About: I have grown up with dogs my whole life. I have taken care of them as a puppy all the way to caring for them as senior dogs. I miss having a dog in the house and I would love to pet sit for anyone. I currently work full time but my hours are flexible. I am available every weekend and some days during the week. Your pet will get plenty of rubs and walks. I have a fenced garden in my house. I don’t have any dogs in my home at the minute but it is pet friendly. I live beside the Curragh so your pet will be walked every day!

About: Growing up, I’ve always had family dogs. We’ve had multiple breeds throughout the years. I’ve minded family and friends dogs too, feeding and walking them. It’s the first time in my life without my own dog, so looking to care for and cuddle dogs without the commitment! I am a registered nurse. I work three days a week, Monday to Sunday. I also work nights. My schedule can be flexible as I can have multiple days off in a row. I live in a stand alone house. It is not fenced in, however when outside I can always keep a lead on your dog. I can easily crate your dog if needed. I do have a cat, her name is Sid. She is both an indoor and outdoor cat. She can easily stay outside through your dogs stay if that makes you comfortable. She is used to dogs and usually doesn’t pay them any attention.
“Pablo was fantastic. Also, his place is perfect for any dog. Really communicative and a pleasure to deal with. He sent regular updates with pictures and our dog seemed to have had an absolute ball with Pablo. Cannot recommend and praise more! Thank you so much and we will see you soon. I think Otis is probably missing you. ”

About: I’ve been taken care of my friends dog for a long time and got my first dog 3 years ago. I adore dogs and can’t imagine myself without them around anymore. ❤️ I’m currently working remotely so I can mind the dog 24/7! Lots of playtime and love I have 7 years of experience minding small dogs We have a nice fenced garden and we walk our dog Pandora (Maltese) twice daily. So it’s a safe place for your little one 🐶

“Ciara was absolutely phenomenal with my Bichon, Fluffy. She can be very nervous and shy around new people and she fit right in. All through the week I got picture and video updates of Fluffy and didn't think she'd want to come home she was so spoiled! Cannot thank Ciara enough for her phenomenal care. Like many people I'm so nervous leaving my dog with other people and while being away but I'd really recommend Ciara to anybody and everybody. Not a bother on Fluffy and my mind was at complete ease 🥰”

“Daniel and his lovely family made our dogs first stay away from home, both easy for her and easy for us. We had lots of update pics and video clips so we knew how happy and cared for she was. She had a wonderful time. We could not have asked for anything more. Would recommend Daniel highly as a carer and would love to book again”

“Winnie was absolutely super and our dogs loved being with her. They were so well looked after and we never worried about them while we were away. Everyday she sent us updates and images. I would highly recommend her and we will definitely use her again. Thanks so much for taking. Really great care of Simba and Belle.”
“Teddy had such an amazing time with Sheetal and Ankit! He was looked after so well and he loved playing with their golden retriever😊 They treated Teddy like their own dog and I would 100% recommend Sheetal and Ankit to mind other dogs! Teddy can’t wait to go back😀”

“Kiera and her family did such a wonderful job looking after my dog. It was easy to feel relaxed knowing she was in such a safe place with plenty of entertainment from their own dog Charlie too. Would really recommend.”
“Elena was wonderful! From the first meet and greet to picking up my pup. She looked after our dog over Christmas and made it very special for our pup and we didn't worry once! Communication was great and loved the photos and updates!”
“We found Jean Phillipe last minute and we are so lucky we did. Ollie loved his time there and we were comforted to know he was so well looked after and he was somewhere he could feel at home. Thank you again!”

About: I especially enjoy caring for small, friendly female dogs, as I have a little Chihuahua girl of my own at home and would love for her to have a gentle companion to play with. 🐾💕 Pet care fits well into my routine, and I’m available all week until 3pm, with full-day availability on Tuesdays,Wednesdays and Thursdays. I’m home-based and can give dogs plenty of attention, care, playtime and company throughout the day. I provide a safe, calm and loving home environment where pets can feel comfortable and cared for. I always supervise dogs, keep their food and routine consistent, and make sure they rest and relax. I’m also very mindful of doors, gates and anything they could get into, especially with small dogs. Most importantly, I treat every pet with the same care and attention I give my own Chihuahua.
“Renata was so lovely and took great care of Leo this weekend! It was such a comfort knowing he was being well looked after while we were away. We really appreciate her taking care of him and would love for her to look after Leo again. Thanks so much, Renata! ❤️🐾”

“Shauna looked after our “first born”, Pippa!! It was Pippa’s first time staying with a stranger - Shauna made Pippa feel right at home and even allowed her stay in her bed 💙 which she loves. Pippa is a highly energetic Collie; Shauna was great to bring her for her walks. ”
“Harini was fantastic with Duncan. They had a lovely time together and I received several daily updates finding out that he was doing well. I am very happy to have her minding him any time.”

“Leza has a lovely warm caring personality. Straight away Jessie took to her. She sent updates and pictures. I was completely at peace knowing she was being well looked after. I would highly recommend her . Already have her booked. Highly recommend her.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for Dog Boarding in Crookstown on Rover is {{median_grand_total_num.as_currency}} per night (as of {{date}}). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of Dog Boarding easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Dog Boarding.
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialise in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your Eircode to find a sitter within walking distance in your neighbourhood.
Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up to date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in Kildare ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis (Adenovirus), and Leptospirosis.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Some boarding sitters stay with the dogs in their care for most of the day, while others may step out for work, errands or other commitments. Each sitter’s schedule and the amount of time your dog may be left alone will vary, so it is important to agree expectations before the stay begins.
Before booking, tell the sitter how long your dog can comfortably be left alone and confirm their typical schedule during the stay. Adding the maximum number of hours your dog can be left alone to their profile can also help sitters decide whether they are the right match.
Boarding does not automatically include round-the-clock supervision. If your dog needs someone present at all times, ask whether the sitter offers constant care or 24/7 care. This may require a separate arrangement and may not be included in the sitter’s standard boarding rate.
Every sitter must complete an identity verification process before listing their services on Rover. This process checks that the sitter’s identity matches their provided documents.
Identity verification doesn't assess a sitter’s experience or suitability for your pet. To see if a sitter is the right fit, you can review each sitter's profile for ratings, verified reviews, repeat pet owner information and care style. We also recommend arranging a Meet & Greet to discuss your pet’s needs and make sure the sitter is the right fit before booking.
For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three- or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-in visits, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12.00 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our booking protection will kick in. This means you'll get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who've never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover, but you're welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you've previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you're booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you'll have a chance to go through your pet's routine, medical needs and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. A Meet & Greet is a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
