âThank you so much for walking the dogs! Alison walkes and handled our 2 playful dogs and sent us updates! She was also on time and followed the instructions for treats! We will contact her again when we visit Asheville again! ?â

âAbsolutely wonderful walker! I feel so blessed to have found Tina. She may not know it but she is an answer to my prayers! Very friendly and personable. Quick to respond. Very flexible and willing to work around my difficult schedule even on the weekends which is sometimes hard to find. Tina is a very likable person but most importantly my dog likes her too! I was so comfortable with my dog in her care I am using her again this week. Bonus: She took such amazing photos of my sweet boy they looked professional taken.â

About: Iâve cared for animals in a wide range of environments, from farms on the Big Island of Hawaii to horses in Appalachia and North Florida. Over the years, Iâve helped care for dogs, cats, horses, and farm animals, (including caring for more than 30 pets in the Asheville area in one summer alone!) Iâm dependable, grounded, and comfortable working independently. As a mother currently studying social work, I value calm communication, consistency, and creating a safe, relaxed environment for both pets and homes. I understand that every animal has different needs, personalities, and comfort levels, and I aim to provide attentive, trustworthy care that helps pets feel secure while their owners are away. Iâm also happy to include plant watering and basic plant care during visits when needed. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because Iâm local to the Lake Junaluska and Waynesville area and have a flexible schedule, especially during the summer while school is out. Iâm able to dedicate consistent time and attention to walks, drop-ins, feeding routines, and companionship throughout the day. Because I live nearby, commuting is easy for me, which helps me stay reliable and responsive for clients. I enjoy creating calm, steady environments for animals and genuinely value the trust involved in caring for someoneâs pets and home. I currently provide care in clientsâ homes so pets can remain comfortable in the environment they already know and trust. I understand how important consistency, routine, and familiarity are for animals while their owners are away. I aim to maintain a calm, clean, and dependable environment by carefully following feeding schedules, exercise routines, medication instructions, and household preferences. Iâm respectful of clientsâ homes, communicative throughout each stay, and attentive to both pet safety and home security. My goal is always to help pets feel relaxed, cared for, and emotionally at ease while giving owners peace of mind that their home and animals are in responsible hands!
About: I am a teacher in Asheville looking to hang out with some lovely animals in my free time. Growing up I have always had animals but primarily dogs so I have a strong background in dog behaviors and needs. My fiancĂŠ, Ellen, is also available to support during the week days that wouldnât be optimal for me to leave during my teaching days. This gives a lot more availability! She has always grown up with cats and dogs and would love to help support to give them the best care. Often we both come for meet and greets/visits to ensure we give the best care đ I look forward to care for your animal in anyway I can. Please let me know of any questions as I hope to be flexible with any needs. During the week I am gone roughly 8am-4pm but will be home during the weekend times. During the summer months I am available throughout the day times. My fiancĂŠ is a nurse and works 3 days out of the week. The schedule is flexible but sporadic. I love to get out for long walks and get as much movement as possible. If thatâs for your animal Iâd love to get them out! If not I am cautious about the animals typical areas and what works best for them.

About: Not only have I owned dogs my entire life, I have cared for my family's and friends' animals for as long as I can remember. I'm the go-to person when someone goes away! People trust me to take care of their animals like they were my own children. There is nothing more joyful than hanging out with a pet, and I look forward to spoiling your babies as well! About me: My husband and I moved to Waynesville in 2021 from the tri-state area; yes, I'm a Jersey Girl! Bob will probably join me on walks and drop-ins, so you'll get two sitters for the price of one! We have two rescue dogs - Beukeboom, who is a Cavachon, and Cassidy, who is a crazy zoomie dog! I have a flexible schedule, so whatever time you need assistance, I can be there for you. I know what it's like to need help with pups! I treat your dogs the same way I treat mine, which is like my own children. I have to hire sitters for my own dogs, so I know what it means to be able to trust someone.
About: Hi! Weâre an animal-loving family with room to roam and a whole lot of heart. We share our home with three wonderful dogs (a Pointer, a German Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix, and an Australian Shepherd) all 7 years and older, plus our cat, Potato. Weâre very comfortable managing different personalities, energy levels, and species under one roof. Our dogs are mature, well-socialized, and help create a calm, balanced pack environment. We live on 2 acres with a securely fenced quarter-acre for safe, supervised outdoor play. Thereâs plenty of space for sniffing, structured exercise, and relaxing in the fresh air. My wife and I are almost always home, so your pet will receive consistent supervision, attention, and affection. We also have a sweet baby, Cooper, who is growing up learning to gently and respectfully love animals. Our home is calm, structured, and family-oriented. In addition to boarding, we also offer drop-in visits for pets who are happiest staying in their own home. Whether your pet needs potty breaks, feeding, walks, medication, or just some companionship and playtime, weâre happy to help. Iâm currently a stay at home parent so my schedule is wide open for both days and nights to take on boarding or do visits to other homes. My home has a large fenced area where our three dogs can roam and exercise. I am very reliable and respectful when it comes to entering othersâ homes while taking care of their pets.

About: As a dedicated dog walker and pet sitter, I bring a genuine passion for animals and a commitment to providing the highest level of care for your furry family members. What sets me apart is my attentive, personalized approachâeach dog is unique, and I tailor my services to meet their individual needs, whether itâs a high-energy pup that needs plenty of exercise or a senior dog that requires a gentle pace. With a strong focus on communication, I ensure you're always updated on your pet's activities and well-being. My priority is to create a safe, fun, and enriching experience for your pet while giving you peace of mind. I believe in reliability, punctuality, and a calm, confident demeanor that animals respond well to, helping even the most timid pets feel comfortable and secure. As a stay-at-home dad, I spend my days with my 4-year-old, which gives me a flexible schedule to care for your pets. We enjoy outdoor activities, so dog walking fits perfectly into our routine. I have plenty of time to give your dog the attention and exercise they need throughout the day. It's important that any dog I care for is comfortable around children, as my little one will often be part of our walks and playtime. Your pet will be in a loving, active environment where theyâre treated like family. In both my home and my clients' homes, I prioritize a routine that keeps pets happy, healthy, and well-cared for. I ensure pets are fed regularly, with my puppy receiving three meals a day. Iâm diligent about providing frequent potty breaks, especially after naps, meals, and playtimes. I engage pets in stimulating exercise that is both fun and beneficial, like retrieving and tug of war, which my puppy loves. I also create a safe and comfortable space for them to rest, such as a crate for my puppy. Throughout the day, I incorporate short obedience training sessions to reinforce good behavior and keep their minds active.

About: I have a passion for animals. I worked in a pet store for over year, enjoying being able to help pet owners find what their pets need. Itâs rewarding to be able to help pet parents and pets get relief. Animals are giving and loving and I enjoy them so much. I have nine guinea pigs myself (which wonât effect my availability:)) and they are the absolute light of my life. Your pets will get so much love and care with me as your sitter. I love all animals, and I am comfortable with most dog sizes. I grew up with small dogs, rodents, and lizards. I understand that dogs need time outside for relieving themselves as well as exercise and fresh air. Every other kind of pet is also just as amazing, and Iâd love to love and care for them too! I will be spending all the time I have with your pet. I wake up early to take care of them and I come home immediately after work to spend the evening with your pet. My job starts early, so I will have most of the afternoon and all evening to spend with them. I spend as much time as possible with your pet. I work full time, but make it a priority to be consistent so your pet knows what to expect from me and feels safe.
About: My love for animals started at an early age and then progressed when I volunteered at animal shelters! Furthering that passion I then decided to join the animal hospital of Waynesvilleâs team to continue my education in becoming a vet tech! I am fear free certified and use that special approach/technique when pet sitting. I work full time so my schedule varies weekly, but weekends I have the most availability! I am pretty flexible and local to the Waynesville area. I prefer not to keep any pets in my home due to my own critters. They are nervous beings so to limit their stress I will only offer services in your home!
About: I have taken care of dogs my whole life. I am a trustworthy retired RN who is looking to spoil your dogs while you are away. I am available most days with proper notice. I do not have a fenced yard but do have a 7-year-old dog named Dori who gets her exercise walking daily. If you pup likes fenced in yards caring for your dog would be better at your home.

- 94% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
