“Sheila is an amazing person and caregiver! Today was our dog’s first day with her, and our doggo was loved and very well taken care of. Thank you, Sheila!!”

About: I have always loved animals and had pets my entire life. Currently have a dalmatian that loves to play and could use a friend to help them both burn energy. I work from home and would love to give my dalmatian, Bennie Mae, a walk with a new friend! Also, my schedule is very flexible. We have a dog-proof home with plenty of space to run and play. Nearby park with room to roam outside. Wonderful neighborhood to go on walks.

“Higgins was a happy boy with Layla. I would ask her to watch Higgins anytime. She was easy to communicate with, sent pictures, followed instructions, and most importantly Higgins was happy and well taken care of!”

About: I’ve had animals my whole life. I grew up on a dairy goat farm. All sorts of dogs, horses, cats, cows, goats, etc. I have had Chihuahuas all the way through German Shepherds. Puppy age all the way through their whole lives. I am the biggest animal (especially dog) lover! I love meeting new personalities. I would spend 24/7 lounging around with my dogs & cats if I could!🩷 I currently have a 16 year old Minature Schnauzer, and an under 1 year old Goldendoodle. My old girl currently takes quite a few medications and likes her alone time. My little man loves to play, be active, and requires hands on often. Therefore, I work with a spectrum of needs. I will make sure your baby has all the play time (or alone/rest time) they need!🩷 I am a professional MMA fighter & bar tend on the weekends! Most of my job consists of being at the gym just a couple hours at a time. And I live 5 minutes away from where I train! It makes spending time with & caring for pets easy and frequent. I only bar tend two days on the weekend (and my boyfriend is home most of that time too 😁 ) Home visits 🏡: In my client’s homes, I can easily care for your pets however you need. I will play games with your furry friends, lounge around with them, etc. I am a very active person & love taking long walks myself, so I would love to do that with your dog if you’d like! I am a reliable, very detail oriented gal. Whatever instructions you leave, I’ll get them done. I love when my clients can come back to a clean, comfortable space after caring for their fur babies. Boarding 🐶: I have a fenced in back yard on a quieter side street. We have an older Miniature Schnauzer, under 1 year old Goldendoodle, and two gentle, quiet cats that lounge around (pretty much keeping to themselves) 🩷 I have plenty of space in my living area to have the zoomies. I have a spare room to give your pet some rest and seclusion too! That means I also have ample room to crate your doggie, if needed. We would love to have your best friend come hang with us 🙂
About: I will care for your pets as if they are my own. I have over ten years of experience pet sitting for friends and family, as well as extensive experience in cat rescue, including fostering more than 80 cats and kittens and working with TNR/community cats. I’m also experienced in administering medications and caring for pets who may need a little extra attention. I currently stay home while taking online classes, which gives me a flexible schedule and the opportunity to give your pets plenty of attention throughout the day. Whether that means potty breaks, walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply some extra company, I’m happy to work around your pet’s individual routine and needs. I have two boys, ages 5 and 8, who have been around dogs and cats their entire lives. They are very respectful of animals and their boundaries, but also love to play with pets who enjoy the extra attention! We typically go for daily walks and love spending time outside. Most importantly, I know how much trust it takes to leave your pets with someone else. I want you to feel comfortable knowing that I’ll care for them with the same love, patience, and attention I give my own. I am currently at home full time. I am never away for more than 2 hours at a time. This gives me the ability to give your pet extra attention, exercise, play time and potty breaks. Your pet will be loved and cared for as it is in your home. I like to get to know their personal routine so I can keep it as close as possible to that while they are in my care.
“She is so fantastic! Her backyard is huge. Our dogs are still asleep and it's 16 hours since we picked them up. We're definitely going to ask her to dog sit them again. She's very friendly and open and communicates very well. We also got pictures during the day which was really nice. I think they had a fantastic time.”

“Barbara & Dirk are excellent dog sitters. They are very loving to the dogs and very welcoming. Zoey their small Morkie is adorable and very charming. She is a great hostess and plays so nicely with her visitors. My dogs walked right to the front door and were happy to spend the day with Barbara, Dirk and Zoey after meeting them. We are anxious for our next visit and highly recommend them.”

“Kelcie and Kyle take excellent care of our doggies and even sent them home with sweet notes and a gift/ toy. They are wonderful and we feel very fortunate to have them to watch our puppies!”

About: I’ve owned several dogs, large and small breeds, most of my life. I am a dog lover!!. I am a retired registered nurse, and recently had to say goodbye to our beloved lab, Mack. I am missing a furry friend and would love to meet and care for your pet. I have a lovely setting for boarding your dog or cat. I live in a wooded area with large lots and long meandering roads for walks that are away from busy roads. I am home full time since I retired and love to walk, so your dog will get lots of exercise staying with me. I usually only take one dog at a time, however if you have 2 pets from the same household, I would take both. I would also take 2 dogs, each from different households, if both pet parents agree. I will give full attention to your pet during boarding, doggy day care, drop in visits, and walks. I will love and play with them and follow any specific instructions for pet care you have. I will communicate with pet updates during our visits and send you pictures of your pets daily activities.

About: I was an owner of dogs for a number a years. We loved having them but we are last dog passed when our 2nd son was born we decided to take a break. I have been a dog watcher for my friends for years. Watching small dogs, big dogs and puppies. I finally decided to expand and over my services outside of friends and family. I will treat your dog like family. It will be part of my family while you are away. I live on an acre and half lot and there will be a lot of play time for your dog. I have cared for a diabetic cat and dog so I can give injections.
About: We are a just a loving couple with a couple of cats and dogs. Our farm is ready to share the love with your animals and take them on an adventure when you are on your adventure. I’m Jack and I stay home to take care of my family. I live in the country with a big yard and I love animals. My girlfriend walks and takes care of animals by my side. There is always someone to love them and someone there for your animals needs. We have a big field for pets. Two dogs that roam as they please. They are trained to stay in the yard. One pet must be tethered, he gets 100 ft of chain to adventure. We live on dirt roads and have plenty of space to run all the energy out of your pups. We also can care for quiet and gentle pets. We accommodate whoever visits our home, the Hideout.
“My dog has pretty severe separation anxiety as well as fear of other dogs. It has been challenging finding the right caretaker for him. Richard and Sarah have been fantastic with Guinness and he enjoys his time there. A little out of the way to get him there but worth it because of how great Richard and Sarah are with our boy.”

About: I just made the compassionate choice to set my dog free from his pain. I was a dad to a 7 1/2 year old Schnauzer mix who was just the best. I used to watch pups for teachers, coaches, and family members before I moved out and got my pup! I’ve watched dogs of all sizes and would love to get to spend time with your pup too. I work a hybrid schedule right now, so I’m usually available around lunch times or in a pinch to go make an appearance for your pup and make sure they’re taken care of. Depending on your needs I can usually be flexible with my time to make things work. My house has a fenced in yard, and I love going outside with dogs to play, throw the ball, or just hang out with them. Wherever I need to be for them, I’m there! They will be able to explore my house, be in furniture.
About: I have a very dog and cat friendly place to call home. Most days I am outside working around the property and the dogs are out with us. I’ve raised our dogs from 8 weeks old and the Labs are obedience trained and have taken their Canine Good Citizen class to hopefully be Therapy dogs soon. Our Pug is the youngest and raised by the Labs and of course, me. In the evenings it’s relax in the chair time. The dogs love to snuggle up and just nap after playing outside. I make my own work schedule and am able to fit work around pets. Usually only leaving the dogs for an errand run here and there. I go outside with all dogs and walk them on the property. I feed 2 times a day plus a snack or whatever is necessary for any visiting pet along with fresh water at all times. All pets have free range of the house day and night unless otherwise requested. I have an outdoor kennel for nice days if they need to be outside for a little while.
“Bill and Sandy are fantastic! They made us feel so comfortable dropping our dog off for the first time. We also had some special requests about his care and they had no issue accommodating. We will definitely be bringing our dog back.”

“Leah is very kind and responsive. Our dog enjoys going over and running around the big fenced in yard and playing with her dog Rosco. Leah sends picture updates and keeps you updated. Definitely recommend and will keep using ourselves!”

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
