fish tanks: 55g fresh, 30 salt, 10 fresh, 3.3 pico salt. I work from home (and have for 10 years). I have two in-home dogs - french bulldogs, one male, one female, both fixed, friendly, and ready to play! I have my own dogs on a pretty steady schedule. They go out around 4-5am (when my partner wakes up), come back to bed, out again at 8am, eat breakfast, another potty break around 10-11 am, out again around 1-2pm, 4-5pm, dinner around 8pm, out again, and one last potty break before bed usually somewhere around 10-11pm. When your dog stays at our home, they'll get regular potty breaks and their usual feeding routine. If they need alone time, we have the space to give them their own space, time in the yard, and time for cuddles by themselves. We have a 4' tall chain link fence around our yard. Our two dogs love to go out often and explore. We have dogs on three sides, so plenty of fun to be had. Non-dog-friendly dogs would not do well in my home at this time. At your home, I'll follow your schedule and details for what your pets are used to. If you have exotic pets or fish tanks, let me know! I offer exotic or fish tank rates, as well. I have a full time job, but it is very flexible and I work from home so I'm able to work with most requests with ease. In my home, I have a fenced in yard and am able to let your fur baby out at least every 2 hours. If I am in your home, during the week I might be working, but thanks to my flex schedule I can work around most anything up to and including walks and playtime every couple hours.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Jamestown. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
