About: I’ve dog sat for family, friends, and clients that resided in Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Virginia. My clients have relied on me to check on, walk, and feed their little family members. I have a little bundle of joy named Mochi. Taking care of him is my favorite thing to do. He makes me realize that I have what it takes to care for pets of all different backgrounds. :) I’m currently working transitioning into a new job and looking to use all my free time to take care of your little family member!❤️🐱🐶 🏡 Trust, Safety & A Comfortable Environment 🐾 Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities! Whether your pet stays in my home or I come to yours, I’ll provide a clean, calm, and caring environment where they can feel comfortable and secure. I’ll follow your instructions closely, respect your home and routines, and make sure your pet receives plenty of attention, supervision, and care. You can have peace of mind knowing your furry family member is in a safe and loving environment while you’re away. ❤️🐶🐱
“Tanti gave my kitties all the love and attention they deserve while we went out of town. She did a fabulous job! Highly recommend Tanti and will certainly have her watch our kitties again the future”

“Sheryl was great with our dog and cat while we were away for the holidays. She was caring, attentive, and followed our instructions for medications to a T. I would definitely recommend to book with her!”

“Avery is the best! We have had Avery as a dogsitter for over a year now and is our go-to dog sitter. We had some work things pop up where we needed to change around the time and visit expectations and she was extremely accommodating. She also knows how to deal with our 3 crazy dogs and they love when she comes over to play with them. 💝”
About: I've worked in animal welfare & shelters since 2015. I have lots of experience working with dogs and cats with various personalities and needs. I personally own 3 dogs and several cats all at various ages. One of my cats is disabled- and I've owned and worked with dogs and cats that have special needs (seziures, CH, deaf, blind), take daily medications, and possess specific breed traits/personalities that can't make them difficult to manage. Currently work remote and have a large amount of flexibility in between travel for work. I can prov8de limited boarding in home- dogs must be able to coexhist with cats, be able to be crated and/or left in a single room unattended, and be respectful of baby gates. I do have a separate space for cats that is easier to manage. Current cats in the home do free roams but there is an entire space devoted to the dogs in the home. Can crate and rotate as needed and care for up to 2 dogs if everyone can get along. In your home I prefer to stick to as close of a routine that you provide them with- from their potty breaks to morning and evening walks. Staying as consistent as possible can help provide a relaxing trip for you and your pet.

“Alyssa took such good care of my cat! She sent cute photos and updates every day and was quick to notify me when he was congested and not feeling well. I would definitely recommend her! I felt at ease knowing she was checking on him.”

“Mary is a terrific sitter and dog walker. She really took care of my bullmastiff and chihuahua. I will use her over and over again when I am leaving town or when I am busy and can’t walk my buddies. If you need a sitter, walker or someone to stop in and let your babies out to play for 30 minutes do not hesitate to contact Mary. She was awesome with my buddies”

About: You can finally relax knowing your pet will be safe, treated like family and given all the love. Hi there! I’m a stay-at-home mom located in the Hilton area of Newport News. I’m active, reliable, and available from early mornings until late afternoon. I’ve cared for everything from a home full of 7 cats and 4 labradoodles (all at once!) to countless pets belonging to friends, family, and friends of friends. I have a 6 year old son with special needs who absolutely adores pets so if you’re looking for boarding, please make sure your pet is child-friendly. During the day however, he’s in school and I will be able to cover those who may not be small child friendly. I don’t mind hopping in the car to take your pup to the park or on a trail if they need more than just a quick lap around the block. I’m a big morning person who thrives on routine but, full disclosure, I avoid rush hour or late-night driving since my son is with me after 3:30 p.m. Monday–Friday. Whether your pet needs a walk, drop-in, or a place to stay while you’re away, I am here to help. Just drop me and line❤️ I’m available Mon-Fri from 5am-5pm for walks, parks, even just a home visit and car ride if your pet just needs some 1:1 during work hours. Weekends are limited so send me a message during the week to check availability. I have a large yard but it is not fenced. My son and I enjoy walking whenever we can around our neighborhood in Hilton. I have a pet and baby proof clean home with a gentle loving child. Cleanliness is of the utmost importance to me so you won’t have to worry about anyone making a mess and it not being cleaned up.
“DeHaven and Ashlee were wonderful with my 3 cats, they were patient and made them feel at ease. I can't reccomend them enough! I usually can't enjoy my vacation because I am so anxious about my pets, but I was able to relax knowing they are in good hands.”

“Abbi was very reliable, easy to communicate, most importantly; she took the time to make sure she understood the dog’s strict time sensitive medication schedule. She also provided lots of pictures and updates for every visit. My dog was very well cared for and loved while we were gone. 100% recommend Abbi!”

“Lauren is great! We had a mixup on the first morning time but she honestly apologized. She came each time requested other than that morning and was awesome with my 3 dogs. My dogs are not the easiest to take care of (I have a 17 year old blind one who wears diapers) but Lauren was a champ and cleaned up messes. I will use her again for my next trip.”

About: I have 3 years of professional experience working in the animal industry and currently work at a veterinary hospital, where I provide hands-on care to a variety of pets every day. My experience has given me a strong understanding of animal behavior, health, safety, and the individual needs of different pets. I’m comfortable caring for dogs and cats of different ages, sizes, breeds, and temperaments, including pets who may require extra patience, medication, or specialized care. Working in a veterinary environment has also taught me how to recognize changes in behavior or health and respond appropriately when a pet may not be feeling their best. When caring for your pets, my priority is to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while maintaining their normal routines as closely as possible. I understand that every pet is different, and I’m happy to follow detailed instructions regarding feeding, walks, medications, exercise, and other specific needs. You can feel confident knowing that your pets are in the care of someone with professional animal-care experience who genuinely enjoys helping animals and treating every pet as if they were my own. Depending on my schedule I work from 7am - 3pm or 8am - 5pm, before or after my regular job I am free to hang out with your fuzzy guy! I care for pets in my clients’ homes by keeping them comfortable, safe, and as close to their normal routine as possible. I follow each pet’s individual care instructions for feeding, walks, playtime, medications, and any special needs. I also make sure they receive plenty of attention, affection, and enrichment while their owners are away. With 3 years of experience in the animal industry and my current work at a veterinary hospital, I’m comfortable caring for pets with a variety of personalities and needs. I pay close attention to changes in behavior, appetite, energy levels, or other signs that something may be wrong, and I communicate with the owner promptly if I have any concerns. I also treat my clients’ homes with the same respect and care I give their pets, keeping things clean and secure and providing updates so owners can have peace of mind while they’re away.
About: I have had dogs and cats in my life since i was a baby! They have always been my bestfriend! I currently have 1 dog (a golden retriever) and 2 cats. And I’ve house sat for many many fiends for long periods of time. In my eyes i don’t see them as just animals but another member to the family. And that’s how i would treat your fur babies! You should feel comfortable leaving your fur babies in the hands of someone else when life becomes busy or you just need to get away. and i promise I will give your babies all the love and attention they deserve! I work weekdays but i get off early almost everyday with very flexible hours and I’m off every weekend. My work schedule is pretty flexible. I have loads of free time! I have a fenced in yards. The cats roam the house as they please but they love to be by my side more than anything! My dog spends so much time outside playing and gets a long walk every day!

“Ginny is amazing! My dog warmed up to her as soon as she stepped in and Ginny made us all feel super comfortable about her care. Would strongly recommend, and we will be using her regular!”
About: Most of my experience was mostly personal with the numerous animals I had when I was growing up. But I also have experience with other friends or families' animals. During that, I have taken care of the dietary needs of pit bulls to Dachsund. I am currently a student meaning I can have more time taking care of your animals as I only will have homework and no job I have gates all around my house to avoid certain rooms to ensure no animals gets in anything. I will also ensure safety on walks
About: I have spent the better part of my life committed to the care of animals, I love them and hope to use my skills and innate passion to be a blessing to someone. I am currently working and going to school online so this provides me with a very flexible schedule with all oddities of availability for you and your pet. I have an extra large fenced in yard, live alone and have an amazing dachshund named, "Koko." He is an old boy and doesn't mind the company. I am a big advocate of cuddles, praise and sticking to training measures in place by an owner. I respect these animals and it really rewards me to see them happy, safe and healthy!
“Chelsea did a wonderful job! She was greeted with a puke mess on the carpet to clean up. So sorry about that! Sienna did well--as much as she does when I'm gone. I'm sure she enjoyed getting out for a walk.”

About: My whole life I’ve grown up wanting to own a pet, and have another member of my family. Ever since I got a german shepherd he has been my best friend in the whole world. Taking care of dogs and cats brings me the most joy in the world. I would love to be able to spend time with your loved one(s)!!!! I am an active duty member of the Coast Guard, but, I am available throughout the week to come and take care and give attention to your cat/dog. Ever since I left home I have been missing my dog so much, and have been eager to continue loving animals in my new home! Knowing all information from the pet owner, I will keep all pets safe and happy, and take care of them as my own. And make sure they have a great time and feel loved.
About: I’ve got years of experience caring for dogs and cats. My favorite thing to do is take dogs (especially my own) out for adventures by taking advantage of this beautiful state we get to call home. I love to give dogs the best time when they’re with me whether that’s going out or staying in and their safety and comfortability is my top priority. I work part time on Thursday and Friday nights until the end of December. I have a very open schedule until the end of April. I do have a dog and two cats, so it would be best to board at the owners home vs my own, but I am ok with either. I am avid about getting quality outdoor time that goes beyond potty breaks. Clear instructions of your pets exact care requirements/expectations are important to me so that I can make sure your pet is getting their needs met.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Alliance. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
