“Anna took time to have fun with Casey while taking care of his needs during the day. She also shared good photos that allowed me to see she was doing the specific things we discussed.”

“Amanda and Scott were amazing with our Shelby girl. They were so patient with her and were so attentive to her needs. They sent me to many photos which of course eased my heart and mind. I highly recommend them and will definitely be asking them again to watch our pup!”

“Rhianna took great care of our very shy, skittish cat. He usually hides when new people enter the apartment. She was able to find him each day and even sent me pictures! I’m happy with the care she gave our cat, Toast!”

“Thank you, Honey, for taking such great care of our animals! We couldn’t have done our trip without you! We rested easy knowing they were in such great hands. You’re the best!”

About: I care about every animal and pay close attention to any extra care they need. Thank you for considering me to help take care of your pets! I currently work full time and go to school full time. I am very good at time management and will always fit pet care into my schedule. I’m very respectful of clients space and know how to approach a dog thoughtfully. I love all animals, no matter if they are reactive or not and know how to respond to any situation.
About: Hi! I’m a longtime pet owner and animal lover who knows how stressful it can be to leave your animals, even for a short time. I offer drop-in visits only and can care for dogs, cats, chickens, and other small animals. I will always do my best to make sure they’re comfortable and cared for while you’re away. I’ve had pets my entire life and have personally cared for my and others’ pets for over 13 years, including dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rats, mice, fish, and chickens, so I’m used to juggling different routines, personalities, and needs. Whether it’s letting a dog out, feeding and checking on chickens, giving a cat some quiet attention, or making sure medications are given correctly, I’m very comfortable handling it. We’ve fostered numerous puppies, dogs, kittens, and cats through local rescues and the PRAS over the years, and between fosters and our own pets, I am also very familiar with post-surgery care and needs. I really believe pets are family, and I treat them that way. I follow instructions closely and make sure each visit includes real attention. My goal is for you to feel at ease knowing your animals are in good hands and for your pets to feel relaxed and cared for until you’re back. Thanks for reading! We work during the day but are home in the afternoons and on weekends. We do have extracurriculars a couple days of the week, but will make sure your pet is cared for if weekdays have been agreed upon. This schedule becomes much more flexible over school breaks! For drop-in visits, I care for pets in their own home where they’re most comfortable and able to stick to their normal routine. I follow your instructions closely for feeding, potty breaks, litter boxes, medications, and any special care your pet needs. Each visit includes real attention, which means playtime, walks or yard time, cuddles, or just some quiet company, depending on your instructions and your pet’s mood/demeanor. I keep an eye on behavior and appetite and will always let you know if something seems off. I also take care of the basics like fresh water, litter boxes, food checks, and making sure everything is secure before I leave.
“Lauren was wonderful! She had really good vibes from the beginning and did a great job with my cats. The cute pictures she took of them and the comments she left each time made my separation from my cats a little easier for me. Definitely recommend!”

“Craig was fantastic! He took lots of pictures and communicated really well, I felt so happy and confident knowing my pets were in great hands. He went above and beyond, I will definitely be asking for Craig’s help next time I’m out of town (-:!”

“went home for the holidays and ashton was amazing at coming in and feeding my cat! very responsive and reliable! i felt like my cat was in perfect hands while i was away <3”

“Katy is amazing! My dog can be quite nervous and hesitant with strangers but after a few trips he started to warm up to her due to her patience and professionalism. Highly recommend!”

“Carissa was amazing while taking care of my cat, Chestnut, for a couple of weeks while I was away. She was incredibly responsible and provided thoughtful updates with lots of great pictures, which made it so much easier to be apart from my little cat. I’d absolutely recommend Carissa to anyone looking for a sitter :)”

“Aneesa was absolutely AMAZING!!! I cannot thank her enough for the hard work my furry children put her through!!! 😅 She chased and wrangled the bunnies around the house who kept finding ways to escape and was extremely patient with my old man pup who was aggressively protective for the first couple of days, and eventually became great friends after a while! I was so stressed about the chaos as I was away but Aneesa kept calm and had everything under control as well as kept coming up with new ideas to keep things under control until the next check in. She’s so sweet she even took my trash bin back from the road and brought in all my packages that arrived at my doorstep. I would 10000000% recommend her for any of your fur baby needs while you’re away!”

“Maryellen took such amazing care of my two cats while I was away — it was a big relief knowing my babies were in good hands. She was reliable, communicative, and clearly love animals. I received daily updates and photos, and the cats looked relaxed and happy. When I got home, everything was clean and just as I left it. It’s hard to find someone you can trust with your pets, but Maryellen is that person. I’ll definitely continue to book with her.”

About: I have taken care of my own dogs, and helped out with others my entire life. Twice in my life we raised a puppy and I helped in training them in tricks and the potty. I also cared for our senior dog who was blind almost solely for 3 years. I love dogs and cats and I just want to help out. I currently work at restaurants on a rotating schedule so my availability fluctuates, but I am always available in the mornings before 11:30am. I would be fully comfortable taking a pet out super early, say 6am, and returning for a later morning session before going to work. I normally get off between 7-9pm, and I would of course return to let them out and play with them after that. My least busy days of the week are Monday, Tuesday, and Friday as those days I don’t normally work the entire day, either 11:30-5 or 4-8. I am super flexible and will accommodate as best I can without my schedule! I love to play with dogs and cats, fetch or tug of war are some of my dogs favorites. But I also love to take dogs on walks, I don’t mind pulling dogs or dogs that run, I can keep up. If a dog needs a little extra attention, and I have the time, I love to pet dogs and cuddle with them. I mostly just want to make the dogs comfortable while their owners are away.
“Tricia was so thorough and took the best pictures and videos of my kitty at each check in <3 She went above and beyond with looking out for him and I felt very comforted while I was away by the knowledge he was in such good hands.”

“Destiny was wonderful in caring for our two cats. She sent photos and a report daily. Our cats seemed very happy when we came home and we are very grateful. We would love to book Destiny again in the future.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Lightfoot
Ashton was awesome. She is very personable and easy to communicate with. We got notes and pictures from her daily. Our one cat hid most of the time, but she found him or monitored food. The other two decided that she is the best thing ever! While we were gone, we had a tree come down at thw top of our very long driveway. Ashton willingly walked in from the top and took care of them. Will absolutely have her back again.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lightfoot. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
