I have always been around animals my whole life and grew up with multiple pets, caring for them since they were babies up until they were seniors. I’m 25 years old, going to school at Eastern Michigan University to become an elementary teacher. I’m very active and love to be outdoors! I love and treat my pets as if they were family and plan to do the same for your fur babies! I‘ve cat sat for my aunt and uncle and have pet sat for my friends and family as well as past clients on rover, and have worked on a farm in the past caring for horses, barn kitties and dogs. I really enjoy caring for all animals and i’m looking forward to care for yours as if they were my own! I’m a fast learner and very dependable so if your pets need any special treatments you could just let me know and show me how you approach it and I will do the same! My late St. Bernard was on heart medication so I know how to trick even the stubbornest dogs to take their pills or eat if they’re old and don’t have much of an appetite as they used to. I have recently moved to the Howell area and live in an apartment, however my complex is super dog friendly and my apartment has a big (unfenced) yard behind it (would have to keep your dogs leashed if they’re boarded here) with many trails! I’m looking forward to hearing from you and taking care of your furry friends 😊🐾

Higgins was a happy boy with Layla. I would ask her to watch Higgins anytime. She was easy to communicate with, sent pictures, followed instructions, and most importantly Higgins was happy and well taken care of!
Layla is beyond amazing with animals. Every animal she comes in contact with loves her. She is always trying to make new friends with any stray she happens to run into. I’ve even seen her trying to make friends with a groundhog. She cares for your animals as if they were her own. She loves them all. She has cared for our late guini pigs. Even set up a barricade outside so they could roam the grass. She has cared for our gerbils, our fish, and even a gecko. She is beyond exceptional. She goes over and beyond when caring for your pets. She has even spent her own money and bought toys for a senior dog she was pet sitting for. She has done everything for our furry friends. From feeding to walking to taking them to parks or nature trails, she has even given them baths and brushed them along with administering medicines on a Strict schedule. I guarantee you and your furry baby won’t regret meeting Layla.
I don't know why you'd do anything other than use Layla via Rover. Layla loves caring for our senior cat and kittens. She is reliable, attentive, and we always return to happy pets. I know her dog clients love her too. Even if your pet has special needs, she can handle them with ease. You are reassured with her cute daily photos and updates. She's our #1 choice and we are lucky to have her!

Schedule
My schedule is very open for the summer, since I’m on summer break before I begin student teaching in late August. I’m available Monday-Friday, as well as some weekends!

I frequently dog sit for my friends and family, with most of my experience being with dogs between a year-fourteen years old, and same goes for cats. When I enter someone’s home I make sure to never approach their pets and let them approach me (because I know it can be nerve-wracking for them to meet a new person at times). I usually let dogs out every hour or more if needed and enjoy going for walks with them or playing fetch or any other games to keep them entertained. I follow the instructions given by the parents of our fluffy friends very closely, feed times, medicine times, treat times, etc. If I need to I usually set reminders so I have a backup reminder if needed. Along with caring for their pets I also clean up after them, litter boxes, toys, their outside duties, and whatever the pet parent instructs. I currently just moved to the Howell area and have not gotten a pet of my own yet, however I can pet sit your pets at my apartment if they’re potty trained, or can take care of them at your house as well!
A typical day
I love going to downtown areas and parks, they’re really good for being outdoors and going for walks. I don’t mind taking your pets for car rides to these places if the owner doesn’t mind! I can play fetch, or whatever activities you specify i’ll be happy to do!
