“This was such a great experience and Teeny seemed to have such a great time staying over with another small dog— all the photos prove it! Teeny was very well cared for and we even got a little memento as a parting gift! I couldn’t be any more thankful; I’d book again in a heartbeat, if only I had another trip planned. No issues with feeding, medication, keeping in contact, anything. I imagine Teeny felt right at home.”

About: Ive been a dog lover my whole life and I have been looking after family/ neighbourhood pets in my spare time over the past 5 years which I love doing. I work from home two times a week and I am off on the weekend which is when I’d be mainly available to dog sit. I have a fenced garden out the back of my house which is attached to the kitchen/living room that they would be able to roam around and play.

“We could not have asked for a better experience with Marisa. I was ridiculously nervous and anxious leaving little Burger with someone for the first time, but from the moment we dropped him off I felt completely reassured. Marisa was so good with Burger, she sent us lots of photos and updates over the weekend and it was clear from every picture that Burger was comfortable, happy and being so well cared for. You can tell Marisa adores dogs and really cares. When we collected Burger he was totally happy and settled there which meant the world. We are beyond grateful to Marisa for taking such good care of him and would 100% be happy to leave Burger with Marisa again, can't recommend her highly enough <3”

“Stephanie has been so flexible, accommodating, communicative, attentive and caring. She made arranging the meet up, drop off and pick ups super easy for me, she asked questions to ensure she could provide the best care for Cookie prior to the booking, and provided a lot of updates during Cookie’s stay. Plus, she showered Cookie with cuddles and treats! I’d definitely leave Cookie with her again. ☺️”

About: I’d be a great dog sitter as I absolutely love dogs! I previously had a Labrador, so I’m comfortable caring for dogs and understand how much love and attention they need. I’d be very happy to have some furry company and would treat your dog like my own. 🐾❤️ I work 9–5 and work from home on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, so I’ll have plenty of time and flexibility to care for your dog. I have a lovely open space at home where they can feel comfortable, relax and have plenty of room to move around. I’d love to give them lots of attention, cuddles and company while you’re away! 🐶❤️ I provide a calm, safe and loving environment for pets, treating them as if they were my own. I follow their usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding, walks, playtime, cuddles and plenty of attention. I’m also happy to follow any specific instructions from the owner regarding their pet’s needs, habits or routine. Since I work from home three days a week, I can provide plenty of company and supervision throughout the day.

About: Hi, I’m Kai! I’ve been a small dog parent for 14 years, so I know firsthand how much trust it takes to hand over the leash to someone else. Watching my own dog grow into a senior has taught me to pay attention to the little things such as mealtime routines and gentle, slow-paced walks. My home is a quiet, comfortable space where small dogs and cats can stick to their usual routines without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. You’ll get clear updates and plenty of photos while you're away, and I’ll treat your pet with the same patience and attention I give my own. I work from home 9 - 5 during weekdays with a flexible schedule so rest assured your pets will have constant companionships! I’d love to chat and see if we’re a good fit so feel free to send a message! Working from home Monday through Friday gives me a super flexible daily routine. Since I’m home throughout the day, guest pets get constant companionship and aren't left unsupervised. I can easily step away from my desk for mid-day walks, potty breaks, feeding times, or a quick belly rub, making sure your pet stays relaxed and on their normal home schedule while you're away. My home is a cozy, secure flat designed specifically to be a safe haven for small pets. Because the space is small and quiet, guest dogs and cats can relax without the noise or stress of a massive, busy household. For potty breaks and stretch sessions, we have immediate access to a courtyard just downstairs, making frequent trips outside quick and easy. Working from home allows me to keep a constant eye on everyone, ensure doors and windows remain secure, and create separate, calm spaces if a cat or small dog needs quiet solo time to adjust.

Victoria asked a bunch of questions when we met to make sure Eva’s routine was kept as it was and she was sending updates and pictures everyday. We were really able to enjoy our trip knowing that Eva was with them and with their sweet dog Freddie that is now Eva’s good friend. 🐶🤎🐶”

About: 🐾Having my own dog changed the way I understand love and companionship. They’re there for the ordinary days, the difficult days and the happiest ones ,always waiting at the door, asking for nothing more than to be close to us. That’s why I know leaving your dog with someone else isn’t always easy. When your dog stays with me, I want you to know they won’t simply be fed and walked. They’ll be noticed, comforted, spoken to, played with and loved. I’ll care for them the way I hope someone would care for my own dog when I’m away — because to you, they’re not ‘just a dog’, and they won’t be to me either.💌 I’m already used to having dogs as part of my everyday routine, so walks, feeding, playtime and lots of company come naturally to me. I genuinely enjoy having a dog around and making them feel at home. I keep things as close to their normal routine as possible — their usual walks, feeding times, playtime and little habits that make them comfortable. Whether they’re staying with me or I’m caring for them in their own home, I make sure they feel safe, relaxed and get plenty of attention and affection.

About: I used to have a small dog back home in Malaysia, and during the MCO period I spent most of my time studying from home with my little pup always by my side. Between study sessions, I’d play with him, feed him, take care of him and basically spend the whole day together. That experience made me really comfortable around dogs and taught me how much attention, patience and company they need. I genuinely enjoy being around dogs and would love to give your pup the same care and affection I gave mine. My girlfriend and I work full-time, but we’re only in the office three days a week (alternately), so whenever I’m away, my girlfriend will be at home and vice versa. On my work-from-home days, I’m around throughout the day and have plenty of time to give your dog attention, playtime, walks and company. I also have more flexibility in the evenings and on weekends. I’ll always treat your pet and your home with the same care and respect I’d want for my own. I’m happy to follow your dog’s usual routine, including feeding times, walks and any specific instructions. Most importantly, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable and get plenty of attention while you’re away.

“Gabrielle is absolutely amazing. From our first message here, to meeting our dogs, to them staying, to picking them up - she was nothing but the best. Our two twin brothers were so happy in her care. I can't recommend her enough, and if you're at all feeling anxious about leaving a pet for the first time, don't be with her - it will be the best first experience you could have. Loved getting updates and photos of how the boys were doing, and you could tell she was having as much fun as they were. Thank you Gabrielle!!!”

About: 🐾 Who I Am Hi! I'm a Harsha a petless dog lover who simply loves spending time with dogs. While I don't have a dog of my own, caring for them genuinely brings me so much happiness. Since I don't have any pets, your dog gets my full attention without having to share the space with other animals. I only accept one booking at a time, so your dog will always be my priority. 💻 I Work From Home One of the biggest benefits of staying with me is that I work from home, which means your dog won't be left alone for long periods. They'll have someone around for: 🐶 Company throughout the day 💛 Plenty of cuddles and attention 🚶 Regular toilet breaks and walks 👀 Constant supervision 🎾 Playtime whenever they feel like it 🏡 What Your Dog Will Experience I want every dog to feel like they're staying in a second home. At my home your dog is welcome to: 🛋️ Relax on the sofa 🛏️ Snuggle on the bed if that's what they're used to 🐾 Explore the apartment freely 😴 Nap wherever they feel most comfortable If your dog prefers having their own little space, I'm more than happy to create a cosy area with their bed and blankets too. I always keep a fresh water bowl available, and I'll happily follow your dog's normal feeding schedule and daily routine so everything feels as familiar as possible. 🌿 My Home I live in a clean, cosy apartment that's perfect for dogs who enjoy a calm environment. The apartment includes: ☀️ A spacious balcony where dogs can safely relax and enjoy the fresh air under supervision. 🚪 I can keep the balcony door open so they can wander in and out whenever they like while I'm with them. 🌳 A beautiful large park only 1 minute away, perfect for enjoyable walks, sniffing adventures, exercise, and playtime. 🤝 Meet & Greet Before or After every booking, I'd love to arrange a meet and greet. This gives us the chance to: • Meet each other properly • Let your dog become familiar with me • Show you around my apartment • Learn about your dog's routine, personality, likes, dislikes, and any special requirements I want you to leave feeling completely confident that your furry family member is in safe and caring hands. I'll make sure to send you regular photos and updates throughout their stay. You'll be able to see what they're up to, how they're settling in, and have peace of mind knowing they're happy, safe, and getting lots of love and attention :) I work from home on a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide plenty of attention, supervision and companionship throughout the day. Your dog will never be left alone for long periods and will always have someone around to keep them company. My routine is flexible enough to follow your dog's usual schedule, whether that's regular walks, playtime, meal times or simply relaxing and having a cosy nap. I only accept one booking at a time (or dogs from the same household), so I can give each dog the individual care and attention they deserve. I'm available on weekdays. Your dog's safety, happiness and comfort will always be my top priority. I understand how important it is to leave your pet with someone you can trust, so I'll do everything I can to make them feel at home from the moment they arrive. Before every booking, I'd love to learn about your dog's routine, personality, likes and dislikes, feeding schedule, exercise needs, and any medical or behavioural requirements. This helps me provide care that's tailored to your dog and keeps their day as familiar and stress-free as possible. My home is clean, calm and smoke-free, providing a relaxed environment for dogs who enjoy a quieter setting. I only care for one dog (or dogs from the same family) at a time, so your pet won't have to share my attention with lots of unfamiliar dogs. I'll provide fresh water at all times, follow your feeding instructions carefully, make sure your dog gets plenty of toilet breaks, exercise and affection, and I'll happily send regular photo and video updates so you can see how they're getting on throughout the day. If I ever have any concerns about your dog's wellbeing, I'll contact you immediately so we can decide on the best course of action together.

“I was initially worried about leaving my dog behind, as he had only been with a minder a few times before. However, from the moment we met Xia and his lovely family during our first walk, we felt a connection. Our Malinois immediately bonded with Bella, Xia’s adorable bulldog, which put my mind at ease. Thanks to Xia, we were able to enjoy a wonderful visit with our extended family for Christmas. Throughout our time away, we received regular updates, including videos and pictures of our furry friend, showcasing just how much fun he was having with Xia and his family. It was clear that our dog was in great hands! I highly recommend Xia as a dog minder. He is a true dog lover, and I wouldn’t hesitate to leave my dog with him again in the future. Thank you, Xia, for providing such a caring and enjoyable experience!”

FAQs for Dog Boarding - Wicklow

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost of Dog Boarding in Wicklow is €29 per night as of November 2026. Most bookings cost between €29 and €46 per night.

On Rover, sitters set their own rates based on factors such as their experience, the length of care, the number of pets and your pet’s specific needs. As long as your booking dates and pet profiles are accurate, the pri ce s hown before you confirm is the total, including any booking fee.

As of November 2026, there are 400 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across the city of Wicklow. About 89% typically respond to requests within 60 minutes.

Enter your address and booking dates to see which sitters are available near you. You can also message multiple sitters to improve your chances of finding the right care.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up to date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in Wicklow ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis (Adenovirus), and Leptospirosis.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Some boarding sitters stay with the dogs in their care for most of the day, while others may step out for work, errands or other commitments. Each sitter’s schedule and the amount of time your dog may be left alone will vary, so it is important to agree expectations before the stay begins.

Before booking, tell the sitter how long your dog can comfortably be left alone and confirm their typical schedule during the stay. Adding the maximum number of hours your dog can be left alone to their profile can also help sitters decide whether they are the right match.

Boarding does not automatically include round-the-clock supervision. If your dog needs someone present at all times, ask whether the sitter offers constant care or 24/7 care. This may require a separate arrangement and may not be included in the sitter’s standard boarding rate.

Every sitter must complete an identity verification process before listing their services on Rover. This process checks that the sitter’s identity matches their provided documents.

Identity verification doesn't assess a sitter’s experience or suitability for your pet. To see if a sitter is the right fit, you can review each sitter's profile for ratings, verified reviews, repeat pet owner information and care style. We also recommend arranging a Meet & Greet to discuss your pet’s needs and make sure the sitter is the right fit before booking.

For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three- or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-in visits, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12.00 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our booking protection will kick in. This means you'll get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who've never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover, but you're welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you've previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you're booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you'll have a chance to go through your pet's routine, medical needs and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. A Meet & Greet is a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
