“Michelle is simply just lovely. Prompt (early actually). Caring. Very sweet w our pets and attentive to our endless direction with our special needs dog as well as our cats. All of our animals are rescues from abusive situations so we are protective. She got that immediately without having to say a word.”

“Courtney was amazing with our cats. She went above and beyond while taking care of them and made sure our older cat got her medicine. She was also a great communicator and was able to help us out on very short notice. I would definitely recommend her!”

“i made a mistake and forgot to leave the key to my house - Taylor problem solved and did all she could to figure it out with me - she also picked up treats for manuel 10/10”

About: I have had a dog in my family from the moment I was born. They truly are family and I believe a house doesn’t feel like a home without a pet. I have been a stay at home mom since 2019 spending most of my time at home caring for my 3 daughters, 2 dogs and my girls cat. We have a recently built new home and a large partial of land in the country perfect for outdoor playing and walks. If your fur baby stays with me I promise that they will be cared for like family themselves. I am home most of the day so they won’t be alone long, cuddles are definitely welcomed and I will respect all rules that you have for your pet! I am looking forward to my home becoming your furbabies beloved vacation spot. If you would like to set up a play date for your pet to meet me and my pets before booking that is welcome but not mandatory..whatever makes you feel more comfortable. Any questions before their stay or check ins during their stay are always welcome as well! 😊 I stay at home with my 3 year old daughter and drive my 4 & 5 year old to school every day. Other than that your pet will not be left alone for long. I spend most of my time at home so they will have plenty of attention and love! My pets are like my children before having children. They are allowed to snuggle on the couch and in bed. When I leave the house they are crate trained. I will respect your wishes and listen to what suits your pets lifestyle best. I have plenty of room at my house for your pets own crate or dog bed. Whatever will make them feel most at home I will do!
“Excellent communication and very thorough during first meeting - even remembered to ask about medications (good thing since I neglected to mention it). Happy cat & guinea pig upon our return. Will definitely book again!”

“We are so happy that we were able to connect with Miranda to walk and sit with our dogs. Miranda is very conscious of each dogs needs and their routines. She was excellent in walking/sitting with our senior dog. We definitely will be booking Miranda again!!”

“Ellen took wonderful care of our cat Seven while my husband and I were out of town for several days. She sent detailed updates daily with photos, made sure to give Seven lots of playtime with his favorite toys, and kept our home in spotless condition as well. I highly recommend her if you're looking for a responsible, communicative sitter who loves cats!”

“Nicole is wonderful. Once again she exceeded our expectations and took great care of our fur babies. And when we had to return early, she handled all of the modifications and was supremely understanding. We ❤️her - all three of our fur babies and the two adults!”

“Katherine is truly exceptional. She cared for our senior pets — a 14-year-old dog and a 10-year-old cat — with such empathy, patience, and attentiveness. From the moment we met her, her calm demeanor and genuine care for animals put us completely at ease. She arrived on time, followed our pets’ routines to a T, and went above and beyond to ensure they felt comfortable while we were away. When our dog wasn’t feeling well one evening, she even canceled her own dinner plans to stay and monitor him — a gesture that spoke volumes about her sense of responsibility and compassion. Katherine was very attentive to both our pets, and it was clear that their well-being was her top priority. She kept our home spotless and maintained clear, thoughtful communication throughout our trip - a tremendous help in reassuring us. Her care for living beings goes far beyond “just a job.” We feel so grateful to have found her and would recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for a trustworthy, kind, and deeply responsible pet sitter.”

About: Growing up on farms in Vermont, I have been around animals my entire life and I love them all. I have taken care of animals through all stages of life birth through passing. I am not only a pet lover I am a pet owner. Your fur baby will get nothing but the best care possible. I have a pretty flexible schedule and that allows me the ability to be available more frequently and on short notice. Day and night availability to give you peace of mind In my home we have a fenced yard. But I also take my dogs on regular walks and outings to the dog park. Making sure to tick check after each outside exposure.
About: I adore animals. I have grown up with cats and dogs my entire life. When I did not have a pet of my own I always have asked friends and family to take care of their pets when in need. People have always relied on me with their animals as they know I show love and I am very attentive. I have mostly trained my young puppy who has a lot of energy, with the help of a few wonderful sitters. I understand behavioral training, being kind but firm. Teaching with kindness and showing the animals the way rather than teaching in fear. I give a lot of attention and am able to read their body language well. I work freelance so I am available intermittently. But when I am available for sitting I am present to give the animal full time care, so if you have an animal who has separation anxiety and doesn't I take the dogs out first thing in the morning for an hour sometimes even 2 hour run in the park. a few small walks in the day and another longer walk or run in the afternoon. I also love to take the dogs on hikes. I do not have a crate as I did not do crate training with my dog but if you want to provide one I am happy to. My apartment is puppy/dog proof. I have a big yard although it is not fenced on one side so I always watch the dogs when I am out there. I have a nice big dog park near my place. I am currently working freelance, as previously mentioned. Reach out to me and I will tell you when/if I am available. I really enjoy animals company and I work in the city so this is something I like to do when I am home in Hudson and not working. I do allow my dog on the bed and couch in my own home, but I do encourage him to sit on his own bed. I can follow any rules that you wish that aligns with you and your pets needs.

“Sofia and her husband Arsen did a wonderful job looking after my 5 cats. One of them is a very high maintenance rescued Himalayan. His coat looked better than it did when I left and his eyes were well cleaned. The other four were happy and well fed.”

“Elizabeth saved me in a pinch when I couldn't get home--she came over and walked my dog, whom she'd never laid eyes on, and brought her cute daughters to give her a snuggle. Plus sent me a picture of the scene, with my happy dog soaking up the attention. Thanks again!”

“Elishamaria was so accommodating last minute. She was attentive and kind, and got along well with our shy puppy. We’d definitely use her again when in the area. Thank you!”

“Lori was fantastic! We were out of town for a week, and she took care of our dog and cat, and even checked in on our chickens as well. Our dog, Hank, loved her visits, when she gave him plenty of attention and snuggles. She was very responsive and sent regular photos and updates. Sophie took such excellent care of our two cats while my husband and I went on vacation! She is warm, attentive, communicative, and immediately made us feel at ease. Not only did she go above and beyond to care for the cats, but she also took great care of the house while we were away, keeping the kitchen and litter box sparkling clean and even keeping an eye out for package deliveries! Highly highly recommend! <3

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
